Happy Wednesday!
Zenyatta and 13Z are settling into their summer routine. As you can see, Zenyatta spends her days grazing and rolling in the grass. Her colt is acclimating well to his new paddock mate. The boys can’t resist a nip & tug of the halter.
Also, at the end of this post, see a short clip Alys took of Zenyatta and her colt a few days after the birth.
Check back later in the week for updates to the Video and Photo sections along with new print additions to the Zenyatta Shop.
Enjoy!

Love love love this!

Love these pictures and video of Zenny and her new boy! he is just precious and loaded with personality. She is clearly a wonderful mom.
DeniseC
Love the photo of 13Z grazing, just like 12 Z his legs are too long so he has
to put his head behind them to graze, soo cute.
Mama Z is showing him how to roll and he is watching attentively learning that
wonderful fun thing from mom.
Love the foal tugging on halters, they carry that skill over to adult year, too.
The video is very special, 13 Z knows to get out of the way when mom comes
over, amazing how they learn the pecking order so quickly. Mom is the boss.

Dear Trina,
Thank you so very much for my wonderful Birthday Poem. You are just the best.

Thank you, Mr. & Mrs. Moss, Team Zenyatta, and Team Lane’s End for brightening my Wednesday!! Alys, a special shout-out and high hooves to you.
The video is great: our Queen allows her BabyZ13 to have a certain amount of freedom to explore in trusted surroundings, but then she needs to be certain.
I smiled seeing Zenyatta’s fly mask knowing how she hates the varmints!!!!!
Our PrinZling watching Mama have fun is like each of us when we realize Mamas enjoy life too. PrinZling loves to show off how limber the young can be…must be the California influence and yoga. Z13 plays well with others…hope he plays with the competition just before he passes them…again, like his Mother.
High hooves for being a well-loved horse on a sunny Kentucky day,
Love to all,
Mary in Boone

Perfection=Zenyatta and her foals. What great, great pictures of the Queen and her newest foal. The video proves she still loves the camera. What a special mare she is…there’s just not another like her. Thanks to Team Z for giving us such wonderful pictures.

Judy, Sue Fredrick, Celeste,Carol, Marty R, Janet, Heidi K, Max, Sheena, Abigail, Keta, Thank You all so very much for the wonderful Birthday wishes. It has been a beautiful wonderful nice day today. After work I went by the Mall, Ate supper out at Cracker Barrell and everytime I go there I think about Funny Cide and Bob Baffert as I know they both like Cracker Barrell bisquits. Ha, and there’s a couple of them that I always go to when in Lexington.
Just a beautiful day today, picture perfect, there’s a few Palm Trees in the front yard (Palm Trees are my favorite trees) and they have been just blowing in the wind just so beautifully today. It’s going to get hot though, very soon, so I am enjoying this.
Wish I could have seen all of you today, but it is so nice to talk to you all this way. I hope I have not left anyone’s name out. If I did I am so sorry.
Oh, and Max had to say Thank You so much for the Birthday Gift of Orfevre winning the Arc. I know he can do it. Go Orfevre…………………………..
Love You all , Peggy

Peggy – I’m just now getting to the blog and find myself more than a few rounds behind. After seeing the Birthday wishes from the others, I went back to the previous post and found Trina’s poem. Hope it’s not too late to send best wishes not only for today but for the year ahead. I’m glad it was such a nice day there for you – I’m sure it will be heating up soon. Happy Birthday!

I add my voice to Sandy’s. I had meant to post a birthday wish, but I must have forgot to hit the submit button. Another senior moment among many.

I sure needed this Z lift today and am so darn happy to see Zenny and 13Z just enjoying the good life. Alys is getting better every day with pics and video. A huge thanks for sharing these with all of us. Jerry and Ann are the best owners in the world, bar none.

