We know you’ve all been waiting for more photos!
Team Z and Lane’s End are proud to share these images from the birth of Zenyatta’s second colt. Based on the response we’ve received, it seems that the world is as excited as we are.
We had a spectacular day on the farm, and we are saying our goodbyes for now. Mom and her little one are now relaxing, bonding, and spending some quiet time alone.
There are still more photos from this trip to come. We’ll post again soon with news about 13Z and his older brother!
Enjoy!

Keta, Thanks as always. The pic of the two of them with their heads together is priceless. How sweet.

Still tears of joy at this wonderful news! So happy for Z that she has another “little one” to care for. Hopefully, this brands in her mind that at least once a year she has a bundle of joy and can enjoy a role she was obviously born to fulfill — that of a wonderful momma! Somewhere in the recesses of her mind, she obviously would not have a concept of time as we know it, but, she always did enjoy structure and training, and as John has informed us, horses are happiest when they know what is expected. Thankful prayers that this giant baby boy gave her no difficulty. Thanks to Team Z and all at Lane’s End for sharing this with us. Z continues to carry with her the very best the sport has to offer every time she crosses the finish line!! (Borrowed from a quote by Dottie). Hugs to all!
P.S. Thanks for the care and concern expressed by many buddies here in the blog and Forum. I had successful triple bypass surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago and am now recovering nicely at home. I expect a full recovery and should be better than new very soon. Hugs to all. Ann Maree

What a beautiful gift that God has given us. Zenyatta and all of her team are truly blessed. These seemingly small things restore our faith in the greatness of the universe. Shout out to tough as nails Rachel. Extra big shout out to Royal Delta and Animal Kingdom. Thank you Mosses and John for sharing. Sincerely, Beverly…p.s. Lanes End Rocks

Food for thought. I watched this morning repeat episode of Inside Information – one segment was on the New York gelding Evening Attire. They should his present gray self, as well as, a picture of him as a baby.
Remarkable to see his chestnut self change to the gray. However, both his parents were gray. Alot more gray in is lineage. Z13 is going to be spectacular no matter what his colour is. How can you go wrong having the parents he has?

WOW, I zoomed the other pictures of the colt and it was amazing the white that showed up in his georgeous coat, when he grows up it won’t matter what color he is for he is going to be Great, like his mama…and probably as white as his daddy Tapit.

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!

Not trying to change the topic from our celebration of 13Z, but thought that I should post this because the show is tomorrow. Metro Meteor, the horse artist, will appear on the Today Show on April 4. He paints with brushes and his work is in demand. He’s another example of how intelligent horses can be with unique second careers. They just need a chance.

That is great, Max! I have a copy of a painting done by Zenyatta some years ago, and I just love it. It was part of a set done by a number of horses, and they are all different. This guy seems much more into it, however. Thanks!

Dear Max, Vicki B and Z Fans:
Wonderful story, Max. Thanks for sharing. He’s helping other horses too.
I clicked on the link in the article to the OTTB Blog in Bloodhorse and did you see in that article, Mrs. K compares him to “… Zenyatta dancing in the paddock” when he is painting. Too cute. Hugs, JB
Max
JudyB. I am convinced that Zenyatta can do anything and everything to perfection. Looking forward to watching MM tomorrow. I hope that this interview starts a trend for more coverage of horses and their stories on tv.

Dear Max:
That would be great. Anything that would spotlight the need for funding for the care of retired race horses would be so welcome. They all deserve a chance at a life after giving their all on the track. Hugs, JB
Max
Zsters. Looks like the interview with MM on the Today Show has been changed to April 9. Will give us more time to plan to see it. Here’s the link with the new time.

Another Mama’s Boy for Z!! He’s a cutie I guess he’ll be “Stayin in Z Game” (Racing game that is) like his famous mom!! I’m glad both mom and baby are well.

Was surprised to see Chestnut, however after looking over bloodlines, he reminds me of his great grandad, A.P. Indy, if so, WOW!!

Ingrid,
Agree with you. You said it so very well.
Paul
Zenyatta, congratulations on the birth of your second foal!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You must be really happy!!!!!!! You’re probably very tired as well. Your time with foal no. 2 is very well deserved. I love the photos of 13z. Keep them coming! Your sons will be champions one day. Look who they take after. You, Bernardini, and Tapit. In the meantime, take perfect care of your little one and don’t forget about your one year old. I heard about his birth on TVG yesterday. Are you looking forward to the Kentucky Derby, girl? Who do you like? I haven’t decided yet. There is so much going on that I can’t keep up with it all. I also have to work, sleep, eat, take care of myself, and all that good stuff. They seem to be taking great care of you and your foals at Lane’s End Farm. How are John Shirreffs, Dottie Shirreffs, and Jerry and Ann Moss? Do they come by to visit you and your children every so often? I’m sure they do, time permitting. I’m sorry I haven’t been writing you more often, but I sometimes get either busy, tired, or a combination of the two. I’ll try harder to make time for it in the future. You are definitely worth it and so are your foals. I wish I were there at Lane’s End Farm with you and your foals. I might never leave. TVG sometimes shows replays of your old races. That’s so people will never forget. You’re worth it and Mike Smith knows it. So does Mario as well as the TVG commentators. Speaking of Mike Smith, does he ever come out to visit you? If he does, do you know who it is or do you just assume he is another employee at Lane’s End Farm? Have you been fed well lately? What about your foals? I’d feed all three of you if I could. Anyway, enjoy your time with your newborn and I’ll write you next time.
Elizabeth in NM
Paul,
You covered a bunch of the questions I think most of us must have. Agree that future champions must include Zenyatta’s princes.
