Happy Friday!
We’re kicking off the weekend with new photos from Alys! As you can see, Zenyatta and her colt have been out enjoying the lush spring grass at Lane’s End. We’re sure they’re also anticipating our visit (and lots of peppermints)!
Our trip to Lane’s End begins early next week. If you’re eager to keep up with us while we’re at the farm, follow us on Instagram (TeamZenyatta) and Twitter for live updates.
Enjoy!

Zenyatta…heaven’s most perfect mare. Her offspring, sculpted by the same great hand.
13Z is certainly an example of the WOW factor. These pictures are fantastic. It’s always good to start the day looking at the Queen.
Cathy
I love all the photos, but my favorite is the one of 13Z walking away from mom.. He has a lovely step and those ears! Mom is watching him…
Divas Mom
What a sweetheart 13Z is. Very good looking colt! Z looks great as well and both look very content. Glad to have more pictures-“Anytime”. Thank You for giving us these awesome pictures. :)

Can he still turn grey, or is he definitely a chestnut now? Thanks
carol in arkansas
his color is a hot topic on forum side….lots of picks on both sides…red or gray…I am staying with the first official announcement right after his birth….LE and the Mosses reported him as chestnut…they have seen and touched him…I will go with there expertise…in any case…after he sheds his baby coat we will all be able to see better

Wow! Thank you so much for bringing such bright and beautiful moments to us as we come here to enjoy these photos of Z13!! He is so absolutely adorable and it lifts my heart to see him and Zenyatta out in their paddock enjoying the nice weather, the spring time warmth. You are so generous and kind to share so much with us and Alys and Kyle are so great to take such wonderful photos. Sorry I’m gushing, but this is a great start to my day and weekend, and I’ve been so stressed over the sadness in our country.
Emma
Isn’t that just so sweet. That little colt is beyond cute.
maureen phi-llips
Ditto that Emma, have a Blessed day.

I love those knobby little knees they are so cute……just like the rest of this handsome colt!!!

What a wonderful surprise and a wonderful way to start a Saturday. These photos are absolutely stunning and sweet and I love them. Thanks so much for sharing; it is really kind of you. Absolutely beautiful – both of them. I love his little tail; it’s going to be nice and full, don’t you think? All 3 of them are going to be so glad to see you when you arrive with the peppermints and “lots of love” for them. You are incredibly blessed and so are they.

It’s been a long week and a longer week ahead (13 straight days of working before a day off)…working for a nonprofit at peak times are thrilling and exhausting all at the same time…I know, it doesn’t make a lot of sense.
However, I took a moment from my work tasks to catch up with Zenyatta and her new foal. The photos of her and 13Zenyatta are absolutely beautiful. I have to say that it made my day much brighter.
Thank you so much for sharing and caring about the fans who love her and her offspring so very much.
Have a lovely week!

Oh my! 13Z is quite a guy! What great pics–and especially love the black and white photos. Queen Zenyatta looks incredibly beautiful and fit. So good to see her and baby together and so healthy and happy! This chestnut colt is a real zinger!
Thank you for sharing the news! And please give us more of 12Z, too! We can’t forget that little Champ.
Love to all,
Stel

So happy to see Z and baby enjoying the yummy looking grass. He really does resemble his mom’s kind demeanor – such a sweetheart. Thanks Alys!
Jan D./ Texas
13Z looks just like a life size plushie that you want to hug and squeeze. So adorable. Zenyatta looks like she just adores the little fellow and I know Ann and Jerry Moss can’t be any prouder of both 13Z and Cozmic One.
Jan S. / Houston
I was thinking of the same thing Jan. He does look like a plushie. Too cute!
Terry Crow
I wish to thank all of my Z friends who made positive comments about my “return.” I may not be posting every day, but I will never be as far away as I was. @Judy B-Hope you had the best birthday EVER. You might be a redneck if you go to Wal-Mart to watch TV.
maureen phi-llips
Welcome back dear Terry Crow. Its always nice to have our Z nation family intact. You are Blessed, have a wonderful weekend. It is well.

A return back to the Z family is always a happy occasion! It deserves a lot of positive publicity! We’re glad you have decided to come back!
Sue/FlCPRC COZ I CAN 2015 ;-)
The new photos are fabulous.
TC is back all is right again in Zenny land.
I think we need a talking horse joke please TC GP :-)

Terry, you know I’m glad to see you back here, I hope you can “stay”, relatively-speaking.
Vicki B. near Hollywood Park
And Judy B., I missed wishing you well on your B-day, also, I hope it was a good one.

