Hope no one gets upset because I am talking about another horse but—Stonestreet posted a picture of Rachel’s filly (still unnamed) on their facebook page. With the loss of Z Princess she is the only filly among Queen Zenyatta and Rachel’s kids.

Thanks, shirleeinindy. Will check her out.

I have missed being here since Thanksgiving I think. I was so blessed to see our lovely Z having a snow day. I don’t know which pic I like the best because she is just stunning in every one!! Alys, you do take awesome pictures. Thank you! Sally B
SallyB.(AuntiecherishesZandheryoung)
Hi all, I heard from my friend Chrome won his race on turf!! Whoopee!! I really think he is one seriously talented horse. Chromie is also so gorgeous!! I love that horse!
I had been so busy with Thanksgiving and covering extra days taking care of the horses. Making bookmarks from photos I have taken of our sanctuary horses kept me working too, cutting and creating a nice border to them. I complete them just before our sanctuary meeting as some wanted to purchase them for stocking stuffers, take my finish product to Office Max for lamination and they screwed up!! I could have cried right there in the store. I was hoping they would not mind bubbles appearing to the bookmarks. Geez!! Some that have bubbles at an eye are junk. Oh well, life could be worse.
It will take me some time to go back to see what is going on, but I wish all is good for all of you.
hugs, Sally B

My Dear Marshall and Z Fans:
I’m OK. Have had Lola Mae in sick bay for a couple of days with an upset tummy from a booster shot she got on Monday. She’s fine now. Happens every time; even with giving her Benadryl before hand. She’s just so little. Thank God she won’t need shots for a while.
Hope all of you are doing well. Have some catching up to do on reading posts. Love and Hugs, JB
SallyB.(AuntiecherishesZandheryoung)
Judy B, I know you gave Lola Mae all the love and attention during her sick time.
hugs to you both. Glad Lola is better now.

Dear Judy B.,
So glad that Lola Mae is feeling better, poor baby. Also, it is good to know that these are routine shots and that the tummy upset is not unusual — still, it is tough when our babies are unwell.
Have a lovely weekend! Hello to PC, HT, Cap, Frank, Boo, Hercules and the entire cast at the barn.
Love and Hugs to you and LM

According to the news on his Facebook fan page, Hovis more than redeemed himself during the filming today. I’m not sure exactly what this means, but here is what his Mum said about what they were doing: “We have helped to film a special Christmas message for the British Equestrian Federation.”
No actual word on when or where this will be shown – hopefully they will keep us posted. In any event, he behaved VERY well – did whatever they wanted him to do (after checking with his Mum first to see if it was OK), and Karen is “over the moon” proud of him. I expect all will be forgiven now :-)
Marshall (NC Broad)
Thanks, Sheena!
Love our boy, Hovis! Oops, make that our He-Man, Hovis!
Have a good weekend.

Our hands tell who we are. They are believed to be perfect subjects of the mind. As physical labor shows in the callouses on our palms, so does gentleness or greediness or strength. Nothing else expresses human behavior in so many ways. With our hands, tsu no ye ni, we work, play, love, threaten, show joy or grief. Sensitive symbols of faith and friendship, our hands draw to us everything and everyone we love. Marvelously made and directed by the mind’s eye, the mind’s ear, and the heart’s desire, our hands continually express our lives. An abusive hand is from an abusive mind. But the gentle touch does exist-even for those who have yet to experience it. What words cannot say, the hands can express with all tenderness and love.
Now we shake hands and make peace…

Dear Kathy. The”praying hands”are inscribed on my parents gravestone.I can always “see”their hands as if it were yesterday.Poor Hovis always in trouble with his mum!!I could see it’s 80F in Florida it’s freezing here but at least the sun is out!Not good news after Fubu’s visit to the vet,Kimberly was too upset to talk last night. He’s about the same age now I lost my Katie so I cannot see him with us much longer.Mango had LOADS of gifts yesterday even her own Christmas tree and those beautiful coats the family got!Did you see that film about Mr G and Jellybean such unconditional love and so happy to see them back together.Lovely video of Joey on the evening news show for once!He did love his mornings with Tom and the girls.Zoe got to test her raincoat yesterday she looked gorgeous!rain in Arizona???Have a great Friday.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Oh gosh, so the hands reference is very poignant for you. I know what you mean about seeing your parents’ hands as if it were yesterday. My mother passed away on December 7 in 2001, so that anniversary is right around the corner. Even though it has been a long time each anniversary brings me right back to the day I lost her. I can relate to the 80 degree weather they are having in Florida. It’s like that here in So Cal. So sorry to hear the news wasn’t good at the vet’s for Fubu. And poor Kimberly. I feel he won’t be here much longer, too. Nothing worse than saying good bye to your beloved furbaby. Mango’s Christmas tree is beautiful. She sure gets a lot of gifts! She’s a lucky little girl! Missed the video about Mr. G and Jellybean. Will look for it. Videos of Joey are always wonderful. Zoe’s new raincoat is really deluxe. She seems very comfortable in it. I imagine it took a lot getting used to it with the hat covering her head completely. Nothing’s too good for Zoe, right? AZ got the big storm that we had in CA as it moved east. Have a wonderful Friday and enjoy the weekend ahead. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.

Oh, dear. Poor Hovis. Just what part of “Every man for himself” does Mum not get? Really! Too cute.
@Judy Berube–had no idea about LM. So glad she is better. Kisses to her and hugs to you.

While the blog writer is adorable in the language they use for Hovis, the situation itself is anything but cute.
Having a horse bolt while on long lines is a nightmare that can easily get the person on the ground and the horse hurt.
Along with getting dragged, because you’re in a desperate panic not to let go of those lines, once you do lose the lines there are those heart stopping moments when you just pray the horse doesn’t wind them around those delicate legs and go down at full speed.
I’m very glad that Hovis is no worse for the event and hope those #&@#$( dirt bike riders got a talking too that was anything but Too Cute.

Rain! Hard to see to drive. Miss the beautiful days we had last week. Today is the birthday of No. 1 brother. I miss him. For some reason since my Mom passed he hasn’t wanted to keep in touch. I try not to push but I miss him. The news that CC might travel overseas was pretty exciting. Exciting too was Palace Malice will run in 2015.

OMG!!! I no sooner posted about my brothers birthday than the phone rang and it was him. I can’t express how happy I am to here from him. My three brothers are the only family I have left. Happy tears for a change.

The instant that something offends us we are off the track. Resentment surges through us and nothing is going to please us. We learned how to walk and talk and rely on people-and to mistrust them as well. We have learned how to think, how to rate people and systems-and how to berate them. We form opinions, set up values, decide how far we will go and how little it takes to reach a goal. And somewhere along the way we find that others have done the same things and will not respect our opinions. We are offended-e s ga-nu li s da ne lv gi. Taking offense creates a weak link. All our gifts, talents and skills must be united so that we are centered and poised in our own consciousness. When we take offense, we are not shut away from living, but our mouths, our eyes, our thoughts are aware of the weak link.
It has come to me through the bushes that you are not yet all united; take time and become united…
