Happy Wednesday!
As you may know, we were in Kentucky last week visiting Zenyatta, 14Z, and Ziconic. We posted photos from Lane’s End on Instagram and Facebook throughout the week, and we were happy to see so many of you following!
It still felt like summer in Kentucky, and we arrived to a beautiful full moon. We brought lots of pears, carrots, and mints with us and spent time with the horses every morning and afternoon.
This trip was extra special because Jeanne, April, and Jackie from Mayberry Farm were in town for the yearling sale. They were thrilled to spend time with us at Lane’s End and to meet Ziconic and Z Princess for the first time. It won’t be long before Ziconic goes to their the farm in Ocala for training.
Scroll down to see more photos from our visit. One of our favorites is available in the shop today!
Today’s post is dedicated to Street Cry, who will live on through Zenyatta, her children, and champions around the world.
Enjoy!

I can’t begin to tell you how gracious you have been to share your wonderful horses with us. Following Zenny’s career was the most exciting times. And now, it is so endearing to see her babies and see their steps towards their race careers. Thank you so much for sharing your fabulous horse family.

Dear Kathy.Great devotional,as always. The new pics are a wonderful tribute to Street Cry.Our big day has arrived with the Scots voting,I am praying they will vote with their heads and not their hearts. We are such a small Island and in the troubled world we live in these days we need to be together.I was reading about Larry Joey’s friend I hadn’t realised he died suddenly too he was only 3.Poor Dolly is having another heatwave and they are expecting trouble in Tripoli again!Fubu has to visit his doc today again he looks quite perky though.Mango’s mum Judy is enjoying her trip and Mango had mail! Someone sent her some napkins (diapers) It’s lacy’s birthday today.Loved the pic of Ray and Hawley D and Ray enjoying his banana.Miss Kitty Face’s mom needs a new camera and she had to take the cats to the vet for flea treatment it’s pretty expensive. It’s turned out quite warm today a summery day. We’ve really been fortunate this month the ospreys could have stayed a bit longer!!Hope you have a great day.Hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Had not seen the new pics last night so what a treat they were this morning! All I can say is MAGNIFICENT! The world will be watching Scotland today. It would open a real can of worms if it goes the wrong way. Yes, I think I remember reading that Larry died suddenly. Still can’t believe that Joey is gone. Even though Dolly is in a very dangerous part of the world her mommy sure seems to spoil her. As it should be! Still have to check on the other furbabies. Thank you for the updates! Ray and his bananas. My three LOVE bananas. Every morning they line up right in front of me to get their treat. So cute! Have a wonderful day. Hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy

Brought tears to my eyes as I looked at those wonderful pictures. I thought back to the amazing career of Zenyatta and also about the hope and anticipation of her foals. May you have the best of luck as this wonderful family (horses and people) continue to provide countless memories for all of us.

What a wonderful video Abigail. Thank you so much. So many great horses, but getting to see both Bernardini and Street Cry was just amazing! What color would one call Denman? Are you speaking to us from London?
Judy Berube From Rhode Island

I knew I should have made it here last night, but I have been so taken with the series, “The Roosevelts” on PBS by Ken Burns. Many students would fall in love with history if it could be taught in such a compelling way.
Thank you all SO much for these gorgeous pictures of the current Z-family. Just beautiful And that moon picture is something., We saw it last week over the Gulf of mexico, but my pictures literally pale in comparison.
Dear Street Crys’s name will go on and on, every time people pull up pedigrees in future years. May he not be forgotten. What a debt the Dumplings owe him!

♥ The stream of tears yesterday for Street Cry have been relieved by the smiles of today, courtesy of our wonderful Team Z. The photos of our Queen and her royal progeny are as beautiful as ever. Thank you for sharing the gift of your talent, Kyle Acebo. Just looking at the pictures comforts me in the knowledge that we have not lost Street Cry. He will live on through Zenyatta, Coz, Ziconic, Z Princess, and many sons and daughters scattered throughout the world. I loved seeing Jeanne and April Mayberry making the accquaintance of Z Princess (they look totally smitten), and am so excited to learn that our red prince will be coming to them very soon. The photos of Ann and our Queen are ethereal and are always my favorites. Seeing the extraordinarily special bond which they share is a blessing and makes my heart feel as if it could soar right over that full moon. Thank you, Team Z, for the joy which you spread so geneorusly over all of our lives. ♥
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Thank you yet again Cynthia for finding the words to express what many of us are feeling. I had been reading the posts thinking “what can I say at this point that hasn’t already been said?” Now I know that I don’t need to say anything else :-). We miss you here – come back soon <3

♥ Thank you very much, Sandy. As always, you are the queen of tact. I would bet anything that you saw that typo!

