17Z apparently has a club foot which isn’t uncommon. It can be corrected with proper farrier work and will not affect her racing. Look on page 5 of this blog entry and scroll down to Pam Homeier’s reply to BranWick (about 11 or 12 comments down).
Also, on the previous blog entry entitled “Friday Photos: The Must-See Edition” there is a very good explanation by Z13Rulz on page 16 (maybe 3/4 page down). It seems that Zenyatta had this condition as a baby, too.
Lynn,
I have read that here and on the Forum. I don’t know if it is correct. Some say she has a club foot in the front which can be corrected with certain shoes. Again, I don’t know anything for sure.
Dear Judy:Hoping for some good weather for the Epsom meet. The chicks are already stretching their wings and Monty is feeding them well.Aran has deserted Blue 5F now,Boodie must have felt a lot cooler after losing all that floof.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank Bentley Willow and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX

Thank you so much for the great photos of Mama Z and her beautiful filly. Kyle, I love your photos-they are the best!
Mama Z, your filly is absolutely beautiful & she looks like she is loving life to the fullest, running around the field as fast as she can. I love how she has bonded with Ann, too.
May God continue to bless you & your family & all who care for you as well as all your fans.
I put a lengthy post on page 6 which still says it is in moderation. Don’t know of it actually ever came through or not. Does that usually take more than two days ??Will try it again later if it doesn’t come through.
I wish to thank all of you who commented on my return to the blog. Believe me, the pleasure is all mine. Like Gene Hackman said in Hoosiers, I love you guys. I am still working on my horse jokes, but I assure you that they will be positive ones and not tales of whoa.
All of you Rivers Run Deep fans! He is entered in the 9th at Churchill on the 3rd. Odds 4/1! Good luck and safe trip to this hard trying boy. $65,000 purse.
The “Bobs” at the Dyfi are growing fast and some sibling rivalry too,Blue5F fished for herself today and left the eggs unattended.Glaslyn think there is only one egg left now. http://www.facebook.com/dyfiospreyproject/
Before the day has completely passed by, join me in wishing the happiest of birthdays to . . . . . “OUR JOHN!” (I’m sure that Zenny would understand our attachment to her wonderful trainer and prince of a man). Sending him best wishes for today and always ♥♥
Dear Judy,
Such a wonder ~ Secretariat. Thanks so much for posting the link. A glorious memory! Hope you have a wonderful day today. with love, Elizabeth
Judy,
Thanks for the post. So glad they are introducing a new generation to the unforgettable Big Red. Gotta quarrel a little with calling him the greatest who ever was. Gotta remember the other Big Red.
I have many favourites especially in the NH world. As you know I never compare champions.
judy berube
Dear Marshall, Elizabeth, Shirlee, Sheena, Max and Z Fans:
Shirlee, yes it was Man O’War’s groom, Will Harbut, who tagged MOW, “the mostest horse that ever was”.
Secretariat, though is unique, both in the size of his great heart, his temperament and his talent. Max, I agree, there will never be a Belmont to equal Big Red’s. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
Sheena. You are so right not to compare Secretariat to other champions. He is beyond compare.
At last the Ballydoyle horses have arrived safe and sound at Epsom.A tough journey for them flight delayed at Shannon airport then diverted to Farnborough after which they had to tackle the M25 on a Friday afternoon!Aidan insists the horses travel on raceday. He remains as cool as a cucumber.Coronation cup up next.
Yet another group one for Aidan and the globe-trotting Highland Reel in the Coronation Cup.A very tough genuine horse he had only arrived at Epsom about an hour and a half before the race.A massive run from Frontiersman to be 2nd.His mum will be proud. The clouds look threatening and the umbrellas are up.
Bravo to Highland Reel!!! So excited to see such a great win (and under trying circumstances). After the Breeder’s Cup last November, some of us were in a gift shop on the Malibu Pier, and the clerk asked us if we had ever heard of him (duh!) Turns out his owners had at least a part interest in the shop :-)
A thrilling finish to our Oaks as Enable wins with Frankie on board.By Nathaniel she is trained by John Gosden and Juddmonte owned..A dramatic race with thunder and lightning plus driving rain.Daddy’s lil Darling was withdrawn as she ran blindly down the course heading for the rails Olivier Peslier had to jump off. Both horse and rider are safe and sound.Maybe she missed her pony but we got the flying dismount and a first classic winner for Nathaniel.
Congrats! Always great seeing the flying dismount.
How about that Soloman’s Bay!!!! What a sight and determined win for that big blazed horse. Loved it!!!
Rooting for Rivers on Saturday….he is getting really close to a million in earnings and is just as handsome as always…
Godspeed Rivers Run Deep…
…..
in the same race is another runner I am following named Vici…..also, tall dark and handsome…best to him too!
Willie Mullins is sending both Wicklow Brave and Clondow Warrior to Belmont next week to race in the Belmont Gold Cup. This should be interesting. Frankie Dettori or Ryan Moore usually ride for Mullins in the flat races.
Mullins was quoted as saying that he hopes that there are not too many stayers in the US. We’ll see. Mullins deserves a good win. Shaneshill is going back to France.

Very exciting. Good luck, Willie and watch your backside.
Would LOVE to see him saddling his horses and Frankie in action.
Frankie’s young son was recently in the Shetland races…honing his dismount skills.

Looks like Mullens is going with US jockeys. He has retained Javier Castellano for Wicklow Brave. No word yet on who will ride Clondaw. Agree that whoever rides will have to watch out for the teeth of both of them.
Thank you Judy for posting the Audi commercial. New generations will come to know & appreciate the magnificent one & only Secretariat.
And Happy Birthday to John Sheriffs. A wonderful & caring man, & a true friend to all his horses. Have many more wonderful days, Mr. Sheriffs, love, Christine
Dear Judy:Great to see the Bobs enjoying the early evening sunshine with mum looking on proudly. It has freshened up since the storms this afternoon. It was thought the thunder upset Daddy’s Lil Darling. It was good to have 2 great jockeys fighting it out at the end.Tomorrow sees the running of our 238th Epsom Derby Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh will be in attendance,

Glad the Bobs are enjoying some good weather. Poor baby, Daddy’s Lil Darling; she must have been frightened. Godspeed to all the horses tomorrow. We probably won’t get Poldark until the Autumn. Healing prayers for Hovis. Goodnight. Love and Hugs, JB, LM, PC, HT, Cap, Herc, Frank, Bentley and all the Sweeties

Is there something wrong with the new philly’s foot? Someone on here mentioned it twice now. I haven’t seen anyone else comment on it.

Sorry, I meant filly.
