Happy Wednesday!
Alys took these great photos of Zenyatta playing in her paddock. We think she looks especially beautiful set against the snowy Lane’s End landscape.
Team Z and the staff at Lane’s End are getting ready for the arrival of this year’s foals. Accordingly, we’d like to invite the next round of questions for our “Ask The Experts” column. Questions related to the foaling process will be considered first, but all questions are welcome.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Edit: We have receieved so many great questions from all of you! Submissions are now closed for the time being. If you didn’t get a chance to ask your question, don’t worry, there will be more opportunities in the future.
Some of you have recently asked about the Zenyatta Shop. Our apologies, the Shop is closed at this time. If you have any outstanding orders or inquiries, please contact us by emailing info@zenyatta.com.

Stay safe everybody in the snow zone.

Dear Sheena,
From the photo of Galileo (did not remember his marking, etc…),
Kind’s new chestnut foal does look a lot like Noble Mission
rather than Frankel and Bullet Train. Galileo is a very
gorgeous stallion. So very regal and special.

All Too Hard keeps family flag flying
Posted by: AAP Filled in: Australian Horse Racing | 9/2/2013 at 6:30pm
All Too Hard confirmed at Caulfield on Saturday there may only be one horse in Australia better than him – and that’s his sister.
Which means there are very few in the world who rate more highly.
In his first start since finishing second in the Cox Plate last October, All Too Hard defied the pattern of racing and some handy opposition to win the Group One C F Orr Stakes (1400m) and take the first step on a path that could end up in Europe’s best races.
“There’s probably not much he couldn’t do,” said co-trainer Wayne Hawkes.
By taking out the Orr, All Too Hard also completed a rare double by winning a race his half-sister Black Caviar won last year.

Vadashan Progresses Smoothly Through The Grades
Story By Rob Burnet – Thoroughbred News
Saturday, 9 February 2013: Every winner aiming for higher honours must come through the grades and Saturday’s Facebook.com/Sydneycarnival Handicap at Warwick Farm was another step for the well-bred three-year-old Vadashan.
The Redoute’s Choice colt, trained by Paul Messara and ridden by Christian Reith, has more than the usual expectations as he is out of the Aga Khan’s mare Vadsalina , by Sagacity .

Sally B. (cherish Z- Wi.)
Goodmorning sweet Zenyatta; one more day closer to having another baby!! You are in my heart and mind. I wonder when your first, 12z, will leave for his next training of his life and where that will be.
love N kisses on your soft nose, some for 12z too. Auntie Sally B
Sign indicated that according to her calculations Z would foul around Feb 28th. Did she mean March 28th? Perhaps I read it wrong.
Good luck to all that are racing today; have a safe journey and stay out of the storm.
hugs, Sally B
p.s. I still can not believe how awesome Alys pictures are. I look at them over and over!!

MAX, I am so sorry you were treated this way. This kind of treatment is totally uncalled for, especially on this beautiful site. I hope you can find it your heart to stay.
We would really miss your kind and caring spirit here,if you were to leave.
The most powerful words in the human language…I am sorry. I know you will probably not get that, from the one that is responsible for your departure,so I will do it for her.
I am sorry ,Max and please stay.
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
MAX – ditto to what Ann said so well. A lot of us are operating in “blinkers on” condition, but your posts are extremely helpful and appreciated. Please remember all the rest of us are still here and hope you will be too.

Max, please count us among many others who love reading your posts. You always have something interesting to say.

Dear Max: Join with the rest in asking you to please stay – really look forward to your great little one-liners – you cut right to the chase: your succinct comments on horsey issues are very good. And you have a sense of humour to die for. I’m hoping it’s the weather that’s making people a little barmy. We’ve got an excuse Downunder – it’s called an election coming up! Hugs and love, KathyR.