Dear Z, COZ and Prince 2:
Goodnight. Sweet Dreams. Love Ya. Hugs, JB
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
I am always amazed at how the fast “the word” gets out when there is a new post (everywhere except here apparently!). Spent the whole day doing a cleaning “blitz” in preparation for a visit from my sister and her hubby sometime in the next few days. Funny how you see things with a different “eye” when you know that someone else will be in the house. Not done yet (and I move very slowly), but to think that I could have been gazing at these wonderful pictures hours ago instead of washing windows!!
Nothing much left to say that is original after 130+ other comments, but it still seems appropriate to say THANK YOU to Alys, Team Z, and everyone and Lane’s End for this super treat!! The little red prince is growing so fast, and I also remember a similar picture of Coz trying to graze last year. The one of Zenny rolling on her back is just priceless and not one that I ever remember seeing before. Nice to know that we will once again be able to follow the antics of Red and his pasture mates (no one ever told us who Crescent Moon Guy was). The video was also a treat, and I think we should all consider ourselves recipients of a Zenny kiss! Here’s one back ♥♥♥
Keta – thanks for the suggestion on the previous blog that Mr. Besilu’s trainer is probably Bill Mott. Very nice interview with him that you posted as well :-).
Bev Winters
Coming home and finding your post makes me smile. Thanks. No idea where life will take these babies…but love being able to follow the family. Thanks to all. Who is Z being bred to?
Sunday
13Z is a beautiful colt. 12Z is nice but 13Z is stunning. Love, love, love him!!!
Sue MacGray
Love the new pics and video. Wow, 13Z is gorgeous and SO well put together. He just looks like a little champ. And of course Z looks wonderful as always. Thanks for the day brightener!!
Susan Robinson
Has she been rebred? Will she?

Lots of discussion here about that…..some pro…..some con…differing opinions…..no official word about it ….

Come home after a long day at work and here is my pick me up.
Love the pictures and the video. No one can remember what kind of day
you had when you can see this.
As always big thanks to Lane’s End and the Moss’s for sharing this lovely
lady and her precious sons with us.

Thank You all so much for this wonderful Blog. Beautiful Pictures and Video.

With legs like that you gotta graze giraffe-style!

Re:Fly Mask Conversation
Oh my goodness. I know how that feels to have to chase down fly masks that “disappear” off a head in the pasture. Especially when it’s in the big pasture. Ugh. Soooo far! And HOT.
Took up an artsy project. I did some line drawings, and painted a bit. Here is one of the pictures:

Glad that Mama Z and Baby Z13 are happy and healthy! Shiny and plump!
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Pati, That picture is very very good. You are so talented.

Dear Pati:
That’s just beautiful. You should do one of horses. Bet it would be wonderful. Hugs, JB
Pati- 11 days to graduation!
If I do end up painting one with horses, would you like one too? I can always paint more. I have enough paint to make roughly two or three on copy paper and one big one.
Terry Crow
I think Lane’s End should invite you there so that you can do a family portrait of Z and both of her foals, if that is possible.
Pati- 11 days to graduation!
Aww. You’re too kind, but I think it might be easier if I just looked at their pictures and then just added them in together onto one big portrait. I imagine standing motionless for long periods of time is the last thing on a baby, teenager, and active mom’s minds. LOL
Marshall (NC broad)
Dear Pati,
You certainly ARE very talented!! The picture is LOVELY — makes you want to be there.
Goodnight and hugs!

Well done, Pati!

Love, Love, Love! Thanks for sharing!

This has got to be one of the nicest looking foals I have seen, even before he unfolded he was just gorgeous! He has about the most powerful hip and beautiful shoulder I have seen on such a young foal! I adore looking at his pictures! He already has “That Look”! Very impressive, Zenyatta & Tapit!
Allen
Thanks for the wonderful pictures and video, can never get enough of Zenny and 13Z. Any word on when Coz will began training. Have a great day Zenny.
Barbara Brayton
Cute pictures. Hope to see more of Coz soon as well.

GREAT TO SEE ZENNY AND HER COLT ENJOYING THEIR LIVES.
Eileen
Does anyone know if the other mare in the paddock is an old pal of Zenyatta? Is this the same gal she was with all winter while she was expecting? They seem very comfortable with each other.
