It has been a beautiful spring in Kentucky for Zenyatta and her paddock mate, Vixana. Alys Emson often stops by their paddock with her camera, and she took the following photos in May and June.
Alys Emson has a gift for catching snaps of Zenny that capture her kindness, goofiness and wit. Thank you, Alys, for taking the time to share these with all of us.

Hovis has had quite an exciting week especially with Monty riding him and having a visit from a “stand in”CNSM (Daniel is in Israel).Mother man handled his Hovis sausage and he wanted to kick her in the head!!He is teasing us about the BIG news.We have to wait for an announcement!!!Safe trips to all horses and jockeys both sides of the pond.Sheena. http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/blog/hovis-friday-i

Most of us would be slow to answer if we were suddenly asked, “What is your deepest desire right now?” Even if we have a vague idea about what we want, we probably would not have a clear-cut picture in our minds. A whole series of questions would probably run through our minds: What could possibly happen that would fulfill my desires? Am I afraid to answer because I might miss out on something bigger?
Why is it that we possess many material “things,” but don’t know our own heart’s desire? Not knowing our heart’s desire explains why we sometimes pray and our prayer goes nowhere. It goes nowhere because we cannot be specific. We fumble and change our minds and though we work hard, we accomplish nothing. But when a dream-a heart’s desire-is shaped and colored and surrounded with joy, it happens. It happens when we know exactly what we want.
The answer you brought us is not according to what we expected.
-Joseph Brant, Mohawk
Dear Kathy. So many desire the “material”things in life these days and ha.ve forgotten what is important. We are still reeling over the brutal murder of Jo Cox.Life,of course, goes on but has changed somehow. At first we heard she had intervened in a fight between 2 men but she was singled out intentionally.Kicked and punched to the ground, stabbed and then shot 3 times.A 77yr old tried to help but was injured. It seems the attacker had mental health problems and was a loner. The last British Politician to die over here was Ian Gow who was blown up by the IRA in July 1990 and there was the Brighton bomb in 1984 also Mrs Thatcher’s close friend Airey Neave who died in 1979 but this young woman was just going to attend her regular surgery. It’s all so sad.
Her Majesty is all in coral today and Sarah Duchess of York is there but NOT in the procession.Frankel’s daughter is in the first race we shall see what happens can she emulate her dad?My PC was off hours last night there were storms in Wales oh,the options one has to go through to get through to your ISP.The chicks are growing rapidly now and stretching their wings at least it’s dry there now.The Queen is not used to someone behaving naturally with their children as Will and Kate do.Her photos always used to look so formal.I love Marty’s little messages from Heaben.Oh.Hovis is naughty to tease us about his BIG news. Some thought they have bought a pony for mini-mother but this is his big news.Zoe needn’t worry about Gizmo and the ladies.Such a sad story about the little dog in the heat.Wow,the temps are expected to reach 118F!!I heard about the fires in NM.I can’t understand Mango on 10 miles away from home but still camping!Queen Kindly ran very well to be 3rd but Brave Anna held on to win for Aidan.Have a lovely day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO

So very sad, and her poor young children deprived of their mother. RIP Jo Cox…I’ve been really enjoying all the pics you’ve been sharing of RA. Sarah was really not thinking things through when she alienated herself from the Royal family. Talk about cold receptions! Very best wishes for Frankel’s daughter! Although I have to say, I’m not sure that my Holly would become friends with a rat! lol We’ll just have to stay tuned to find out Hovis’ BIG news. None of the beauty contestants can hold a candle to our Zoe! As you say, no worries. It was heartbreaking to hear about that puppy out in the heat. Praying that the idiot owner comes to his senses. 118 is really hot! Mango camping 10 miles from home seems kind of silly. Good job, Queen Kindly, and congratulations to Brave Anne! Ann NC
Great racing this week and we finally saw Frankie and his Flying Dismount! That station must have heard us!
Chromie left his influence at RA. Race 1 had a wild man backing onto the course. Remember Chromie backing off the trailer? Anyway, what a sight! Love watching all of those beauties entering the track..oh my gosh….whoosh, gorgeous horses.
Love to all.

Dear Ann and Z Fans:
Found the video of gorgeous CC backing out of the van at Churchill Downs. Love the whinny and the sound of his hooves on the ramp. Love and Hugs, JB