TC. Glad to see your return. I mentioned you last week when we were discussing Whirlaway, one of your favorites. Hope still springs eternal for those talking horse jokes, even an encore or two would be nice. Take care.
Marshall (NC broad)
Zenyatta and 13Z are well, happy and thriving; 12Z is growing up nicely; Terry C. is posting again; all is right in Zennyland once more. We can all breathe sighs of relief and be grateful.
I do love this place — you are all just the best!! Hugs
Susie
I truly hope that both Cozmic One, 13Z, and all of Zenyatta’s future colts and fillies will be fortunate enough to be trained by the enlightened John Shirreffs. His patience,
knowledge, and ideal disposition are evident in the happiness of his horses. Let us not
forget that Zenyatta retired sound after a lengthy and extremely successful career. That
is largely due to John Shirreffs.

JS is the best. Hugs, JB
Jan S. / Houston
Ditto Susie!!
Caitlin
Beautiful photos! Is it just me, or did this little man inherit mom’s powerful caboose?
maureen phi-llips
I totally agree Caitlin, not just the caboose, but the knees and rippling muscles, he will be a powerful runner. Have a wonderfully Blessed day. It is well.
Caitlin
To my untrained eye he just looks exceptionally well muscled for a two week old colt…..it sure will be fun watching him grow..
Bobbie --- Elkhorn WI
I have always loved Z’s caboose–especially in a shot from behind, ha! Looks like this little guy will be giving everyone the “rear view” too!!
Jan S. / Houston
Looks like it! But not her ears..
maureen phi-llips
Good morning to the Queen of Z nation and to the two Royal Princes. Wishing you all a wonderful day in the pastures.
A great morning to my Z nation family, wishing you all a blissfully Blessed day, free of trials and tribulations. It is well.
Any news about Jericho, Skip and Katherine? How is Chris? any news about his surgery?
Praying for Boston and Waco, for continued Healing, It is well. LOL to all.

Terry Crow, I sure am glad to see you back! Lately I spend most of my time on the forum and don’t come to the blog enough. It is so good to see you! Everyone has missed you so much. I hope you are well and life is treating you much better! You are always missed.
DebraZ
Whenever I come to read posts here, it always brightens my day! Zenyatta and her foals make my heart smile. Cozmic One has a name, 13Z has a whole new world to explore.
I do have to say that I’d be disappointed if Zenyatta’s first filly didn’t get named “Mondatta” though.
Thanks to Team Z and hello to all.
carol in arkansas
I think that name is already being used….
DebraZ
Really? Too bad. Oh, well, this future “she” will be wonderfully named I’m sure.
lizzie
Wow what a looker! Love love the last photo of their hindquarters touching. Impressed how 13 already looks like he has defined muscle tone…wow! One leggy fella! And his color….. :0
Pati- Derby Dreamin'
I have a Cindy update. Here is one of the pictures that we took last week during my lesson. Cindy to date has gained almost 60 pounds, and she has calmed down a lot since she got here. She’s also very intelligent, as she catches on to training very quickly and was even collecting within 20 minutes of me getting on her. We only did some trotting in collection as I don’t want to wear her out too much. She still needs energy to gain more weight but she is losing her extra hair and she is transforming into a shiny, healthy mare. I think she’ll stick around as a little kid mare, but that’s only because I’m biased. ;-)
@QueenOfSuites: Me and Cindy working. She catches on über quick. http://t.co/O90pSQODHg

She is beautiful!! Such a change in a short time.
And, I might say the rider looks pretty good too.

Thanks, Pati, for the picture and the update on Cindy. She looks very good. So glad that she is doing well, too. Smart AND pretty — what a great combination!
Cheers and hugs

Keta:
Thank you for the beautiful story about Palace Malice, it was both sad and happy at the same time. (mixed emotions especially reading about the other horses and their injuries.) You always find the most amazing pic’s and stories and are gracious enough to share with us, for that I “Thank You’ from the bottom of my heart, it’s nice to read or see some happiness among all the sadness that continues to haunt us.
I only wish you lived on the East Coast so you could join our BIG adventure to Saratoga in search of John and Ebby! (Hopefully without getting booted out or having a restraining order slapped against the bunch of us!)
Thanks for always sharing all your valuable info with us

What a feel-good moment reading your comments! Thank you!
It was a happy/sad story filled with tragedy and friends and a good outcome.
Have been toying with idea of a visit to New York City
Many good old reasons and now many good new reasons to do it.
Right now too many health issues to travel. But, dreaming never the less.
Hugs,

Welcome back! I hope your pesky health issues are far behind you now or at the very least a distant memory? Perfect timing coming back to upstage little BIG red! ( I’m kidding of course). We missed your jokes, your wit, and your horse expertise, I only hope you won’t be MIA anymore, it’s hard to come here and not see familiar posts from people you have grown to love and respect.
May you have continued Good Health!
