Happy Monday!
We’re happy to share a few new photos of Coz in training. The folks at Mayberry Farm call him handsome, personable, and lovely to be around! He’s pictured here with his rider Ronaldo, who has been at Mayberry Farm since Zenyatta’s training. His kitty friend, Daisy, is shown perched at her regular spot above Coz’s stall.
When we recently asked for feedback and suggestions concerning the Zenyatta Shop, we received such a wonderful response. Thank you! It’s going to be a fun year with new product releases down the line.
Last but not least, at the bottom of this post you’ll find a special note from Ann Moss. She wanted to share a very sweet moment with all of you. Enjoy!
The last time I had seen Coz he was running around in his own paddock showing off for us and his buddies in the paddocks next to him. A very happy young man. This is the first time I had seen him since he started on his new life with Jeannie Mayberry, getting ready for what he was born to do… race. His racing career had begun. Jeannie had given him the same as his Mother: the last stall where he has perfect view of the whole barn and even the training track. Made me weep with joy (which I’ve been known to do smile) to see him standing there as he let me kiss his sweet nose, this big boy already grand and majestic receiving his saddle and his rider and proudly doing his lessons.
Later in the day standing in a gentle mist visiting with Zenny, I suddenly felt inclined to show her the video I had just taken earlier of her boy and knew how proud she would be of him, of how well he was doing with all his lessons and how Jeannie had said he was so smart and kind and how wonderfully he moves… She suddenly started her dance and tossing her head and turning her head to look at my iPhone! She totally knew she was watching her son Cozmic One and she was very proud. She especially liked the video of him getting his bath and she literally licked my phone! Reminding me yet again how I have to pick up my conversation with her. That she totally gets and understands All. Of course she and I have had many chats on the phone over the years and he’s always been around nosing in on our conversations, so it totally makes sense but still stunned me as well. So I wanted to share these constantly amazing Beings with YouS :) and say again Thanks! for all the Good Thoughts Well Being and Love YouS send to Them =)

Oh, my! So hard to type through my tears for such a beautiful post. How amazing is this beautiful message from Ann Moss?! I am so overwhelmed with sweet emotion and love for our beautiful Queen and her sons and all of her Zenyatta Team family. Wow. Thank you just doesn’t seem to express the feeling, but it is all I know to say to Mrs. Moss for sharing not only her sweet message and photos but to continue sharing her wonderful mare with us.
Coz looks so absolutely fantastic! What a remarkable change in this handsome young colt. Again – Wow.
Thank you!!

To stand alone does not mean there is no one else around. It means we are u na tse li dv-u na to tiv hi…we think for ourselves in an independent way, using our heads rather than our feet. We fit life to us instead of letting it press us into a mold that would not make us happy. Letting the world dictate to us is being one of the herd that runs-not because it is the right thing to do, but because we think everyone else is doing it, and so must we. Is it the right direction? Refusing to be swept along with every trend is cultivating our inner awareness of right and wrong. Awareness is there within us, but we have to hear it and heed it. This is why we were given intelligence-to stand alone so that we may have something to offer when someone else needs us.
Too many misinterpretations have been made…too many misunderstandings…

I was so hoping we would see the personality traits of Coz’s Mom in him, and it sounds like they are all there. I’am also happy to hear our Beautiful Z has not forgotten her dance and all of her qualities which has made her so unique. Thank=you Ann for the post, and i’am so happy you were able to visit this stunning baby boy, the photos are fabulous .

Ann’s experience with Zenny & the Iphone is scary & amazing. No wonder she wanted to share it with us. Thanks, Ann. Horses continue to astound us & Ann & Zenyatta have a special connection. It must be hard that they live so far apart from one another. Zenny is a very special horse.

Thanks! I thought it was a new video, taken while he was on the track. I do miss watching Z run. And dance. I wonder if either of the boys dance or if we have to wait for ‘Dancer’s Daughter’ for that ;-)

I saw hidden in a story about the nominees for the Derby that Eblouissante is ready to race. They are looking for the right race. It seemed they indicated that Ann and Jerry are her owners or maybe that was not the intention they wanted to convey. Are they her owners?

♥ Ebby was purchased at the Keeneland sales by the same owner of MR. COMMONS. She went into good hands for sure!

I hope he will always be this loved. In the end so many TB’s end up being thrown away.

What a handsome young man he is growing into and I loved the story. Awesome! I love reading about how well he is doing and waiting for Zenyatta to foal again!

There is no better feeling than seeing the colt / filly you bred your mare to produce grow up, go to race training and do well, then, to make it to the race track and win races. It is a feeling of accomplishment and pride in the mare, offspring and breeding program.
I am so happy for team Z that Coz is doing so well in training. He looks happy and appears to be enjoying himself. I wish team Z all the good luck possible with Coz and his future race career,

Thank you so much for sharing all of the photos and the story about Queen Z watching her Prince. I am so grateful for this blog/forum and to everyone at Lane’s End and the Moss’s for sharing their wonderful, beautiful, and enchanting horses with all of us.

I’m so glad to be updated on coz ! He’s just as beautiful as his mom! Someday I’ll get to meet Zenyatta, as from the first time I saw her she took my breath away! Are you planning on running coz in the derby?
Donna
Hello,
Max,
i was thinking of Frankel and then I decided to do a True Nicks with Bullet Train and Zenyatta, it came up A+.
I wanted to ask your opinion, I think it would be awesome, I know she will never go to Frankel, but what a pedigree and she has so much turf in hers too, I see her having top turf babies.
A future English Derby winner, even Triple Crown.
Sorry I am getting carried away.

If we could look ahead, we would be comforted to know that what we have worked for and what we have given our hearts to will reward us. We cannot give and give and not receive, especially if we have given willingly and cheerfully. Our lives are many-faceted. We have shared in many ways and many times when it seemed unimportant. We gave without thought that it would do anything but help-and these are the gifts that will not go unrewarded. Giving is so often thought of in terms of the things we give, but our greatest giving is of our time, and kindness, and even comfort for those who need it. We look on these gifts as unimportant-until we need them. Then, the most wonderful gift is simple courage.
I felt that I was leaving all that I had, but I did not cry.

What a great story about Zenyatta’s intelligence…and what a beautiful boy she produced!
May mom and son live long and distinguished lives.
Thanks to Ann Moss for sharing a wonderful experience.

i believe coz has a wonderful disposition not only because he has inherited from his mother but its the way he was adored by you ann since his birth. it seems from the photos and the words you have written and even the body language you show when around him that he is special. probably will always be your favorite no matter how many horses or foals you have. i dont know if you have children but i can tell coz is your animal son. if he does not turn out to have the talent his mother has or if he is unable to pass on his wonderful genes to the next genteration i hope you keep him as a pet. it would break my heart if that did not happen. your are his favorite its plane to see. bless your heart for loving him so much.

Any of you all have any thoughts about somewhere later Little Red could be a boyfriend for Rachel’s little girl? Don’t know how the pedigrees would match up but both are fine looking horses. And what a story to follow if they had a foal!

Oops! Forgot to add that Claiborne has a really cute photo on Twitter and their Facebook page of Arch chasing some geese out of his snowy paddock.
