We know you’ve all been waiting for more photos!
Team Z and Lane’s End are proud to share these images from the birth of Zenyatta’s second colt. Based on the response we’ve received, it seems that the world is as excited as we are.
We had a spectacular day on the farm, and we are saying our goodbyes for now. Mom and her little one are now relaxing, bonding, and spending some quiet time alone.
There are still more photos from this trip to come. We’ll post again soon with news about 13Z and his older brother!
Enjoy!

I can’t believe that Revelutionary is without a jockey, he shows so much heart, just like his great grandfather Seattle Slew; I see traits of that great horse (one of my favorites of all time). I hope he gets a good jockey, and wins the triple crown; wouldn’t that be a hoot!!!! Thank-you so much for all of the kind words expressed. See how special Zenyatta is, she brings good people together; she is pure love from heaven, and brings it out in all she touches. I pray that she is alright!! Thank-you again, the Zenyatta family.

Thank you so much for this video. What a great race he ran and little did we know, we were witnessing history in the making; a Triple Crown Winner. What a legacy he has left us. RIP beautiful boy. Hugs, JB

JudyB. Thank you for this. It is a wonderful read. It has been said that Seattle Slew would do anything that he was asked to do. He would however never just follow orders. You had to show some respect to him and nicely ask him, only then would he cooperate. He was a very great horse with a strong mind and will.

Peter Moody favourite to train Black Caviar ’s $5m brother

Well now–another source, another answer FYI-some great photos in article!!
Hawkes team chosen to train $5M colt, the half-brother of Black Caviar
by: Matt Stewart From: Herald Sun April 12, 2013 11:40AM
EXCLUSIVE: THE Hawkes team will train Black Caviar’s $5 million yearling half-brother, giving the two-state stable its third entry into racing’s most famous equine family.
While not officially announced, the Herald Sun has learned owners BC3 Thoroughbreds has chosen the father and sons team to train the Redoute’s Choice-Helsinge colt.
Wayne Hawkes said today that he was “stoked”.
“If the rumours are true then we’re over the moon that we will be training the third member of this family,” he said.
The trainer of the colt will be announced officially on Channel Seven’s coverage of tomorrow’s ATC Derby meeting.
The Hawkes’ trained Black Caviar’s brother Moshe, a minor winner now at stud in Victoria, and train her $25 million half brother All Too Hard.
BC3 out-bid some of the world’s wealthiest buyers to purchase the Redoute’s Choice colt at the Sydney Easter Yearling Sale on Tuesday.
Kathy R.
Dear Keta:
Heard Andrew Bensley interview Simon Marshall (of BC3 Thoroughbreds). He (Simon) said the colt had been dragged in and out of his box before the sale and was really tired from the experience. So Simon will take him back to Victoria to their farm and let him roll about in the mud and become a horse before they break him in. He also told Andrew that they would take a week to make up their mind about a trainer, but it would be a Victorian. I think we just back off and let the news come from BC3 when they are ready to release it. As Simon told Andrew, he’s just a baby and needs some time to relax and grow.

Shanghai Bobby Sustained Pelvic Stress Fracture in Florida Derby
4/11/2013 Starlight Racing News
Shanghai Bobby sustained a pelvic stress fracture exiting the Besilu Stables Florida Derby. Dr.Larry Bramlage estimates a 90-day rest period and expects a complete recovery. Trainer Todd Pletcher stated, “Although it is disappointing that Shanghai Bobby has sustained this injury, perhaps this offers an explanation of his performance in the Florida Derby.”

Sincerest thanks to all of you in Zenyatta Land who have sent such loving and caring messages about Jericho. As of this morning, 4/12, he is chowing down his breakfast and standing in a brand new cast. Fever down. Hungry. Curious. Still not totally out of the woods, but LSA is providing superb care and i am so grateful for that. Katherine has been handling the ground detail so well. I’m leaving here on a 7 am flight to Atlanta and then to Baton Rouge. When i see him, i have this funny feeling that i will not want to leave him. This was the little horse described as a violent mean horse by his previous owner. Since I’ve been caring for him, he has been described as a sweet and gentle 6 year old with lots of personality who loves company and attention. I’m sure Katherine will back me up on that! Again, i am so happy to be back here on this blog and to know that we will always have loving friends here. And by the way, the photos of Zenny and Tapit’s foal are joys to behold. She is such a great mom…and i am still totally in love with her.

Loved the article about Seattle Slew that Steve Haskins wrote–but I couldn’t get all the way to the bottom of it. When my side bar got to the bottom of the page, the article wasn’t over!!
I am sure I have mentioned here before that Karen and Mickey Taylor have a home here and that I often talk to her here at the store. I just love seeing her,she is so nice and it is so fun to have her to talk racing with! I think I must have mentioned getting to see Slew at Longacres Rac Track, when they had an appreciation day for him after he won the Triple Crown. My friend Barney and I were on the rail and it was such a thrill!
@ Barnaby’s Auntie Trina–I am so dumb about computers–I signed up for Facebook once, just wanted to give the barest info–only did it to be able to see things about Zenny. Then I was never able to sign in again. Don’t know what password and id code I used, but it won’t let me in. Also,I don’t have a scanner to put photos on Facebook,or any idea how to do it,so a page for Barnaby doesn’t seem to be in the cards. Someday, maybe I can learn how to give him a web-site–don’t know how much THAT is–and I probably wouldn’t be able to manage that either!! I think the book “PC’S For Dummies” was written for me–I don’t even know how to Cut and Paste!!!

You’re so welcome. SS was one of my favorites too. Amazing legacy through AP. What AP didn’t get a chance to prove on the track, he certainly made up for in his progeny. My favorite son is Bernardini. Love that boy. Hugs, JB

Dear Sue Noel,
Don’t feel too bad — I don’t have a clue about cut and paste either!! I only know the very basic stuff. Do you think “PC’s for Dummies” would help me?

Love your posts! Have a lovely weekend! Hugs
