Hi everyone. Willow had a beautiful filly this morning at 5:00 AM. Thank God the foaling went easily and both of them are doing fine. Shes 3/4 TB and 1/4 Quarter Horse. Angela named her Zighetti (means Jocks in Italian) for her farm, Jocks Horse Farm. Going to see her tomorrow. Can’t wait. She’s adorable. Here are some photos Angela sent me. Love and Hugs, JB
Yes, Willow is a Gray. Like so many of them, her coat has gotten lighter with age. She’s 17 now. I’m so relieved that everything went well and both of them are fine.
I misspelled the baby’s name; it’s Fighetti (Fee Get Tee) not Zighetti. I must have had Z on my mind. Not sure where Angela found that it means Jocks because the word for jockey in Italian is Fantino. I have to ask her. Love and Hugs, JB

It’s a very nice name. Willow looks proud. Glad that it went well. Figi has big ears, always a good sign.

Eagles over the Cliffs: biggest upset in Epsom Derby in 43 years
June 3, 2017 Kellie Reilly in Brisnet
A 40-1 chance, ridden by a little-known jockey with only three winners over the past two years, sprang the biggest boilover in the last four decades of the Epsom Derby (G1).
That’s one way to describe Saturday’s upstart Wings of Eagles and Padraig Beggy, who delivered an impeccably timed move in his first Derby ride. But put another way, it’s not entirely a sentimental tale, for Wings of Eagles was actually an overlooked member of the formidable Coolmore team trained by Aidan O’Brien. http://www.brisnet.com/content/2017/06/eagles-cliffs-biggest-upset-epsom-derby-43-years/

Saeed Bin Suroor interview – lengthy but important read
Three and easy as Godolphin mainstay sets his sights on another Derby
The trainer tells Steve Dennis it’s just like old times and he’s happy about it

Ferguson steps down as chief executive at troubled Godolphin
‘My stepping down will allow everyone to draw a line under things and move forward. This course of action is best for everyone’
By Lee Mottershead Racing Post JUN 6 2017
John Ferguson has announced his resignation as Godolphin chief executive following Monday’s revelations that his relationship with the operation’s longest-serving trainer Saeed Bin Suroor had broken down.
Ferguson told the Racing Post his parting with Sheikh Mohammed’s global racing and bloodstock superpower was “best for everyone”, admitting his employment within the organisation had become “untenable”.

Dear BGG,
Thanks for posting these articles on the apparent Godolphin Chief Executive and Racing Manager shake-up. It seems that Saeed Bin Suroor will be happy now.
Good Luck to John Ferguson! He will land on his feet and do fine, I think.

My Dear Z Aunties:
Auntie Judy came to see us today and fed Mama some orange things. As much as I begged, she wouldn’t give me any; said I don’t have teeth yet. I settled for my usual snack. Love and Hugs, FIGI

Dear Judy B.,
As Max says, Figi is very smart! Talking and typing, impressive indeed, Hahaha. :-)
Just be patient, Figi, you will get some of those orange things in the not too distant future.
Thanks for posting the photos, JB. She is just precious, what a little dear. ❤️
