Judy,
What a little doll. So glad she is doing well. Mom is a pretty girl too.
Okay friend. What am I going to do for the Belmont? Patch, Lee and Irish War Cry??? Love all 3 of them Guess all I can do is wish all a safe trip and may the best man win. Sure hope Patch gets an inside post.
This Belmont could be a great chance for a fresh long shot I think. I love Patch and JV, Lee always tries and IWC is a huge threat. I would play them all in Exotics with a true long shot. I’m wondering how much the first two legs of the TC took out of Classic Empire and Lee. We’ll know soon. Some of the long shots going have not competed in this class company before, but even when you know, you never know. Godspeed and safe and sound all.
Did you know that Yorkiepoo Princess had a rough trip in her last race on 5/19. She was mid pack out of 11 when she was steadied and finished next to last. Three works since then, so hopefully she’s no worse for the wear. Love her. Love and Hugs, JB

10 Years Ago-Rags to Riches – 2007 Belmont Stakes
The New York Racing Association, Inc Uploaded on May 14, 2011
It was a battle of the sexes, as the filly Rags to Riches gamely took on eventual Horse of the Year Curlin in the stretch and fought to the wire, emerging with a head victory and becoming the first of her sex to win the Belmont in 102 years.
Both Rags to Riches and her half-brother Jazil had the same mother — Better Than Honour. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xhrOk7jjTI

Dear Zenny and Z Fan Family,
Haven’t had a chance to check in until tonight. We’re in a huge rain/hail storm . . .
so exciting as long as all of the animal family are snug in their ‘homes’. Will catch up tomorrow hopefully. Been a busy last few weeks. God’s blessings
and love to you all,
Elizabeth
Just saw on Bloodhorse.com that Classic Empire is out of the Belmont. Foot Abscess. Makes IWC look pretty good. CE has had such bad luck this year. Hope he heals up and gets a chance to show how good he is.
I just saw this also…..this guy can not catch a break….needs rest to finally get that abscess cleared up for good. Thought he was the best in first to legs althought he won neither….got absolutely mugged in derby and came charging back for fourth. Was impressed with his Preakness run. Kind of throws the whole thing up for grabs….so I guess I will jeer for Sunday’s grandboy
Peggy just text me about CE. Poor baby; hope he heals well and soon. Since my Dubai, abscesses scar the wits out of me. But of course, he wasn’t as lucky as CE to have a caring trainer who will do what’s absolutely best for him. Love and Hugs, JB
Poor Patch. Gate 12. At least he will only have 11 inside instead of 19. He is a closer so hopefully it won’t be too bad. With Johnny V up, he should be able to stay out of trouble.
Yes, better than the No. 20 spot. Godspeed; praying Uncle Johnny can navigate well and keep them both safe. Love this courageous boy. Love and Hugs, JB
Thanks for the great new photos of Zenyatta and her new filly. She is so precious glad all is well. sure am hoping she learns how to dance from momma. Our hearts are full that she had a girl. Not sure if there will be more at zenyatta’s age, but she is a tough cookie! who knows. all our love to the connections, Team z, Lanes end, etc. It has been a wonderful ride. We love you all,
Does anyone know how Rivers did last weekend? I did not see anything posted here.
I hope he won, but even if he didn’t, I just want him to be safe & healthy.
Also, did Ziconic race last weekend, or is his next race still coming up?
Good luck to Gormley in the Belmont! Wish I could be there to see him.
I’m still praying for you Royal Mo. Hope that you are healing quickly & will soon begin to start your retirement.
Rivers finished 7th out of 8. Equibase notes said …well placed, swung six path and weakened. Hope he’s OK. He’s got a terrific record 34 Starts: 17 wins, 8 seconds and 4 thirds.
ZI raced on 5/27/17 and finished 9th of 12. Notes said he broke in and a bit slowly. Poor baby; hope he came back OK. No works since that race. Love our Chestnut Prince.
Found these notes on Royal Mo from Horse Racing Nation Blog. Don’t know how official they are.
Royal Mo continues to do well after his surgery. The inside sesamoid on his right front was completely shattered.
He is still at New Bolton and the bandages from the surgery have been removed.

Judy, Diane and Kathy, I’m glad you enjoyed looking back at Queen Z’s impressive background. She has been retired for almost seven years now and her story is as exciting now as when it was actually happening.
Our beautiful Queen is one of a kind. She’s given us so much joy and we’ve shared her sadness too; hope she knows how loved she is. Thank you for sharing the memories. It’s so uplifting to go back and watch her racing videos. Still brings me to tears to see how magnificent she was on the track and still is as a Mama. Love and Hugs, JB
Was on a very short KY visit the past couple of days and just saw Holy Bull on Monday! We watched him come out of his stall and go for a bath. I just can’t believe this!!
Oh, how unpredictable life can be. Must be a shock for you.
Same thing happened with our Peggy and her beautiful Quiet American. He passed within days after she visited him.
It’s a blessing, though, that you got to see him and I know; as Peggy said, he and Quiet are running the fences in Heaven. RIP beautiful boys. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Donna A., Sheena, Sandy and Judy B.,
I am saddened by this news. RIP Holy Bull, beautiful boy. Condolences to all connections.
Sandy, my sincere sympathy to you, too. As JB said, it is a blessing that you saw him before his last day on earth. I know it comforted Peggy that she got to see QA before he left us. Bless both of these remarkable stallions — now in the company of angels. :-(
Run free and happy Holy Bull. Grandsire of my sweet Muchie. You sure “done” good with him. How nice that he spent his whole stud career and beyond at one farm!

@Sandy–How wonderful that you got to see him ! It seems like I remember someone on the blog getting to see Cigar, just before his passing.
I put a lengthy blog about Barnaby and Traveller’s new and dashing “pirate” fly masks, as well as a few other topics, back on Page 6 which stayed in moderation for several days and then just disappeared. Dom’t know what happened–was just the usual “horsey” stuff.
Love, LOVE the photos of our new Princess—isn’t she just absolutely gorgeous???? Wow!! And, Zenny has never looked more beautiful—and looks so happy with her new little girl.
So excited for Gormley in the Belmont–hope he runs his best race ever!! May all do their best and run safely.
@Terry Crow–so glad to have you back. Still hope to connect with you one of these years at the BC ! Am planning to pass this year, due to my other vacation plans—unless Zi is running in the BC, in which case I’ll buy a general admission ticket and somehow worm my way to the rail to watch him win !!!! So love that redheaded boy==know he’s going to do great things. Just hope GS gets to climb aboard again !!
Boss Mare Sue is at the Ashland Shakespeare Festival, in Oregon, until mid-next week and I am watching her kitty for her. After she gets back, it will be my turn and she will watch my bevy of felines until my return. This weekend, I will just go down to the farm and visit Barnaby and Traveller and let them have some time in the grass turnouts and give them their treats, as there will be no one to ride with me. With Traveller’s aversion to being tied, and the fact that they are so bonded that they have to do everything together, it’s too much of a hassle for me to try to ride him unless Sue is there. She can ride Travekker alone, as Barnaby will happily stand, tied up at the hitching rail, and watch them work—-good boy that he is !
Peaceful night to all in Z Land—and—GO, GORMLEY, GO!!!!!!!!!
