We will be raising funds for our favorite Thoroughbred charities over the Breeders’ Cup weekend. Look out for upcoming posts detailing the 2020 Zenyatta Celebration.

      Dear Judy,
      Thanks for posting these two articles. Loved that Serengeti Empress is so adored by the Politi family. So heart-warming to know that she has a forever home and a new career as a broodmare, but with no pressure other than to be happy.
      Also, glad that Milwaukee Brew, Awesome Again and Silver Max have a soft landing at Old Friends where they will be cared for with such love, too.

      Happy retirement to all these wonderful horses!

      Judy, thanks for posting. I watched the ’98 BC Classic again this morning. What a stellar field! Awesome Again and good old “Wait All Day, Pat Day” So happy these guys will live out the rest of their lives there at Old Friends where they will be loved and well cared for and their fans can visit.

      They are just sooooo good looking.
      The video of Swiss Sky Diver also appeared. She is stunning. Such presence. It just gives me goosebumps watching all of them.
      Has also been fun watching them arrive and come off the vans. Talk about game faces! Big attitudes have arrived.

    The Classic is going to be exciting. I am on the fence between Tiz and Max. Hope The Empress and Skydiver come out of their races safely.

    I,too am glad that the honor of beating the boys in the Classic still belongs to Zenyatta. Don’t think any other filly or mare has finished second either.

    It is going to be hard to watch the BC on TV since we have wonderful weather forecast here in Indy. Sunny and warm.

    Nice slide show of the infamous Breeder’s Cup race between Zenyatta and Blame on Bloodhorse.com. Both Coz and ZZ have participated in shows recently. Our Mims had a loss two days ago. Lindal

    Here we go. Breeders Cup Day. Good luck and safe trip to all the horses and jocks. Will be sad to see the Empress for the last time. Just hope she stays safe and does well. Still on the fence about Tiz and Max.

    Hi everyone,
    Here we are at BC Friday!!! So many choices in so many races. I still can’t make up my mind about most of them. Looks to be a lovely day in Lexington – wouldn’t you know when none of us can be there? Anyhoo, safe trips to all. Hope we can beat the Euros in at least SOME of the turf races.

    On another note, have I missed something? Haven’t seen anything more about the Zenyatta celebration which I thought would be happening now. Don’t want to miss a chance to participate (and win a chance to visit her of course!!).

    OK – Hovey was not real illuminating about his condition, but he does have a list of suggestions for surviving the next round of “box rest” (England is going on lockdown again). Things are certainly no better here on that score so please be very careful everyone!

      There is a new blog entry today with information about the Zenyatta Celebration. Hope you can find it — I stopped using the short-cut to the blog since I had missed the last entry until VampSue alerted me that there was a new entry last month. Check your index(?) on the side or lower page. I hate when my computer does updates to the OS.

    Thanks for our Hovis diary again this week, Sandy.
    I am glad the Hoverine seems to be hanging in there and with his usual humor, too.
    “. . . woman so dense that light bends around her.” My shape can relate too well to this description after this year of eating too much.
    Prayers for healing continued for Hovis and positive vibes, too. ? ?

    Oh wow, It has been so long since I have come to Zenyatta site. Believe me it was not because I lost my interest in Zenyatta. She became my life since I began to see her racing and winning, and dancing, and I traveled to see her at her retirement at Keeneland and the big Zenyatta party at Churchill Downs Kentucky among other travels. I will always love Z. She became a beautiful and wonderful momma.
    Hope some of you remember me.
