We know you’ve all been waiting for more photos!
Team Z and Lane’s End are proud to share these images from the birth of Zenyatta’s second colt. Based on the response we’ve received, it seems that the world is as excited as we are.
We had a spectacular day on the farm, and we are saying our goodbyes for now. Mom and her little one are now relaxing, bonding, and spending some quiet time alone.
There are still more photos from this trip to come. We’ll post again soon with news about 13Z and his older brother!
Enjoy!

Barbara Wood (Texas)
Dear all:
If you are inclined to pray for animals who need it, please do so now! Our Barbara Grimaldi, (Skip) has just adopted a horse who was in danger. We have all fallen in love with him He is a doll. Our Katherine Wheeler was going to get him in FL and take him to Louisiana so he could be near her adopted horse, Bluesy. Well, it’s a long story, but Jericho lacerated his leg on the trailer ride and made worse a previous unjury. Katherine has taken him to the vet hospital (she herself has had virtually no sleep in 30 hours and has to be in court tomorrow). Skip is flying down from New Jersey. Please pray for her travel safety and healing and wholeness for Jericho. Will update as I have word. Love you all to pieces. PUJ!

Dear Barbara:
I was so sad to hear what happened to Jericho and KW. I am so worried for Skip and all of them and I am praying hard that everything turns out well for Jericho. Hugs, JB

Dear Barbara Wood.
Read your touching story and would be joining our Z nation family in praying for Jericho, Katherine whom am sure feels really badly about the injury and Skip flying down from New Jersey for travel mercies. It is well so long as we trust in a God who is always faithful and never fails in his promises to heal our bodies be it a horse.
Thank you for posting this. Remain Blessed.
Elizabeth in NM
Barbara,
Will keep Skip and Katherine and Jericho in our prayers – praying for trumpets surrounding them (as in the Battle of Jericho). Barbara, blessings also for you. Love that we all help each other!
Thank you, Zenny, for this wonderful connection that we all can share.
Love and many blessings to everyone, especially for safe ‘deliveries’ of everyone involved in this experience, and Jericho’s complete recovery.
Much love,
Elizabeth
PS More than a post script – sweet dreams, Zenny and your 2 boys!

I will pray really hard for all.

Barbara Wood,
Sending prayers for Jericho Katherine and Skip. Its a shame that just as this horse is going to a rescue home……he gets severly injured. Hope its not serious and he can get to his new home and begin to recover. hugs

all possible positive thoughts and prayers to Skip, Jericho and Katherine. I understand that Jericho is at LSU – probably the vet clinic – and I’m sure he’s getting great care. Like Trina said, “power up, Jericho, dear one”

Jericho, if you remember, was the name of my beloved Spirit Dog who passed on Sept.27, 2011. I will ask him to do his very, very best for horse Jericho, our Barbara and Katherine. I know he will!

@Judy Berube, sure hope you get to Saratoga AND Belmont. Your research is impressive! Sending my thoughts to you, also, on the anniversary of Russ’ passing. How good of Trina to commemorate it. Also, I just read an article in the March 30th issue of Blood Horse: it’s Q&A with Peter Berube. He is the Gen Mgr of Tampa Bay Downs. It’s a good read. What jumped out at me is he is “an accountant by trade and a longtime racing fan who grew up in Rhode Island.” Any relation to your Russ, by any chance? Just wondering! He seems like a good guy and if really related to your Russ, then of course he would be!
Once again, thanks to all at LE for providing us with this forum.
Goodnight, Zenyatta and Sons. (Sitcom material? LOL.)

Dear Anne:
I’m really excited about the possibility of seeing Eblouissante up close.
Skip was kind enough to send me the article on Peter Berube and he is the right age to be the son of a cousin of Russ’ from Cumberland, R. I. He dose have a resemblance to Russ’ Dad, Edward.
How is your Rightful Image doing? Love and Hugs, JB

I’m wondering why we haven’t gotten any pics of Zenny and 13 in the pasture? We had a number of them with 12, but I’m getting worried that there’s something wrong. Also, we haven’t heard anything from The Mosses, which I expected we would. Does anyone know anything?

Ah, I will Pray for some new pics of the Queen and the young Prince and maybe of Prince ZB tomorrow. I know its a lot of trouble for team Zenyatta to get all those pics and we honestly do appreciate all their hard work. It’s never the intention of Z nation family to be ungrateful. If we sound needy, please forgive us. When you are ready to post new pics, we would greatly enjoy them. LOL to all.

