Tiny moss pads decorate the path to the woods. Bright green and glistening like pins in a pincushion, they thrive where earlier there seemed to be no life at all. The same potential rests in us, if we could only believe.
Springtime feathers the wild plum in a profusion of fragrant blooms, but now it stands in dormant roughness until its season is due. Other trees are individually lighted with brilliant oranges and reds, and the sumac lies in groves of burgundy and crimson.
Each tree and each growing thing stands in its place and looks like everything else, until its season comes to stand in the light. The same privilege is ours if we stand faithfully and eagerly expect our season to come. Wait for it, and it will surely come.
To make medicine is to engage upon a period of fasting, thanksgiving, prayer, and thanksgiving.

Dewhurst and Lockinge winner Belardo has been retired to stud Roger Varian has announced after a setback in his training. He was due to race at Ascot on Champions day.Roger paid tribute to him on his website saying he was such a pleasure to train.Wishing him luck in his new career.

I’m sorry to hear this about young Sam. That’s a blow to Nicholls to lose him even for a little while.
I was looking at the Canadian International results. Moore has won the last 3 years on different horses. It was Joshua Tree in 2013, not 2014. Stoute has won with Moore the last two years. If their luck holds and they are together again with Dartmouth, it might be an interesting result. The Queen would not send her horse that long distance if there was no chance. She knows Woodbine very well. She’s been there many times. The US entries among others are The Pizza Man and World Approval. Ballydoyle is sending in Idaho.

It’s very sad when you see her in that race so full of life and promise, and to know as you watch that she was just weeks away from death. For some reason, her passing reminded me again of Caixa Electronica. He was a claimer whom Mike Repole turned into a real winning racehorse. He was a wonderful, dedicated race horse. He died suddenly after a training collision with another horse at Belmont. I always think of him whenever there is any race at Belmont or Aqueduct. Huge loss. Mike Repole was very upset at the time. Thank you, Max, for the video. She was lovely! For some reason, her death has effected me in a profound way. I love horses, and by horses, I mean thoroughbreds. And I love horseracing. Thanks Max. She was lovely. I love horses, and by horses I mean thoroughbreds.
watching that race was painful, and I was deeply saddened. I guess Barbaro’s owner was right when she said: “Grief is the price we pay for love”.
I have a suggestion for those who post RIPs for horses. I do not always know who these horses are. I would like to know because their lives mean a lot to all of us who love and admire horses. If possible, please try to tell us some details about them when you note their passing.

There is never a lot of detail on the In Memory of Racehorses I follow only their names and where they died.We usually find out more about the UK horses that die but sadly if a horse is not well-known there is never a word on RP.One More Go was trained by Dr Richard Newland who got the Grand National winner Pineau de Re(sp)in 2014

Thanks for the news on Unusual Heat. He goes to pasture after a successful final season at stud. Hope he lives a long, happy time in retirement; he has certainly earned it.
Thank-you to everyone who wished your Canadian friends a Happy Thanksgiving.
I am sorry I was not online earlier to wish you a Happy Columbus Day, hope it was a good one.
Too many horses dying, all we can hope is that they were truly loved and cared for.
Young ones so full of promise and older retired ones gone too soon.It is very sad.
I am touched when I see a tribute which show respect and how much the horse was appreciated. They give their all and each and every one is precious and deserves love.
Dear BGG
Nice to hear a happy story like the one of Unusual Heat being retired from stud and leaving such an impressive legacy. Enjoy your days in the paddock Heat, wishing you a long and happy retirement.
There should be a clearinghouse in our minds to tell us in no uncertain terms that we don’t need to know everything there is to know. Too much of today’s information is trash. We learn things that we only have to unlearn later when we discover they are either not true or do not apply to us.
We are willing listeners, convinced that if we experience something, we can grow by it. Experience may have taught us a few things, such as not to put our hands in the fire and not to stand in traffic. But gathering experience by taking in endless information may not be good for us. Exposing our minds and hearts to filth is not only a waste of time and effort, it is also a waste of spirit. So judge carefully when you take in information-let it go if it is not good or necessary. Keep your mind fresh for things of the Spirit.

Dear Kathy.Back to work!I hope you enjoyed your day off.I have just been reading some trashy comments about Kate in the mailonline.Someone from the US said she resembled a grandma!I told her she was only jealous. They are on about her slim figure and her fake tan.I shared the article on my FB she is in the Netherlands for her first solo trip abroad. She has a powder blue Catherine Walker suit on.She could put on some weight though.
Zoe had a tense time watching the cubs did they win?I loved her conversation with Diane about the vet but she won’t need injections until next year.Gosh they are still in shorts in Arizona!Much colder here now and our long dry spell comes to an end this weekend. The boardwalk is down for Ceri hide we are trying to guess where the hide will be.What is the crazy clown fad that’s going on?Police over here are getting tired of all the nonsense someone with a baseball bat chased a little boy down the street and Halloween is near.Poor Grumpy cat couldn’t make it to the debate in St Louis I hope some of the animals make it to Vegas.I stayed up to see the debate on Monday morning I went to bed feeling a little crazy.Whoever wins will have our Mother Theresa to deal with.A no-nonsense type of girl.
Mr Fibbs was looking for a hug they got all their bizness licenses.Dolly hadn’t been posting in awhile but she caught a mouse!Sam TD may be off until mid November according to Paul.I remember when the short guy had a splenectomy he was back in 3 weeks but it doesn’t look as if Sam will have his spleen removed.Shadwell have spent well over £2 million on some yearlings today and they will go to Roger Varian.I haven’t heard anymore about bird brudder Jade yet but a lot of dogs have been put in carts by mango.Hope you have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO

Dear BGG,
Thanks for the news on Unusual Heat. He goes to pasture after a successful final season at stud. Hope he lives a long, happy time in retirement; he has certainly earned it.
Enjoy yourself, handsome boy!

When a child, my mother taught me the legends of the people, taught me of the sun and sky, the moon and stars, the clouds and storms.
