Happy Monday!
We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! These photos from Alys show how Zenyatta enjoyed her holiday.
Now that the festivities are over, we have some updates in the works including additions to the shop (sneak peek: we’re launching a new line of greeting cards) and news about Cozmic One and Ziconic. Make sure you’re on our mailing list for early access and December promotions.
Enjoy!

Dear Sheena,
I hope the viewing numbers pick up for Grand National. Boo always takes the cutest pics. SO photogenic! I was disappointed Dr. Jill didn’t say anything new about Wookie’s condition. Very thankful Sgt. Rambo survived surgery. He’s such a hero! Zoe in her nurse’s uniform just melted my heart. I hope Speedy enjoys his Christmas party. They’re certainly celebrating early! Zenyatta looks fabulous. So good to see her thriving. Still miss her terribly on the track, though. I hope we get updates on her brother from Europe. Sorry for more losses for Ray. The ratties are as entertaining as ever. Cuties! Congratulations to Bindi! I hadn’t watched the show when she won. I’m sure I can find it on YouTube. Enjoy your final on the 19th. Loved the pics of Treve you posted to my page. So beautiful! Have a wonderful day. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

Helloooo Mama! You look great; so happy to see you. Looking forward to hearing about Coz and Zi and what new items will be available in your store. Hint: a charm would be great. Sheena, that was indeed a turning point but sadly America’s journey has not yet concluded. We continue to struggle toward that “more perfect union,” and many among us are the voices who condemn minorities, who make outrageous claims about whole groups of people, who blame the poor for everything in general and who resent “the other.”
Civil rights and respect for our wonderfully diverse society as well as democracy itself can never be taken for granted.

hi zsters :)
beautiful pics of Z <3 she looks quite content and happy :)
todays devo:
“He will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God, and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.” (Luke 1:16–17)
What John the Baptist did for Israel, Advent can do for us. Don’t let Christmas find you unprepared. I mean spiritually unprepared. Its joy and impact will be so much greater if you are ready!
That you might be prepared . . .
First, meditate on the fact that we need a Savior. Christmas is an indictment before it becomes a delight. It will not have its intended effect until we feel desperately the need for a Savior. Let these short Advent meditations help awaken in you a bittersweet sense of need for the Savior.
Second, engage in sober self-examination. Advent is to Christmas what Lent is to Easter. “Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!” Let every heart prepare him room . . . by cleaning house.
Third, build God-centered anticipation and expectancy and excitement into your home — especially for the children. If you are excited about Christ, they will be too. If you can only make Christmas exciting with material things, how will the children get a thirst for God? Bend the efforts of your imagination to make the wonder of the King’s arrival visible for the children.
Fourth, be much in the Scriptures, and memorize the great passages! “Is not my word like fire, says the Lord!” Gather ‘round that fire this Advent season. It is warm. It is sparkling with colors of grace. It is healing for a thousand hurts. It is light for dark nights.

Zenny, you look marvelous…I only wish I could see you face to face and stroke that soft mane and kiss your nose. Sigh…maybe some day it will happen.
Alys, you take such awesome pictures…if you ever need an extra pair of hands I’m available on a moments notice, OK?
Can’t wait for those updates on our two princes…we’ve been letting our minds go wild without “official info”. Love to all of Team Z!

