Happy Monday!
We’re happy to share a few new photos of Coz in training. The folks at Mayberry Farm call him handsome, personable, and lovely to be around! He’s pictured here with his rider Ronaldo, who has been at Mayberry Farm since Zenyatta’s training. His kitty friend, Daisy, is shown perched at her regular spot above Coz’s stall.
When we recently asked for feedback and suggestions concerning the Zenyatta Shop, we received such a wonderful response. Thank you! It’s going to be a fun year with new product releases down the line.
Last but not least, at the bottom of this post you’ll find a special note from Ann Moss. She wanted to share a very sweet moment with all of you. Enjoy!
The last time I had seen Coz he was running around in his own paddock showing off for us and his buddies in the paddocks next to him. A very happy young man. This is the first time I had seen him since he started on his new life with Jeannie Mayberry, getting ready for what he was born to do… race. His racing career had begun. Jeannie had given him the same as his Mother: the last stall where he has perfect view of the whole barn and even the training track. Made me weep with joy (which I’ve been known to do smile) to see him standing there as he let me kiss his sweet nose, this big boy already grand and majestic receiving his saddle and his rider and proudly doing his lessons.
Later in the day standing in a gentle mist visiting with Zenny, I suddenly felt inclined to show her the video I had just taken earlier of her boy and knew how proud she would be of him, of how well he was doing with all his lessons and how Jeannie had said he was so smart and kind and how wonderfully he moves… She suddenly started her dance and tossing her head and turning her head to look at my iPhone! She totally knew she was watching her son Cozmic One and she was very proud. She especially liked the video of him getting his bath and she literally licked my phone! Reminding me yet again how I have to pick up my conversation with her. That she totally gets and understands All. Of course she and I have had many chats on the phone over the years and he’s always been around nosing in on our conversations, so it totally makes sense but still stunned me as well. So I wanted to share these constantly amazing Beings with YouS :) and say again Thanks! for all the Good Thoughts Well Being and Love YouS send to Them =)

Sheena-England carried the ball for a long time in WWI before the US got involved. Same thing for WWII. The English deserve the lion’s share of the credit.

Thank you Team Z for the new photos of Coz. The connection Mrs. Moss has with her horses is truly special and the connection she shares with the Queen is a once in a lifetime experience. I have had that connection once in my lifetime and I will treasure it forever.

Shari they didn’t have teachers like you when I was in school. We didn’t even know our teachers had lives outside the classroom.
When Zenny’s boys win their own blanket of flowers I hope they send a blanket to Zenny. I wonder if she misses receiving those flowers and the excitement of the track? She seems very happy and contented to me.

I’m so glad that Ann shared this special moment with Zenyatta with us. I’m sure even though very special, it is not unusual when it concerns Zenny. She is a special soul, that God put on this earth. He made sure she had special owners, trainer, and groom. He took care of her on the track, and continues to watch over her. She is special, a gift from God. She has reached out to us, and we have all responded, for she has captured all our hearts. Has there ever been a horse so loved by so many; people that never followed racing. As Ann has said many times, “She is a gift, a very special gift.” We are so much better to have her in our lives!

What To Do?
Facing a battle?
Don’t try to-
Figure your way through,
Reason your way through,
Guess your way through,
Feel your way through,
Push your way through,
Manipulate your way through,
Fake your way through.
What should you do?
Trust your way through! We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You. 2 Chronicles 20:12 AMP
Pray your way through! Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance. Ephesians 6:18 AMP
Believe your way through! This is the victory that conquers the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4 AMP
Walk your way through! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. Isaiah 43:2-3 NLT
Praise your way through! So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Joshua 6:20 NKJV

Dear Ann:

Terry Crow
Game on Dude is a very good horse but his lack of tough races during the year does not set him up for the BCC. He beats up on a rather dubious bunch of handicap horses in California and when the big boys come calling he does not fare well. His career has been carefully managed by Baffert. As to his two wins in the SA Handicap, I would challenge anybody to view the 2011 race on you tube or wherever you can see it and tell me that you thought his number should have stayed up. One of the worst decisions ever made by SA stewards and they have made a bunch of them.
Rosemary McCauley
Terry – Have to weigh in on the Dude.. I respect your opinion and in no way am I negating anything you have to say. You do know of what you speak. However, having said that, in the Dude’s defense – he can only run against those who show up to run against him. He ran second in the Classic when it wasn’t his home turf and after traveling to Churchill to face the big boys. Chantal was riding him and he was clear and right before the wire that beloved (darn him) Mikey sneaked up on the far outside before Chantal or the Dude even knew he was there. Credit that loss to the other horse having Hall of Famer Smith on board and it was Mucho Macho Man after all to boot. The last two Classics for the Dude (even with Mike aboard) saw him get off to a bad start both times (In one he hesitated slightly before breaking) and in the dictionary next to “doesn’t like to sit behind or between horses and doesn’t like dirt kicked in his face” you will see a photo the Dude. If he can’t get to the front it’s simply over no matter who he is running against and then he doesn’t even try. When Bejarano rode him for the last time (don’t remember what race it was), at the break Bejarano can clearly be seen high in the saddle and attempting to pull him back by see sawing the bit in Dude’s mouth, rather than let him do what he wants and NEEDS to do, go to the front immediately. That race was over 50 yards out of the gate and Bejarano lost that mount and Mike took over. In my opinion, if the Dude is in front cruising and he is challenged, his grit, determination and the sheer will to win will see him across the finish line first. He makes his wins look easy and sometimes horses like that don’t get the respect they deserve (I’m not saying you don’t respect him). He has been carefully campaigned by Baffert, I don’t argue with that but isn’t that a trainer’s job? Baffert didn’t duck any of the big boys and Dude is up there with a very select few “legends” who have won major stakes races (the Big
Cap for one) a history-making three times. The names of the other races he has won more than once (in company with Lava Man and others) escape me right now, but it is late in the day and I’ve been up since 4:00 A.M. I’m sure you will provide them for me. I’m sorry, I can’t help it, but I love the Dude!
Anyway, I’m off my soapbox, would you care to make a small wager (.10 cents or so) on the 5th race on Saturday?
Max
You’ve got company loving that Dude. He comes from a great family.

Coz i have lil joy to see your breeze, surface is soft, jockey lightly keep common balance of him and you, i some worry about info ” young horses training in january on the shelf in july 60% ” , breeze on soft surface not long time, if i right remember bernie breezed 6 races zenny at first 14, better breeze not near fence, when you will carefully take whip, keep it at side of near fence, to go from fence, care of your legs and back, have rest in paddock, ask work pony to see stones and brunches of trees on course before breeze at racehorse speed, carefully breeze with your kind mates, keep safe distance, don’t breeze if you are tired or sored, zenny add to track flowers your simple flowers will appear in spring in paddock grass, coz you are pretty horse from march8, 2012, 13z too, beautyfull zenny 13z coz stay warm and cozy

Been away a few days, and Wow, what did I miss! Ann Moss, I am just amazed, but I guess I shouldn’t be, that Zenny really “gets it” about your iPhone, and what’s on the other end of it. But you did talk to her on it already, for a long time. Just the idea that she started dancing, and tossing her head, looking at the iPhone, and even licking it! I am just amazed, I never imagined she, or any horse, could make that connection, to understand. I am so glad. I started tearing up. It has been bothering me, that she might never see him again — when I read in the book “Saving Baby” that mares remember their foals, even after not seeing them for 10 years.
You know, with an IPad tethered to an iPhone, on each end, I bet you could Skype between them, on the bigger screens, and they could visit, see and talk to each other. Just a fantasy idea.

Vicki B. near Hollywood Park
Thanks, Judy — yes, I knew Z is extraordinary, especially in the reaction she produced in me, when I saw her in person! And I thought she would remember, but did not actually know horses do remember after many years of no contact. And I’m blown away that she can figure out it is him on the other end of that iPhone, with sight and sound, but no smell. It is great! Love and Hugs to you, too.

Dear Carol We have a chaser called Denman in the UK,retired now, he won the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2008 and 2 Hennessys. It’s a popular name!Hugs Sheena
carol in arkansas
Thanks for the clarification …..do know horses on different continents can have same name….
Max
To be clear on this, the UK Denman is one of the best chasers of recent times. He was a stablemate and rival of Kauto Star. Known as The Tank, he is a big horse, dark chestnut in color. Winning the Gold Cup and two Hennessys is a very big deal. Since retirement he has suffered a serious illness and recently nearly died from it. Parading at Newbury is a really positive step forward for this horse as he recovers. Very glad to hear this news.

February 6 Cherokee Devotional
Little things heal our hurts.Sounds, scents, the spoken word, and music that may mean nothing to someone else can reach into our souls and do a work that ordinary methods cannot touch. Simple remedies can heat the deepest ills-a love that springs from inner wells, the sounds of birdsong and the laughter of children at play. Our work is to avoid the negative side-to think and speak only healing words, loving words. Choices are possible. Though we make many of them a day, we do it so unconsciously that we have not realized their effect-fretting about every little thing, letting the world steal our peace, and lying down when we should be up and doing. Choose to be well, to find contentment and to be a role model for those who watch. Listen for peace.
Listen! Or your tongue will make you deaf.