Such wonderful, wonderful photos of the Queen and her family. Thank you so, so much, Team Z, for allowing us peeks into their lives. Ziconic is such an impressive looking colt—like a bundle of power! And Z Princess is just precious. I can already see her in the Apple Blossom! :)
The news of Street Cry was heartbreaking. I pray he is running in God’s green pastures now. And how special that he lives on through Zenyatta and her babies.
Love,
Stel

Just wondering if you could please fix your newsletter so it displays properly in Firefox. All the pictures are replaced with a message saying “do not hotlink images and steal bandwidth”. I have to open up the newsletter in Internet Explorer instead, to see the pictures.
Thanks.
Barbara Wood
Sharon–can’t imagine what the problem could be. Mine works fine on Firefox. Usually I am the one with computer problems. Hope you get the problem fixed.
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Mine works fine in Firefox too. Maybe it’s an issue with your ISP?

Wow, just looking at these pictures over and over. Willie is looking for like him Mama everyday, except for the coloring. Z-Ziva and Willie’s blaze are almost identical and she also has the look of her Mama. Queen Zenyata looks beautiful. Ann, you are such a lucky girl. Love you all, keep brings news on CoZZy, what a beauty he is. I love you, Lisag

Lara
I saw some posts wit people saying “I love Street Cry, so sad.” What happened? Is there something wrong with Street?
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Lara:
It was announced on September 17th in BloodHorse that Street Cry was euthanized due to a radial neurological condition. He was only 16 years old. Love and Hugs, JB

It was an emotional roller coaster yesterday. I was deeply saddened over the loss of Street Cry – his legacy will definitely continue on in future generations. He’ll be a Sire of Sires and I’m sure with our Queen, an accomplished Broodmare Sire too. Thank you Team Z for your Blog Dedication to Street Cry and my condolences go out to all who had a part in Street Cry’s life including all his fans – I know there are many. I cried as if he was my own horse. I felt that I knew him because of my love and admiration for his daughter.
Seeing pictures of Zenny, Zi, and Princess Z, helped put a smile back on my face. I can see a lot of Zenny in both her offspring pictured above, so Street Cry’s genes are passed on to another generation who in time will pass it on to future generations to come. I also watched a race (I was introduced to this foal as a three-month-old of a mare I used to watch race) win an allowance race at Belmont yesterday on turf. His name is Balderdash. He is a 3-year old stunning medium grey (grandson of Holy Bull) who won at 11-1. He beat the favorite by 1/2 length.

Congrats, Mr. B!!

Celestial Halo trained by Paul Nicholls and owned by the Stewart Family has been retired.Winner of the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham festival in 2008 and a close 2nd to Punjabi in the 2009 Champion Hurdle. He is 10 yrs old and hopefully will have a long and happy retirement.I remember him in a crashing fall at Aintree when he landed on “shorty”Walsh’s arm and fractured it!!Happy retirement, old boy you deserve your rest.Hugs Sheena.

Dear Sheena:

Thank You for sharing the pictures of Zenny and her babies, they are beautiful. Can you give me and word on Coz, how his training is going with John.
Deb E.
Zenyatta looks absolutely gorgeous,as usual! The picture of her trying to grab a carrot from Ann is hilarious. It’s like Z’s saying, “Mom! Gimme that cawwot NOW! You’re not feeding me fast enough!” The Mosses obviously love Zennie and the “grandkids” so much.
Ziconic, you scare me! You are too spectacular for words! I predict that you are going to be a freight train on the track, a great big red locomotive who will strike fear and amazement in the hearts of your competition in 2016. I can’t wait!!!!!
Princess Z couldn’t look more like her mother if she tried. The first picture of her and Zennie in the pasture with their back ends to the camera shows that Princess has definitely inherited her Mom’s powerful rear engine! She’s stunning!
Alexandra Bowdoin
THANK YOU TEAM Z AND LEF! Z, Ziconic and the Princess look Fabulous!! Lovely Pictures Kyle, absolutely Fabulous!! Put a HUGE smile on my face to see these. LOTS OF HUGS TO ALL.

Deeply touched by the passing of Street Cry because of our indebtedness to him for our precious Zenny. He passed on so many good qualities to her as will she to her babies. Love her so and loved all the beautiful pictures. Thank you.
