      Thanks for posting the video link of Gormley’s win. He is a handsome colt and ran a great race. Hope lots of good things come his way! Nice to see John’s opinion of him, too. Pretty dicey having a riderless horse out of the gate. Glad no one was hurt.

        That was a strange situation as the jockey was not on the horse when the gates opened. The horse however seemed to notice a difference and soon went off to the right out of the race. A few years ago Fort Larned dumped his jockey at the start, took off down the rail, led all the way and raced to the end. That was kind of amazing. He wanted to win.

        • I remember that! Fort Larned was determined to run his race with or without rider. :-)
          It was weird that S. Gonzales moved off the horse just as the gates opened. I think their inquiry resulted in a return of money to bettors on Secret House and Gonzales since they declared them a non-starter. Maybe a fine, also?

          Secret House did seem to know something was amiss and went off to the right out of traffic. Smart fellow!

    RIP Jacob Hall who died early yesterday from wounds inflicted by a 14yr old boy with a gun.The shooting took place in a playground at his school in South Carolina and his parents have posted a photo of them telling him goodbye.He was 6years old.So very sad Sheena.

      Dear Sheena and Z Fans:

      Didn’t get to say goodnight yesterday. I was painting jump poles over the weekend at Hudson’s barn. Amanda and Hudson have been selected to be in a clinic next Saturday at the barn that will be supervised by an Olympic judge. She is totally excited. We decided to spruce up the jump poles with new paint. Was quite worn out by the end of the day. Painting continues tomorrow.

    Such a sad story about Jacob Hall I had heard he had been critically injured but didn’t know he had died.I shared the photo on my timeline of his parents saying goodbye yet there will be more deaths.
    The ratties were left to starb I told them to sack their staffs.Baby Fibbs looked so cute.I saw the lovely photos of the pom pals.Mango is so happy Judy is home but she will need more than a few days to recuperate.I hope they can find Jade a good home.Gladstone has been helping with the dusting at the treasury and there was an interview with Mother Theresa she says Larry rules the roost in parts of no 10 but hasn’t sad on her chair yet!That’s what she thinks he tweeted!Theresa had a grey trouser suit on yesterday and plain black suede shoes I hope we get to see some kitten heels during the next few days.A much more formal style of government with her no cosy chats on the sofa like Call me Dave.Of course it started with Call me Tony.Manthlet is due back today seems her boyfriend is called Fuzzy Bear and he plays polo.We have the 50th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster later this month when 144 people died 116 of them children.Very dark days for Wales in 66’You will see the whole story if you google it.Remember to turtle.I am.Love and hugs to you,kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO

    I have no interest on anything Kim or her relatives are doing. As you say, there are way more important matters! Heartiest congratulations to Found! Great news that Cirrus will be at opening ceremony. That photo of Jacob Hall’s parents saying goodbye was so heartbreaking. The ratties were asking who was in charge in light of the snacks being gone…THEY are, of course. Yes, they need to start over with a new staff! Fibbs as a baby was just adorable. Dr. Jill’s poms are just beautiful. All so photogenic! I hope Judy get steadily better. I feel so bad for her. I know she’s heartbroken that she has to give up her beloved Jade. Give Larry time…he WILL sit on Mother Theresa’s chair. Manthlet and Fuzzy Bear…sounds like a match made in heaven! I will Google the Aberfan disaster.     All three of Aidan’s horses arrived home last night and are in fine fettle this morning Frankie was so happy to be part of such a historical day.Found may be back out in the Champion stakes and come out to the Breeders cup!Aidan will decide in a few days.
    Modialiste arrived in Keeneland yesterday for the Shadwell turf.

    I loved the article by Steve Haskin, he is a man who loves the horses and gets them.
    It is inspiring to feel their beauty, power and courage. He cares for the champs and the claimers alike and hopes all horses find a forever home when their racing days are done.Amen.
    Always good to read about Chromie, we are all behind him and rooting for him.

    October 4 Cherokee Devotional

    Paths are dappled with soft October sunlight, and the grass has caught all colors of leaves. Breezes blow warm and cool, and a downy woodpecker raps on a tree and squawks at a squirrel. It is autumn, and fawns with spots only partially gone stand and watch a passerby with little fear.

Walk every chance you have to absorb the serenity and peacefulness of this season. It moves so fast, and we suddenly find ourselves in another season before we have enjoyed this one. Let it pace your heart and lower your blood pressure. It will sweeten your thought and soften your voice as a gift from God.

    I have to be at work 45 minutes earlier today, so that really puts the pinch on me! Oh, I hope Hovis keeps warm enough. I don’t think his mum realizes how delicate he is! I just want the Kardashians to go away. I could care less about anything they are doing. I hope Judy takes proper care of herself. Diane and Ken are so kind. Lovely gesture on their part. Yes, I’m excited about the prospect of a watercolor of my girl! I have faith that Diane will be able to capture her essence. I’ll bet that pigeon is related to Percy! Who know what Boo’s numbers will drop to with all attention going to the baby! Truly amazing the price tags for colts. I’ll look for that video of Found’s win.     Cathryn Sophia Unlikely for Breeders’ Cup Distaff

    Though firm plans have yet to be made for his filly’s next start, owner Chuck Zacney reports that it is unlikely that Cathryn Sophia (Street Boss) will start in the GI Breeders’ Cup Distaff. Zacney said he and trainer John Servis are leaning toward going instead in the GI Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint, but added that the Oct. 22 GII Lexus Raven Run at Keeneland is also an option.