Dear Lou in TX, Happy birthday! Here’s an updated and expanded revision of your poem from last year. Hope you like it.
A Birthday Poem for Lou Naylor (aka Llnay) in TX As She Turns 71
(April 11, 2013)
Revised
Our dear Lou felt she was in heaven
When in 2011
She was so lucky
As to be
In Kentucky
At Queen Z’s
First Breeders’ Cup party
And was able Z live to see
On closed-circuit TV.
The life-sized portrait of the Queen
Was on display
That day,
And Team Z was seen
Meeting and mingling,
Setting Z-ster hearts tingling–
It was quite a do!
The menu was hearty too,
And, as a Texan, Lou
Especially loved the barbeque.
Back home in Waxahachie
Lou has tons of fun
With her grandkids, who number three—
They keep our dear Lou young
As she turns 71!
Happy birthday, Lou, and many, many more!
Max
Happy Birthday, Lou. 71 is the new 31!
Trina. You’ve done it again. Great poem.

I read through the comment section today looking to see if I had missed recent photos of Zenyatta and Baby 13Z. I see that others are concerned too. We are extremely grateful to have been allowed a glimpse into the life of Zenyatta and I know that if there is a problem with either her or the colt, her faithful will be bereft. But, the worry and speculation is probably worse. If there is news, good or bad, just a word would be appreciated.

Can’t believe Castellano did that unless he knows something about the health of Revolutionary that we don’t. If I were a jock, I would not want to tick off Pletcher and WinStar. Perhaps Gary Stevens can pick up the mount.
It is a bit worrisome that we are not getting any updates on Zenyatta and Baby Z. Hopefully, they are just very busy at the farm.

Good morning to all, to the Queen and the young Prince I hope you both had sweet dreams, Here is wishing the Queen and her family including her Z nation family a wonderfully beautiful day full of joy and Blessings.
I am positive all is well with the Queen an her young Red Prince. We will hear from her team in due time, the right time, we just have to learn to be patient. LOL to all.

Dear Maureen phi-llips:
You are such a wise lady – beautiful post, as usual. Many thanks hugs KathyR.
shirleeinindy
Maureen I think Mike has a potential Derby mount in a horse that is running Saturday in the Arkansas Derby or the Blue Grass. One of Bafferts horses. If that doesn’t pan out, it would be nice to see him on Revolutionary. The great thing about Mike is that he will do everything he can to bring the horse home safely. I know he has had some bad press about pulling up horses in the past. But those horses are alive and well today because he did that.

We all are so grateful for your pictures and videos of the Queen, and her prince #1, but we are missing pictures and no video of prince #2. Zenyatta is so special, and you have allowed her to be part of our lives; we miss her terribly when a week goes by without seeing pictures or videos of her, and now her little sons. I know that I watch old videos of her, and son #1 over and over again, and everyday check her website; since she was getting close to her delivery time, I was checking about 10 times a day. I am 71 years old, and live in an assisted living facility; I feel forgotten by my family, but I look forward to seeing Zenyatta, and her little family. Zenyatta is more then a horse to us; she is a gift from heaven! Please give us more pictures, and a video of her and her new son!!

Love and prayers to Jericho–Power Up Sweet Boy-so you can enjoy your new home and all the love you will receive.
@ Trina–Thanks for the e-mail!! I’m so bad about checking e-mails,sometimes I have hundreds before I do it–it’s just lucky I went in yesterday. I check this place more often—I love it here SO much!!Hope everyone used the link to see Little Red on the Instagram–I love that photo—he already looks so sure of himself. He’s really going to be something!!
One of the sweet ladies I shop for at the store (we still do home deliveries),who has also been a friend for years, had her care-giver do some shopping this morning and drop by my desk with a carrot and apple for Barnaby! Isn’t that great?? When he gets back to East Fork, she will bring Paula down in the car to see him. I will lead him out to the road so that she can finally see and touch him. She will love it (she has pictures of him at home)–and,so will he–he LOVES to meet new people. I really have never seen such a sociable horse–he really loves interacting with humans. I keep marvelling at what a wonderful man his human dad must have been to bring him up in such a loving way to make him so trusting.
Barnaby’s influence on Traveller really HAS been pretty amazing. She,in the past, was always very flighty–running off if anything startled her, running off when Sue would come to catch her and just being fearful of any new thing. Barnaby’s reaction to something new,or something a bit startling is to raise his head in such a way as to look 17 hands tall, instead of 16, and stare at the new thing,or situation, and then just think about it and, usually, decide “oh,that’s no big deal”. Of course he comes to the fence immediately when we approach.and,in East Fork, when he hears and sees either of our cars!! Hence,Traveller has learned to do the same. Though she still cannot be tied (she breaks lead ropes) ,,his serenity in the cross ties has made her much calmer there.
Happy day everyone! Hope the sun is shining on Lane’s End today–with a soft breeze to ruffle all the manes we love!
Max
Sue. Thanks for this. Barnaby is a very wise horse like Z, and a good role model for everyone, not just Traveller. Love your stories and Trina’s poems and read them always even if I do not always comment. Probably the same for many. Keep them coming as you and Trina have an appreciative audience.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Sue–thanks for the love and prayers, and also for the great Barnaby/Traveller updates. Our boy has been known to break a halter when left tied. Someone must have left him tied in his past. He behaves perfectly ground-tied. Give them both kisses on the nose from me.
