Happy Wednesday! Here’s a brand new set of photos from Alys. Zenyatta’s War Front filly is pictured in many of these photos with her paddock mate, a colt out of Life is Sweet.
Dear Judy.Lovely pics from the farm.So happy Hudson settled when she got to the show. Here is a video of the hatching ,you’ll have to scroll down. All the family have had a lovely day.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Little Cap Hercules and all the Sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX http://www.facebook.com/dyfiospreyproject
Oh, thank you for this. So little and cute. The first chick is really moving around well now. Was that Glesni on the nest this time when the second chick hatched? Glad you liked the photos. Love and Hugs, JB, LM, PC, HT, Cap, Herc and all the Sweeties
Thank You for posting this. I feel so sorry for the dog too. I have a friend whose husband formerly trained dogs for service duty in the air force. Dog and human get so attached to each other. This dog will need some very tender loving care.
Peggy and JudyB. The RCMP have announced that Danny will be given to another member. After he has adjusted to his new partner, he will be assessed at the RCMP training school for new duties. The dog loves his job. Widow of the slain officer said that Danny only barked when he wanted to leave in the am to go to work. It was therefore decided by the RCMP that it was better for him to work. The funeral for all three officers who were murdered was also attended by the RCMP horses. Real beauties and some are descended from Man o’ War. Very sad day however. This kind of thing is happening too often.
Terry Crow
Thank you, Max. Too often the media does not follow-up on this type of story.

TC. The RCMP animal members are very well taken care of and superbly trained. The Queen’s favorite horse, Burmese, was a gift from the RCMP. They also gave a horse to President Reagan. These horses are exceptionally fine equines. Sometimes they sell their horses if they do not fit the requirement to be black. Only black horses are kept, but they are bred with care to be black so that few are in fact sold. Saw a clip of the funeral with Danny crying for his partner. Very hard to keep it together when you see that.

You are correct; Intense Holiday did race in the Derby and finished 12th. JV was aboard. He had successful surgery on May 27th for a condylar fracture that happened on May 25th in a workout. While recovering, he developed Laminitis in both of his front hooves. Such a devastating disease and so sad. RIP beautiful boy. Love and Hugs, JB

Judy–I have nothing to add to your post. Thank you.
A horse I like very much “African Story” that I haven’t seen much of lately. If anyone sees any information on him please post. Winner of the Dubai World Cup. And owned by Godolphin. He is a Gelding. I sure wish he could come here to race sometimes.
Has anyone seen anything serious about the Breeders Cup coming to Keeenland next year. Keep hearing it floated around.
Is it big enough?
Very interesting. In my opinion, Keeneland is way too small to host a BC. Good luck if you plan to attend one there. When they get crowds of 30,000 plus, you can’t move. Also, seating is limited. When track management says it can bring in “temporary” seating, You can bet it will be second rate.
According to this article from Horse Race Nation (7th paragraph down), African Story is nominated for the 2014 Arlington Million to be run on August 16, 2014. Love and Hugs, JB
Oh my Gosh, Thank you so much for these posts. I will now be counting the days and hoping African Story comes over here. August is not too far off either.

Have just heard today that Guy Walter’s widow, Wendy, has decided not to continue as a trainer. Wendy sent a letter to owners, saying in part , and I quote:
I have carefully considered potential future plans in the last couple of weeks, with many of my private conversations with Guy repeating in my head. ……I am very grateful and honoured to have had your support through this challenging time over the past few weeks but feel that Guy was an irreplaceable part of the business.
Really feel for Wendy, but understand why she’s take this decision – the stable was Guy, and now he’s not with us. But the Warwick Farm stable will go to Joe Pride, who is a beaut bloke, and the Goulburn one will come under the care of Guy’s long-time foreman John Bateman, who will take out a trainer’s licence. And I wish them nothing but success.

