Happy Friday!
Alys recently spent some time with both Zenyatta and her colt. She sent us these photos of Zenyatta getting some attention in her stall and the yearlings enjoying winter weather out in the paddock.
We are also proud that Bloodhorse has named the birth of Zenyatta’s colt the most popular story of 2012. You can see the whole “2012 in Review” newsletter by clicking this link.

Am so worried about MMM. Just love that big guy. Hope all is well with him.
As far as the negative posts, Remember we need to be civil no matter how much we disagree with someone. Zenyatta would be ashamed of us for behaving in this manner.

Me too
Am looking for anything new on him.
Nothing so far.
Really love that boy, he is gorgeous and so talented.

Dear Heidi,
All reposts on previous page were for Keta.
Including the one on how not to take personally.

Sign. People are telling you to leave Trina and Keta alone and move on. We’re all here for the horses.

Signofthetimes or is signofthetimes ? I am asking just like others, please, keep your negative inputs to yourself. That is NOT what this site is about! This site is about the Horses, friendships, family, understanding, empathy etc but, not Negative comments. So please, once again, keep it to yourself.
Thanks..

Thank you both and those you speak for Keta and Trina for the kind,
considerate, special and well thoughtout insults you have written.
They are both inaccurate and incorrect. I am sure you are all so very happy

Sign or whatever your real name is–cease and desist. This is still Zenny’s garden, and your negative weeds are choking it out. Allow these good people to enjoy being here without you interrupting and pontificating and commenting on every thought they make. I have never been negative on this site when i used to visit here, but after reviewing your comments and postings on so many blog pages here, I realize you are a stranger to restraint. For the sake of precious Zenyatta and the love all of her guests here have for her and for each other, quiet down.

Andrew Bensley has just been chattering on Skysportsradio with some news:
. Hay List and Black Caviar are both entered for the Newmarket Stakes in Melbourne on 9 March.
. Belle Couture (Nelly’s sister) is undergoing growth spurts, and will go to the paddock for about a month – missing the Blue Diamond
. Mosheen was due to travel to Shedai Stallion Station in Japan to be served by Deep Impact, but has been held back due to connections being unhappy with a blood test. She’s due to leave in the next few weeks – temps in Japan -15, so a special suit is being made for her to cope with the conditions. King’s Rose will also go with her.
Signofthetimes
Dear Kathy R,
Haylist and Black Caviar are not in the same race?
Kathy R.
Dear Sign: As it stands, both are entered in the Newmarket – of course, it’s just an entry at this stage, and John McNair (trainer of Hay List) is keeping his options open, depending on the fitness of the horse. As is Peter Moody. Moody of course, is giving Nelly an exhibition gallop between races in early February. Interesting times!

Dear Kathy R,
Very Interesting times!!!

Just saw on DRF.com that MMM seems okay. Kudos to “Our Mikie” for not applying the whip when it was clear it was not his day. He put the health and well being of the horse first.
signofthetimes; President of the Texas RN Club; RN philosopher
Whew !!!!
per Bloodhorse, Mike Smith said, ” he put his head up and quit”.
Janet Newman
He broke well and when he was taken out wide in the first turn, I think it took him out of the race. I appreciate that Mike took good care of him.

Dear Shirlee and Z Fans:
Yes, Mikey is a great rider and puts the horses welfare first. Hope MMM is OK. Love that boy. Hugs, JB

DAILY RACING FORUM: RON THE GREEK WINS SUNSHINE MILLIONS
(exerpt on MMM below; HRTV commentators thought he might be scooped,
no work yet)
“Mucho Macho Man was carried wide into the opening bend by I’m Steppin Out, prompted a fast pace while remaining well out in the track, and had nothing left midway around the second turn. He was taken in hand by Smith who safely eased him to the wire.
“He was going along fine and then he kept putting his head higher and higher,” Smith said after the race.
Smith said he eased Mucho Macho Man because he stopped trying and he sensed something was wrong. After the race, Smith told trainer Kathy Ritvo “I guarantee it’s something inside.”
Mucho Macho Man appeared to be fine walking off from the track.”

Please let me know if it opens or does not open.

@Especially Horses/So CAL
That was a very interesting article on “Unlocking Winners” differences in recognizing herd dynamics between Z & her little sis Ebby. Could it also be that Ebby has to grow up yet, could she get better at reading herd dynamics? Was Secretariat smart in herd dynamics or was he like Ebby taking on one horse at a time, but very fast at it? Will Z’s “Prince” or her new little one inherit her acute sense of herd dynamics? Too sharp, really.
signofthetimes; President of the Texas RN Club; RN philosopher
Dear Sunny B,
The article was posted in its entirety the page before the link
if you missed it. Glad you enjoyed it. John will tailor his training
to overcome some of her weaknesses.
Kathy R.
Dear Sign: Agree with others – a really interesting article. Will go back and read a little more carefully – just rushed through it this morning). Thanks!
signofthetimes; President of the Texas RN Club; RN philosopher
Dear Kathy R,
Sometimes too busy also, a good skim first then when time
a final read. The topic of the article was something I had been
wondering all along about and just did not understand how
running is a race had a herd dynamic to it. Makes sense as horse
relate to others as a part of their “herd”.

I will be working. Will be thinking of
you relaxing and watching the races.

Impressed by winner of Handicap Award for claiming the very horse he won big with and ensuring her retirement. Also glad that Dale Romans won although I was disappointed that Shackleford didn’t get a win. Congrats to Wise Dan and all others.
signofthetimes; President of the Texas RN Club; RN philosopher
Dear AJ,
That was a very special touch to the evening and it would be nice if more people
would do that.
Janet Newman
I agree, that was a great thing to do for the horse. Very happy for Dale Romans to win. He had an excellent year. Here is hoping he continues doing great things with his trainees, who knows maybe he will have a son or daughter of Shack one of these days.
Congrats to Ramon and continued thoughts and prayers go out to him on his recovery.
signofthetimes; President of the Texas RN Club; RN philosopher
Dear Janet Newman,
Think that Ramon’s skull fracture is small and displaced. As long as he
is awake and alert for 24-72 hours he should be fine. And so far he is responsive. A very scary thing though !!! Very touching to have JV and JC accept the award for him, competitors on the track and very close off. A very special thing.
Skip Ean
SO NOW YOU ARE A PHYSICIAN AS WELL??? Will you be adding MD to your titles now? This jockey has a very serious injury and happens to be in a very bad hospital. He cannot be moved to a better one, which illustrates how serious his injury is. Your theory is bosh unless you are a physician.. Ramon needs lots of sincere prayers and he needs to be in a Manhattan hospital, not the substandard hospital he is currently in.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
A J, I wanted Shackleford to win something too. Very Happy for Dale.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear AJ and Z Fans:
I was torn in that category too. Love Shack and Trinniberg. Congrats to all Eclipse winners and to HOY Wise Dan. Hugs, JB
