Happy New Year!

We’re beginning 2015 with a visit to Ocala, FL to check in with Ziconic. For the past few months he’s been learning the basics at Mayberry Farm, and we can’t wait to see him show off his new skills.

      Judy B, How cute is this!!! Sure brought a smile!! I wonder if the lady with Tinker, the mini, here in my area of Wi, has gotten ideas from this women and Spanky. She has brought her small dog into Tinkers act or part of the act. Not as trained as Spanky and her dog though. love n hugs, Sally B

    January 15 Cherokee Devotional

    The pond reflects a day of mist in gray tones. When the sky is blue, the pond is blue. Patterns like icewebs spread across the frozen surface in the middle of winter-so like we are when we take on the moods of others.
    Hills and lakes and fields are touched by the actions of the sky and wind. In the night season and all through the day changes take place. Sometimes the sky glitters with wings-sometimes it is softened by snowflakes. Man’s soul has a light like that of a lantern that is untroubled in the turmoil of wind and storm. But we must know what we are reflecting.

    My Grandchildren, be good. Try to make a mark for yourselves. Learn all you can.

    Dear Kathy.We survived the storm last night and it’s gone colder but is positively tropical compared to Max!!Nicky has decided to let Sprinter run,I am so nervous for him.Hope all goes well.Those guys that climbed El Capitan are amazing!I’ve just been watching a cat video on Miss Kitty very funny.Dolly and Mango had trouble with their internet power was off with Dolly for 11hrs.Mango had cramp in her legs so she loved her massage.Joey has lost more friends again beautiful pic of him.I’m afraid Finn reminds me too much of a rat Marty never did somehow!He was too cute!Jack O was enjoying himself in the snow making angels.Hope you have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.The Brits have done well in the Oscar nominations!

      Glad you survived the storm! Where does Max live, Sheena? I asked him, he wrote back Where the Wild Things Are. lol Prayers for Sprinter’s safety. Yes, the El Capitan guys are truly amazing. Steve and I have visited Yosemite numerous times. Such a beautiful place. I read that Mango got a leg massage. She is so loved. Beautiful pic of Joey. That’s not fair that he’s losing numbers. Finn is cute, but as you say, definitely more rat-like. Marty had tons of personality and I think his buff coloring was a factor, too. Have a wonderful Friday Eve.     todays lead story…front page …is Oaklawn opening…
    the sports section lead is also about the opening….and a large picture of ROC
    training on the track ….he looks wonderful…

      Thanks for the information. Guess the race is over by now and I will have to get on Oaklawn’s page to find out how my guy did and watch the replay.

        • shirlee. I first came across the Beastie when he was racing against one of the Moss horses in NY in the early summer of last year. It is pretty amazing that a horse as huge as he is (and getting bigger) runs so well at a mile. He also races wire to wire sometimes. Awesome. Have to keep eye out for stablemates, Big Trouble and Overthespeedlimit. They are good too.

        • Ann NC. Like Tony Dutrow as a trainer. Heard interview with him once where he recounted working with Bobby Frankel. He said that Bobby was a genius with horses. Seems like the truth to me. Beast, listen to Tony.

        • Thank you, Max. Yes, he learned from the best. Daddy Dutrow was also a horseman. Too bad the other son chose life in the fast lane, because he was blessed with some horse skills.
          Good for Tony and soaking in that knowledge. He spoke very highly of Oaklawn.
          His horse Overspeedlimit has, Alydar back in his lines, ahhhh!
          Loved the clipping skills on Beast, very cool! Fierce look!

    Dear Kathy.Lovely here today after the storm quite sunny and calm.They are going to inspect at Haydock tomorrow the New One(Moosie’s stablemate)is having his prep-race before the festival. Everything seems well at Ascot.Have’nt had much time to visit the furbabies(late as usual)!!.I got a comment from none other than the mighty Istabraq on my FB!!!I’m glad you liked the pic of the kitten.Great video on Joey of a cat’s conversation I had many with Katie and understood every word!!Poor Mango’s mum has toothache and can’t get an appt until Wednesday!ouch!Abby is up to her old tricks with Brutus and although wittle Katy did eat much breakfast she enjoyed her supper.

    First time I’ve seen the video of Mikey and Zenny. Saw telephone interview on TVG yesterday with Mr. Zayat. He is very excited about this years crop of runners and also talked about Paynters amazing fight to overcome such serious health problems. How well I remember our daily prayers and the miraculous moment when he returned to racing and won. Saw ROC race and was pretty amazed when he closed so much ground with tremendous strides. Do you think Coz will be nominated for the triple crown races? Like Mom he might not be ready until later in the year. Of course, my dream is to see a son of Zenyatta wearing that triple crown.

      Very nice Post, Vicki.

      I think Coz will be nominated, but it doesn’t mean he has to run in all three races. That’s a little back up insurance, so to speak, in case he qualifies.

      I also remember all the prayers, candles and worry for Paynter. I would call him a miracle horse. I like Mr. Zayat as a horse owner. The horse is always first.
