We know you’ve all been waiting for more photos!
Team Z and Lane’s End are proud to share these images from the birth of Zenyatta’s second colt. Based on the response we’ve received, it seems that the world is as excited as we are.
We had a spectacular day on the farm, and we are saying our goodbyes for now. Mom and her little one are now relaxing, bonding, and spending some quiet time alone.
There are still more photos from this trip to come. We’ll post again soon with news about 13Z and his older brother!
Enjoy!

Dear Max, Sandy and Z Fans:
Actually I cannot take the credit for finding the Australia Racing site. It was Trina who left the link on Z’s Blog and she got the info from our Ashton.
I’m usually up well into the wee hours, so when I saw the race was scheduled to go at 3:10 AM New York time, I was able to watch it live. Thank you to Trina and Ashton.
Congrats to BC and Peter Moody, What a fabulous horse she is.
Love and Hugs, JB
HeidiK Vallejo,Ca (In Awe)
I was up and saw it too. Thanks to Trina’s link!! Talk about, making it look easy! She is a Super Mare in her own League.
Vicki B. near Hollywood Park
Thanks for that, Judy! I just could not get myself to stay up late last night, so I hoped there would be a link today. Unlike Moody, of course, I was not worried she would not “do it” again.

Dear Vicki B.:
You’re so welcome. I must say that I am always worried about the safety issues in these races. I was very relieved that she and all the other horses came through OK. Am still hoping that Hay List is none the worse for the wear. He finished well back. Hugs, JB

Dear Sheena:
You’re so welcome. The crowd and the love for this horse so reminds me of Z’s racing days. What a magnificent horse BC is. Love and Hugs, JB
HeidiK Vallejo,Ca (In Awe)
Just what I was thinking, Judy B! Did you see that crowd?
Roberta
I don’t know if this will get through, but now I am getting worried, and upset. There are so many postings missing; the only ones left are the ones with congradulations on the colts birth. All the ones that mention being worried, even though thanking everyone for all the pictures and videos, are gone. All the words about her being a part of our lives, and missing hearing about her, gone. All the kinds words to each other, the talk about Revelutionary, and then the references about Seattle Slew, gone! It’s not like there was anything said that was wrong to say, just that we were getting worried, and how much we loved her. None of this is like anything before, or like the whole Zenyatta team has ever been! What is going on??? We were told that pictures and videos would be coming, because they were going to be visiting the weekend after the birth, now nothing, not one word; then all that correspondence missing!! Please, someone from the Zenyatta team, respond to us, please!!
Arlene
Hi Roberta, At the bottom of each page are boxes of numbers you can click on for the previous pages. Hope you find them okay. This is a wonderful site. Lanes End must be busy with the foaling season.
Love, Zster Arlene
Max
Your comments on Slew and other things are still there. Don’t be worried. I am sure that Kyle and company have not forgotten us.
Peggy (N) South Georgia (PUR)
Roberta, I think they are both just fine. They have a great staff at Lane’s End and I think they would have let us know if something were wrong. They know how much we love them.
This is their very busy time not only with the Mom’s and Foals but also with the Stallions.
HeidiK Vallejo,Ca (In Awe)
Roberta… to find those comments you have to go back several pages. Nothing has been removed from this site and, yes, we are all worried since we haven’t heard anything. Rest assured, TeamZ will only remove comments if they are nasty and you have to keep in mind, that this is a very busy time of the year for all involved.
We’re all being “taught patience!”

The Peter Moody-trained Black Caviar remained undefeated when recording her 25th win in the Group I Darley TJ Smith Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday.
Black Caviar, ridden by Luke Nolen, defeated Epaulette with Bel Sprinter in third.

CHRB: No Spike in Sudden Deaths
By Eric Mitchell, The Blood-Horse Updated: Saturday, April 13, 2013 2:47 PM
Officials with the California Horse Racing Board vigorously contested reports that the state has seen any spike or even a significant increase in the number of sudden death cases statewide.
“Just to be clear: the number of sudden deaths has not spiked in California,” CHRB commissioner Bo Derek, chair of the commission’s Medication and Track Safety Committee, said during a meeting April 11. “Dr. (Rick) Arthur very clearly reported the number of sudden deaths has been fairly constant over the last 20 years, in the neighborhood of 20 per year. This is a longstanding international problem. Our medical team, with some assistance from our investigative staff, continues to collect data for their research into sudden deaths.”

Also independent and inquisitive! I really, really, REALLY like this red headed son of Zenyatta.
I hope they go back to Tapit.

Scamp is the perfect definition for him! He is beautiful! And, yes, going back to Tapit would be a great choice. As much as I would love to see a Hat Trick foal out of Z, I think this Tapit colt is splendid looking!

Kathy R.
Dear Black Caviar fans:
Peter Moody is just talking with the boys on Skysportsradio. He said he’d only had a two minute talk with Neil Werrett about her future, but they both see no need for retirement given her current condition. Moody thinks there is no reason why she couldn’t race on, all things being equal, with a return to the TJ Smith next year. But they don’t want to lose the invincibility factor with the mare. He said they (the connections) need to have a long talk. He hasn’t ruled out Ascot, but would like to see her farewell race in Australia because he thinks the racing public deserves that.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Kathy:
I was so impressed with the race track, the fans and the commentators. Very nicely done. Whatever they decide on BC’s future, she will go down in racing history as a wonder horse. She’s just amazing. She is loved in Australia the same way is loved here in the US. Love and Hugs, JB

Looks like Mike might be looking for a Derby mount. I am sure he will get some bad media attention for pulling up War Academy. If I were and owner I would prefer my horse back in the barn safely rather than being beaten to death for a place or show.
Well done “Our Mikie!”
