Happy Wednesday!
Alys took these great photos of Zenyatta playing in her paddock. We think she looks especially beautiful set against the snowy Lane’s End landscape.
Team Z and the staff at Lane’s End are getting ready for the arrival of this year’s foals. Accordingly, we’d like to invite the next round of questions for our “Ask The Experts” column. Questions related to the foaling process will be considered first, but all questions are welcome.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Edit: We have receieved so many great questions from all of you! Submissions are now closed for the time being. If you didn’t get a chance to ask your question, don’t worry, there will be more opportunities in the future.
Some of you have recently asked about the Zenyatta Shop. Our apologies, the Shop is closed at this time. If you have any outstanding orders or inquiries, please contact us by emailing info@zenyatta.com.

It makes my day to see photos of Zenyatta. She is still spectacular and seeing her run in the snow gives me the same goose bumps as seeing her running down the stretch! We are so lucky that the Ann & Jerry and Lanes End continues to share Zenny with us! Cannot wait to see the new foal Z13!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for these wonderful photos!!! Zenyatta is so gorgeous, and so happy. I am simply in awe of her physical beauty, strength and power. There will never be another like her. If her foals have even half of her personality and physicality, they will be special.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Tears of joy are streaming down my face at just absolutely beautiful and happy she looks! I love seeing her having so much fun in the snow and also cute to see her little paddock buddy running with her! I swear it in one of the pictures of her side, I could almost see two little hooves! In one of the pictures of her from last year when she was pregnant with baby 12Z, I could literally see the outline of his little head and almost died! Zenyatta, I love you so much as we all do and you have made my life worth fighting for…I’ve been facing major health issues and now am in need of a heart transplant and you have just brought so much joy and light into my life, so thank you sweet girl!!! Am so excited to see your new baby!!! And I love seeing how big 12Z is! Hope we get to hear his official name soon! Love, love, love you Zenyatta!!!

Dear Catherine,
So very happy that you have come to this site to get the wonderful lift from
the Queen Zenyatta. Thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through
the heart transplant process. Hope you have read the story of Kathy Ritvo,
TB horse trainer and her “new life” after transplant. Thanks for sharing your
story.
Catherine Uher
Thanks so much! I will have to look her up as I have heard her story and love MMM!
Darlene Daniels
Catherine,
My prayers and good wishes are with you. My neice’s name is Catherine, and I love her very much, I will pray extra hard for you. Zenyatta, as great as she is, is not God, but she does have a power of healing and comfort, through her perfection, joy, and magnetism. I know this first hand. Kinda hard to explain. But, when you feel it, you know it. I have often felt like God Almighty, sent her to so many of us at a time we really needed something special. And she, Zenyatta, is truly something special.
Catherine Uher
Thanks so much! I know exactly what you mean about Zenyatta!
shirleeinindy
Catherine, you are in my prayers as you deal with all your health issues.
Do you know the story of Kathy, Mucho Macho Man’s trainer? She is received a new heart several years ago and is doing very very well. Hopefully, her story will bring some light to your day.
Catherine Uher
Thank you so much!

Wow! What a wonderful surprise — our Queen Z frolicking in the snow!! This is just like a Christmas card/present all in one. Zenny looks absolutely divine — our snow angel!
Thanks, Alys, for these beautiful photos. You are the Best!
Cheers and whinnies!

