Happy Wednesday!
Ann and Jerry recently went to Lane’s End to visit Zenyatta and her colt. They had a blast and were thrilled to see how much 12Z has grown. Alys sent us a video and some photos to share with you.
Don’t forget to check back tomorrow, as we will be announcing some exciting details about the Breeders’ Cup Zenyatta Party!

Dear Alys, Team Z and The Mosses,
Looks like Zenny is dancing for peppermints
These days. She is such a character and do

And is soooo happy.

Dear Judy,
Thank you so much. That tells me where she is. I appreciate so much your finding that. She’s not too far from here. Melbourne not too terribly far away. Wonder if she’ll race at Gulfstream or Calder. Anything you see on her please post and I will too.
Thank You again, Soo much LOL, Peggy
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Max
Thank You also for helping keep track of Orfevre. Hope he’s doing good and Hope he races in the Japan Cup. Seems like we should be hearing something soon. Thank you soo much again. LOL, Peggy
Max
Peggy (N). Zenyatta was at her best in her last race. She was breathtaking coming home that day. The Arc and the Champions Day with Orfevre and Cirrus des Aigles in second in those races showed again that a horse does not have to be first to be a great racer and to be appreciated as a fine athlete. It’s a pleasure to learn about all these godly creatures.
BTW, am dreaming or is Zenyatta just getting more and more beautiful?
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Judy
I forgot to say a huge huge yippee, I know where she is……………………………………………….
Thank You…………………………………………..

Dear Max, Peggy and Z Fans:
I totally agree with you Max. Z is more beautiful than ever and The Prince, what a beautiful face he has.
Don’t know if you’ve seen this video of Musketier from the 6/24/12 Singspiel Stakes at Woodbine. Delrene Sims e-mailed it to me and it’s so exciting I thought you would enjoy it. You just have to click on the video on the right. Hugs, JB

Thank you so much for the pictures and the video. It’s great to see the Mosses visit so often. I know they really miss her alot. Her foal is huge and has looked like a yearling for months now. He looks so much like his mother. Looking forward to seeing if she has a grey foal with Tapit. I would love to see her bred with Frankel but imagine he’ll stand abroad.
harriett (Oklahoma)
Thanks for sharing the photos and video. Isn’t she just the most beautiful horse anyone has ever seen? And such a sweetheart!

Zenyatta, you are still the most gorgeous girl ever! 12Z is getting more handsome with the passage of time. He is so like his mother.

Dear Sign: Left you a little piece on the Cox Plate on the previous Blog – didn’t seem right to impose Australian racing too much on this wonderful story about the Mosses and their visit to the great and gorgeous Zenyatta (and the boy!). Cheers KathyR.

Well isn’t she still strutting that strut! How fun to see! Still gorgeous and full of herself, and sweet at the same time. BabyZ is so big, I just know he’s going to be a stunner one day. Thanks so much for sharing the video and pictures. You know, sometimes, when I need a pick-me-up, I go on youtube and either run through Z’s races or watch the BC 2009 (and even 2010, because we were there). We were so lucky to share a small part of Zenyatta’s racing journey. She was something special in so many ways, and still is, just magical. Thanks again.

Dear Everyone: I’ve just finished reading all the posts – the big thing that just jumps out is the absolute pure love that comes from this God given mare and flows through the Mosses, the folk at Lanes End and out to all her fans in the US, Canada, Britain and down here in Australia. I’ve never seen anything like it and I can tell you all it just wouldn’t happen down here. But it’s just impossible not to feel at peace in an often miserable world when you look at those photos and the video, and read what folk are writing. And it just makes me feel really, really blessed to have come upon Zenyatta, and to be able to take part in this fantastic site. So a HUGE hug to you all, and much love from me. KathyR.
Darlene Daniels
Kathy,
A huge hug back to you too. I’m not trying to be argumentative when I say this, but with all due respect to Black Caviar, whom we all love, no other horse or owners have ever had the charisma, charm, beauty, talent and magic as Zenyatta. I wonder if Zenyatta was Australian if things would be different down there. I just think it might. I believe God has given Zenyatta. as a special treat , to all of us who were looking for, or needing something really special in our lives that immanates love, peace, and perfection, and a connection to other people who all share the same love and values. I know every since I discovered this site my life has not been the same, and I have always known God led me to it and to Zenyatta. She came into my life at a time when I really needed her, and I thank God everyday for her and the Mosses for sharing her with us.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
She IS a blessing, isn’t she? I just can’t help wondering if there might be other horses out there who could draw us in like this, if only they were given love and care and respect. Far too many are just “used” by their owners. I knew there was something special about Z. from the first time I saw her.
Darlene Daniels
Dear Barbara,
I know exactly what you mean. It may sound strange, but I remember feeling “in love” with Zenyatta before I actually ever laid eyes on her. Mike Smith was speaking so highly of her with a spirit of awe, on the Jockey series, when I first heard of her. I couldnt wait to watch her next race and I have been hooked ever since. Zenyatta and “ALL of it” has just been heaven sent. In all fairness I must say Black Caviar and Frankel are magical horses, but only Zenyatta was given to the Mosses. And their story together along with all of Team Z, makes this fairy tale what it is.
suew/Va
Darlene…just to add a little something to your post about Zenny and the Mosses, I recall an interview in which Ann told how Zenny chose them. Apparently when they first went down to see her after David picked her out, Z rested her head on Ann’s shoulder. The connection was there from the first moment they saw one another. It was all part of a divine plan, to my way of thinking, that ended up creating a unique bond among thousands of people. Mike said many times Zenny ws a gift from God…she was and is.