I can understand his feelings of this is just getting to be too much. I gave up on racing for some time after Barbaro but along came Rachel, Zenyatta and Muchie and I was hooked again.
Mr. Haskin writes from the heart because he loves horses as much as all of us. Intense Holiday had to fight from the beginning of his life and he fought to come through this last battle too, but without success. I do hope that equine medicine will fight as hard as Intense Holiday did to find a cure for this dreaded Laminitis. Love and Hugs, JB

To Judy BeRube & all Zenyatta friends: I’m from Moncton, New Brunswick, & want to take a few minutes to thank all those who had our city in their thoughts. It has been an incredibly difficult week, the fear & grief hard to bear. The funeral of those RCMP officers was heart-rending. I can’t get the picture of those 3 red & white flag-draped coffins out of my mind. I was OK until I heard Danny, the police dog, start to whine. Our city, province & the whole country let out wails that could be heard around the world. It was a truly awesome sight to see 6500 RCMP & other Police Depts. from across Canada, USA & some other countries(France & Australia that I know about) march as one was one of the most memorable sights I’ve ever seen. Moncton is still in mourning. Thanks, again. Nicki
Dear Nicki Boyd-Clouston,
Blessings to all and sincere condolences to all those in Moncton and throughout the land who are hurting. So very tragic. Special prayers for K-9 officer Danny, too.

Another Masterpiece. How wonderful to have all this info on Ascot in one place. Love the commentary, the photos and the videos. Great information on all the great horses. Wow, is a good description of Treve; I can see why our Sheena is so smitten. Interesting too to read about the personalities and quirkiness of some of the Champions. Love Choisir’s goggles. Love the smile on the Queens face when Estimate won. Nice to see all the American sires that are represented too. Thank you for another brilliant piece in the Vault. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Max.Not sure where to post !!That was a great photo of Frankel and AP 2 kings of the turf.Does’nt Frankel look magnificent.Oh,I’d be in 7th Heaven if he raced again! No luck there I’m afraid.

Sheena. As always Frankel looks quite wonderful. He has highly superior looking ears.
I was sorry to hear that Joyeuse was second at Leopardtown on Thursday. Still it’s not such a bad result. She can recover next time.
Surprised that Hovis did not mention Shergar. Sunday is dad’s day.
Looking forward to RA. Should be exciting. Hoping Estimate wins.
Heard about the beak decision. It indeed shows how hard that they were on the fan favorite. The Moose must be free.
Shorty off until autumn. Bet that Moose hasn’t invited him to stay. He’d prefer Miss Milkshakes as a visitor.
Free the Moose! Power up Danny. Power up CDA, Chromie and all others who are sick.
Beast, my eye is on you.
Thanks to the many wonderful people who gave their condolences to the people of Moncton and to our land. I am a Canadian living in Vancouver and like you am so saddened at the tragedy in Moncton.Your words meant so much to me tonight.
Danny sitting and whining for his partner at the funeral of the R.C.M.P. officers brought many a tear to our eyes and is a reminder of the heartfelt bond with animals and those who love and care for them.To Nicki in Moncton,we are thinking of you all. The outpouring of love and gratitude for those in service and for eachother in your city has been huge. We have seen such love and courage to come back when tragedy strikes in the U.S. in many places and are always touched by the ability of people to come together to grieve and to recover in time. Our hearts have been with you as well.
Following Zenyatta and her offspring has been a nice way to focus on something good in the world. Many thanks for all the info and photos/videos that you post for us to enjoy

Thank you for sharing this wonderful photo of Frankel and TM. Wow, really something that Frankel’s first foal was born on Sir Henry’s birthday. Goosebumps. Power Up Danny and all the horses recovering from injuries or illness. Loose The Moose! Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Max.Not sure where to post !!That was a great photo of Frankel and AP 2 kings of the turf.Does’nt Frankel look magnificent.Oh,I’d be in 7th Heaven if he raced again! No luck there I’m afraid.
I was late reading Hovis today oh,happy, happy days with mum away!!She certainly made sure he was clean before she left Hovis sausage and all!I’m really looking forward to his new book.I received my book about the war dog Judy on Wednesday I think we all know how the Japanese treated their prisoners but somehow she survived!
Royal Ascot next week St James Palace looks good with Kingman and Night of Thunder and Treve in the Prince of Wales.Did you hear the Grand National jockeys got off with a caution!Moosie does nothing and gets a 9 month ban!!!Disgrace!!
Richard Hannon jnr had a 6-timer at Goodwood today.Frankie Dettori has been signed up by Channel 4 to try and boost it’s ratings lowest viewing figures for the Derby this century.Free the Moose.PU Dan and all sick horses.Sheena.
Max