I am totally confused about th sale of V. I was not aware she was sold in foal to E. I believed it was finalized mch later. My error. And yes Mr. Kronfeld is a wonderful example of a true love for this business and how crazy he is about E shows it. I love his kindness and respect for her and not expecting more than she can give. I know he has a great fondness for V and I should have explained she will come bck to him wn the time comes. My apologies.
signofthetimes; President of the Texas RN Club; RN philosopher
Dear Kim zeanyatta,
Did you see the video Mr. Kronfeld did with HRTV, posted for you on a previous page?
The life of a breeder with many other successful businesses. Really love this
video as we have heard so many “stories” about “V”, “Z” and “E” and their
family. We are now able to hear everything completely from her breeder.
Don Robinson at Winter Quarter Farms was very upset when “V” was sold
he “loved her very much”. So that is why the clause was put in her contract
that she will return to Winter Quarter farm after she is pensioned.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Will post Winter Quarter Farms site for you, that is
where Mr. Kronfeld keeps his broodmares.
signofthetimes; President of the Texas RN Club; RN philosopher
Dear Kim,
There is a large section on Zenny and “V”. The section on “V” explains
the issues that she had as a race horse etc… And the Zenny section i
wonderful. Hope you enjoy it.

Kim, one of my favorite interviews ever was the one that Jennifer Wirth-Ice did with Don Robinson did in late 2010, which she posted at her blog. She has since discontinued her blog, however, the interview and other wonderful posts can still be read. Hope you enjoy this: http://thesaturdaypost.org/blog/2010/11/15/don-robinson-talks-about-zenyatta-as-a-young-horse-at-winter-quarter-farm/
It brought tears when he described when he went to see Zenyatta right before the BC Ladies Classic and he was so moved that he felt she recognized him.

Dear Ann Maree,
Thanks for posting that classic article, it is such a wonderful read.

Dear Alys and Team Z,
How Zenny loves the cool/cold KY weather, running, jumping and playing.
Her foal is sure learning how to have the great fun that she has.
These photos are such a wonderful way to start the day, with such
joy, happiness and glee that she feels when she runs the paddock at
Lanes End in the KY winter snow.
PS: love her “polka dot” foot too. Really can see it against the snow.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THESE LOVELY PHOTOS AND THE OPPORTUNITY
TO ASK THE EXPERT – SUCH A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL OF US
TO KEEP UP WITH ZENNY AND HER HUMAN AND EQUINE FAMILY
signofthetimes; President of the Texas RN Club; RN philosopher
Dear Zenny fans, Dumplings and All,
Angels, like Zenyatta, come in all sizes and shapes and colors,
visible and invisible to the physical eye. But always you
are changed having seen one”. And that is so on this site
with these wonderful photos.
The mystery of angels touches all lives even saves them.
Often we are left baffled-disbelieving in the face of evidence
angels have touched our lives. But when we hear of some
inexplicable event-invisible hands, an external voice; when we
see the face of a man light up as he recounts the improbable
series of coincidences that saved his life; when we feel ourselves
uplifted and inspired by the Divine, mantled in light, warmth, safety,
joy, our hearts bow down before a reality that cannot be explained.
HAVE A BLESSED AND WONDERFUL DAY !!!!
MAY THE FEELING OF ZENYATTA SURROUND US
AS WE GO THROUGH OUR DAYS.

Dear Sheena:
Finally got to see the photo of Kind and her adorable colt (Keta’s post). So Kind will be bred back to Galileo. Why change a good thing. Hugs, JB
Max
JudyB. As you know, Kind also has two foals with Oasis Dream, Morpheus and an unnamed filly. That means that Noble Mission, Morpheus and the filly are still in training with Henry Cecil. Hoping for the best for them. Will miss Bullet Train and Frankel. Bullet Train has his own fan club here so that he will keep us up to date on his life. BT is an interesting horse with lots of breeding possibilities.