..
I have a question about Zenyatta. How tall would she stand from hoof to head in feet and inches? perhaps 6″3? thanks!
LauraJ_Cincinnati
Horses are measured at the withers, the place on the spine over the shoulders, just behind where the neck joins the back. It’s more practical than trying to get them to hold their heads still. Zenyatta is 17.2 hands high, or 70 inches at the withers. That’s 5 feet, 10 inches. (A hand is 4 inches, and the “.2” is an additional 2 inches.) When she’s alert, the top of her head is probably about 7 feet off the ground.
..
I knew that her withers were 17.2 which is about 5″8, which is extremely tall for a thoroughbred but i was just really curious about how tall would she fully stand. thank you!
..
I meant 5″10, whoops.. Also how big do you think he head would be? also in feet/inches? im just trying to get an idea how big she really is and its actually becoming extremely impressive – she must be a giant
Tizgood
Wow that might be Zenyatta rearing up; maybe 10 feet tall. Not sure I have
seen a photo of her rearing; just bucking and running. Maybe tearing is more of a stallion behavior?
Tizgood
sorry
rearing not tearing
lauraj_cincinnati
I remember seeing a comment somewhere from John (or maybe Steve her exercise rider) about when she first came to his barn. She would sometimes buck and kick, and her back hooves would reach the edge of the barn roof. She is a big girl!

A huge thank you to the wonderfully talented Alys for her gorgeous photos of The Big Girl…what a beautiful mum! Please keep those pix coming…they’re sure to bring a smile to our faces in these dreary winter days. Can’t wait for the news about The Boys…

Dear Judy.Summer is such a cutie reminded me of Carmen Miranda with her samba hat!Z’s brother won’t be named until he’s near to racing.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank Bentley and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Sheena:
Summer is an absolute little Doll. I just love her. Read in the TDN that Tiggy Wiggy has been acquired by Coolmore. Hope she has a happy life.
So that means Montey will be named and registered with the US Jockey Club because he was born in KY, but will race in Europe? Checked on Giant’s Causeway and that the case with him. Love and Hugs, JB, LM, PC, HT, Cap, Herc, Frank, Bentley and all the Sweeties
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Judy.I had heard Tiggy-Wiggy was up for sale today.I am so glad she has gone to a good home. She will make a fine broodmare.Yes,Montey will race in Europe but registered in the US.So glad you received my card.I like to mail early!Love and hugs Sheena
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Sheena:
Thank you again; beautiful card. Love and Hugs, JB
Tizgood
Dear Judy,
I am wondering Giants Causeway stands in the USA so maybe that is why
he is in the jockey club, as all of his races are in Europe but BCC. Have to see if DOW is in Jockey Club as he raced in Europe and stands in UK?
Love and hugs
Tizgood
DOW is standing in the US; thought he was in Ireland.
Great sleuth work Judy, maybe it is where they are foaled
rather than raced?
Have to check out some more stallions.
Love and hugs
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Tiz:
If you check Giant’s Causeway’s chart, he was born in Kentucky, raced in Europe and raced Stateside once in the 2000 BCC.
He entered stud at Coolmore in 2001 in Ireland, then Coolmore Australia and then at Coolmore’s Ashford Stud in KY.
I think you’re correct; if they’re born in KY, then they’re registered with the US Jockey Club. Please let us know what you find. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Sandy, Vamp, Sweet Sue and Doris:
Glad you enjoyed the photos of Hudson.
Sweet Sue, Charlie is doing well. Planned on seeing him to day, but didn’t make it to the farm. I’ll go tomorrow. My sis has an appointment scheduled at Mass General at the end of December. Hope your husband and daughter are doing well. The photos were taken by an Equine and Sports photography company called In Stride Equine Photography out of CT.
Sandy, all the girls’ practice, patience and time is coming to fruition. Hudson loaded and disembarked the van effortlessly too. Love and Hugs, JB

Robin LOVES Zenyatta
Our Queen looks FABULOUS. So happy that she is well cared for at Lane’s End.
Just wanted to share with you that Coolmore Ashford Stud has a link to two sites that rate the cross of any of their stallions with any mare, and an American Pharoah/Zenyatta foal is not rated very high at all. I am sure that the experts would be able to explain why that would be.
It will be interesting to learn who Dottie and the Mosses have in mind for Z’s next potential mating. We will all be overjoyed with a healthy and happy Queen and her War Front foal in the Spring. Can’t wait.
Tizgood
Dear Robin,
Do you know or remember what the nick was?
Great find, thanks for sharing.