You are so sweet. How is our girl, the Fab feral Filly?
Marshall (NC broad)
I totally agree, Ann. We need to “play nice”. I don’t want Max to give up on us here because of the incivility of one poster. I enjoy her posts very much. I do not appreciate the attacks which are inflicted on some of our regulars (or on anyone, for that matter).
No one is the ultimate authority or expert, least of all yours truly.
I love this site and hope that this situation does not cause it to close down.
It is completely unfair that one sour apple should lead to termination for all.
Keep the faith, Z’sters!

Guys, check out Steve Haskins post on Bloodhorse.com. Wonderful photos of The Greats. The one of Spectacular Bid and Davona Dale is so funny.
Hope all in the Northeast are safe and warm and have power.
We need to remember that disagreement is okay, but civil disagreement. I love this site and would be devastated to have it shut down. It helped get me through some dark days last summer and fall as I was recovering from surgery.

Forgot to add. Good racing to Take Charge Indy and Johnny V in the Donn.

Shirley,
I’m rooting for Take Charge Indy too, although Calvin won’t be riding him. I’ve been waiting for his comeback, just love this big guy.
Max, don’t you dare leave!! You always have such good info in your posts…..we don’t want to lose anybody.
Hope all the gang at LE stays safe and sound, don’t know how much of this storm they will get, but I always think of Mama and EARnie and hope all the horses, mamas and new babies are doing well.
Safe trips to all horses and jockeys running this weekend.

Brenda S., Fort Erie, Canada
Lots of snow here in Fort Erie, it snowed all day yesterday and was still snowing a little when I went to bed. Fortunately, I still have power unlike all of those poor, freezing New Englanders who are getting hit with double what we got here. A family member came to clear the driveway last evening and I have been threatened with severe bodily harm if I go out to clear it again today – someone is coming to do it for me so I should be able to get out later. The winds that were forecast have not blown in so all the trees actually look very pretty but I hope all the white stuff goes away soon.

OOPS–Almost missed it! Here’s a slightly revised and updated version of last year’s poem for you, dear Marshall.
A Birthday Poem for Marshall in North Carolina
(February 9, 2013)
“Marshall”–
This time
It’s not the name of a man,
Nor is it a rank,
But the name of a lady fine
Who lives in North Carolin’
And whom we today thank
For her loyal participation
Here in this Zenny Nation.
Our dear Marshall
With us does share
Love for the incomparable mare.
She’s an ardent fan,
As are we all,
Of the great Z.
But please allow me
To recall
That she
Additionally
Is a big fan
Of mammography,
For that scan,
With subsequent surgery
Thirteen years ago
To the day,
To her did give
The opportunity
To live
And enjoy longevity.
Dearest Marshall,
From your every post
We know
You’re grateful to the utmost
To still be alive!
We full-heartedly toast
That you did survive,
And we pray
You’ll continue to thrive!
We hope this birthday
For you will be
Another one on which you say
WHOOPEE!
I’m so glad you had a happy birthday, Marshall, on this cold winter day, and I wish you many, many happy birthdays more!

Black Caviar’s Brother All Too Hard Wins Orr
By Myra Lewyn The Blood-Horse Updated: Saturday, February 9, 2013 11:18 AM
All Too Hard, younger half brother of Black Caviar and Australia’s top-rated 3-year-old colt, stormed from the back of the field to win the C. F. Orr Stakes (Aus-I) Feb. 9 at Caulfield.
Making his first start since a runner-up finish by a neck in the Sportingbet W. S. Cox Plate (Aus-I) and first for new owner Vinery Stud, the Casino Prince colt rallied down the center of the track to win by a half-length, defeating group I winners Mawingo, Mr. Moet, Wall Street, and King Musfhasa.
All Too Hard was ridden by Dwayne Dunn and covered 1,400 meters (about seven furlongs) in 1:22.83 on a good track as the 2.30-1 favorite in the nine-horse field.

1. Developed on a 10 yesr analysis of races that produced sucessful performance in

4. Projection is 20 to 40 points and the horse will be in.
5. New points aimed at better predicted success.