God Bless you always and all your sons and daughters. Love Forever, Shari XXXOOO
Cara Ezzell
Thank you so very much for posting these breathtaking photos of the “Queen of Racing”, Zenyatta, that are SPECTACULAR!!!! I miss her so very much because she along with the amazing team of trainer, John Shirreffs, the wonderful Dottie who kept all of Zenyatta’s fans so well informed as to how she was doing after she retired, her owners, Jerry & Ann Moss (gosh, Z is soooo loved by “everyone”, but I have purchased many photos & immediately noticed the bond between Ann Moss & “her girl” since I have horse of my own (a soon to be 11 yr. old off-track, grey Arabian gelding that I treat like a son); she adores Z so much & it’s not often when you see a famous owner of one of the great Thoroughbreds get so close, showing she is a “true” horsewoman!! I have easily noticed in many of the photos of Zenyatta that Mrs. Moss understands & communicates in “horse” language!! I know “everyone” connected with Z loves her the same, but there were some photos posted of Z on her last birthday of her, that fiesty, adorable colt of hers & Mrs. Moss that were so touching!! All I can say about her 1st colt (still haven’t heard if he’s been given an official name yet as far as I know) is, WATCH OUT WORLD because I can tell he has his Momma’s personality!! It actually made me think of Secretariat b/c in reading the biography of Secretariat, they spoke so much of his sire Round Table & grandsire Princequillo, who were so fast, but for a certain distance & were concerned about Secretariat handling the distance in that long mile & 1/2 Belmont Stakes. Well, I certainly feel that he flew through that race on a hand-ride w/ Ron Turcotte (Up) & was still going @ a full clip even after he blasted across the wire b/c he had inherited the gene for endurance from his dam/momma, Somethingroyal!!! How wonderful it was for Penny Chenery to present the 1st Vox Populi (forgive me if I misspelled that) Award to Zenyatta & her wonderful owners, Mr. & Mrs. Jerome Moss!! I have been fascinated with the Thoroughbreds since I was about 7 or 8 yrs. old & followed the sport, love to read about & study the different horses’ bloodlines, etc., but I had to step away from the sport after the tragedies with Barbaro & Eight Belles…but then, Zenny brought me all the way back & even though there have been a lot of injuries & tragedies, I follow the sport b/c there are many reputable organizations that now “make sure” the horses are given a proper retirement & regardless of their record on the track, are treated with dignity & respect!! I happen to sponsor a horse @ TROTT named Scrumpy, who has been rehabilitated & I heard through the grapevine that his jockey, who of course is retired now, had been trying to find him & when he did, was elated & I believe the adoption process has been started (I hope this information is as accurate as it should be). I originally chose to sponsor Scrumpy b/c I looked for the horse that would need the most care & attention. TROTT, as I’m sure you are aware, published the most wonderful book, thanks to their fabulous, caring Director, Bonnie Adams, & the photographer, C. J. Wheeler, took the most awesome photos of all the horses (for no fee) & the ones she took of Scrumpy were so fantastic, she, along with Bonnie & the many volunteers @ TROTT, made Scrumpy a Superstar!!!! They had a vote going when they were making the 2012 calendar among the many fans & donors as to who we would like to make the cover of the calendar, & Scrumpy boy won!! I am also aware of the wonderful organizations C.A.N.T.E.R., Old Friends, etc. Sorry for getting off the subject, but it is horses like Zenyatta & Barbaro that, b/c of their legacy, have been such a major part of helping & giving their free time to properly help horses retiring from the track that weren’t going to one of the big farms (I don’t even want to think about what might have happened to them if they had not ended up @ one of these fantastic rescue organizations), helping in the fight to STOP horse slaughter or the transport of any horses out of the country only face an unspeakable death, stepping up the research on one of the no. 1 killer disease, laminitis (thank you Roy & Gretchen Jackson, Dr. Dean Richardson, Edgar Prado & everyone who did their “very best” to save his life) & many, many other things that are so important to these horses that give their heart & soul when their hooves hit that track; I’m including EVERY SINGLE ONE!!!! Anyway, I apologize if my post is so long, but I would like to know who I could contact to purchase some of these recent photos of the “Queen” in “The King of Sports”!!!! Again, thank you so very much to all who have shared these “priceless” photos of Zenyatta & praying she has a soon to be easy delivery of her 2nd foal (filly/ colt??) by one of my favorite sires, Tapit!!!! Much love to Zenny & her boy!!!! :) ♥♥♥♥ xoxoxoxo (4 hearts for post position # 4, now one of my lucky nos.!!) God bless all!!!!