Dear Kathy R,
We are sooo very lucky to have Zenny, The Mosses, Lanes End and Team Z.
It is very unusual in US racing as well. The Mosses are very special people
and are the couple that just keeps on giving and sharing everything about Zenny.
John Sherriffs, her trainer, was the same way, he shared her easily with her fans.
Of course, it does have a lot to do with Zenny and her love for people which is a
bred temperment, but the farm where she was foaled Winter Quarter Farms, is also a very special place where love abounds for all their foals and yearlings.
We are so very glad to have an international flavor to our site, it brings such
depth of information for around the world about racing, horses and everything
equine.
Thanks so much for finding us, this site and being a part of racing with us.

Dear Kathy:
It’s truly a blessing that Mr. & Mrs. Moss allow Z’s fans into her life as much as they do. We are very lucky that they understand how much she means to us and how much we look forward to following her babies as they grow and train for their turn as racers. I love your Nelly and I hope her connections allow the fans to be part of her broodmare career. I know they are well aware of how loved she is by her fans, so maybe they will keep her available through Facebook or maybe even a Blog like this. Love and Hugs back to you, JB
Marshall (NC broad)
Dear Kathy R.,
Amen! I agree with you completely. There is abundant love and peace emanating from this Zenyatta site. We all feel it and are soothed by our Zenny.
So glad to have you as part of our special family!
Hugs!

There she is…our Ca. queen!! <3 Thank you for sharing them! :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! What a great way to start my day this Thursday morning. I wasn’t feeling well yesterday so didn’t spend time on the computer so I only just found this and already I feel better. Zenyatta looks so beautiful in her new role as a broodmare and evidently she still loves her humans Ann and Jerry which makes my heart so happy. Thank you for sharing with us!!
Darlene Daniels
Celeste,
I hope you are feeling better. Zenny is very healing for whatever ails us, isn’t she? She certainly soothes my soul.
evy
Zenny looks wonderful…thanks for the update. Her colt is looking good, as well.

Thanks for the wonderful photos and video of Zenyatta and Z12. Her coat is so beautiful that you can just tell how happy and well cared for she is. The love between Zenyatta and Ann is so evident in the pictures and our boy is growing up sooo fast.
This really made my morning.
Go Mucho Macho Man!
Trisha-VA
Oh my! At last something about our gorgeous Zenyatta. Isn’t she the most beautiful Queen you have ever seen? Just look at her coat shinning and healthy. Yes you can tell there is so much love between Ann and Zenyatta. They love each other soooo much. Well, what’s not to love. Just look at 12Z . I’ll bet he is a hand full. He is going to be a beauty also.
I cannot tell you how very much the pictures and video’s are appreciated. We miss her so very much. There is a special place in all our hearts for her that will always need to be filled.
Thank you Ann, Jerry, Lanes End and everyone.
Love hugs and kisses to all and especiall big sloppy smooches to Zenyatta and 12Z

Dear Lanes End, Team Z and The Mosses,
I noticed 12 Z is liking Ann’s I phone. Maybe he will get one for Christmas
so they can TANGO, like Ann and Zenny used to.
So very much seemed 12 Z has Zenny’s temperment. And love to see
mom enjoying life and dancing for pears and peppermints.

The photos and video are just wonderful! Z looks gorgeous and how happy it made me to see that she still does her dance step! It gives me hope she will still be “stepping out” when she is twenty. Can we ever get enough of this magnificent creature? No, of course not. And the boy !!! What a looker, the little Prince is so handsome and sweet. I recall reading/hearing that Jerry said he is asked quite often about the name for 12Z and he and Ann spend many a night discussing names for him. Coming up with the “right” name must be weighing heavy on them (I’ve said it before, but will mention again….please no Ann’s Dream or Jerry’s Dream). I so enjoy seeing Ann and Jerry with their girl. But I have to confess, I would still so very much love to see a photo of John Sherriff with Z and 12Z. And of course the videos are never long enough.
