Dear Judy.I am so glad you got to see Charlie and Hudson and that they are both well.Metro is expected to make a full recovery woo-hoo!!Bei-Bei will no doubt be preparing for his debut. They have been showing videos on the Dyfi from the archives and we saw Monty’s 1st chicks hatching in June 2011.They have always hoped Einion is alive somehow but Dulas and Leri definitely perished. It was strange to see Nora again.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank Bentley and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
Looking forward to seeing Bei Bei and the return of the Ospreys. So happy to hear that Metro is doing so well.
Well, it’s absolute proven now. Charlie was caught “red handed”. We now know for sure why he was kicked in the face and had a baseball size lump for weeks under his left eye. Angela took this photo today. She said he grabs on and won’t let go. I know I should not laugh because it isn’t funny and I’m so afraid he’s going to get kicked again, but he just cracks me up. I told Angela maybe we should get him a muzzle. Love and Hugs, JB
Oh no! Charlie, you bad boy!
Yes, you have been caught in the act — so you grab on and won’t let go, huh?
Watch out for kicks and/or bites, and maybe you should pick another hobby, just saying. :-) Do be careful when making mischief, though.
Thanks for this photo, Judy B.

Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Marshall and Z Fans:
Charlie is such a character. The other horses are content to just be outside with the herd. He gets bored and starts tugging on their manes and tails and Angela said she actually has seen him pull the hair right out.
He used to tug and tear his own blanket and all the other horses blankets, so Angela doesn’t put blankets on them anymore. Now, he’s been doing this to keep himself occupied. I will talk to him about finding another hobby as you suggest, or maybe I’ll just threaten him with a muzzle.
All joking aside though, I am worried that he is going to aggravate somebody and get kicked again. He’s just too smart and curious for his own good. Angela had to place a latch lock on his stall door because he figured out how to raise the bar and pull the door open. She found him outside of the paddock fence grazing one day and that’s when she discovered he had escaped his stall. Darn me, I’m laughing again. Can’t help it; he’s too funny. Love and Hugs, JB
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
I remember your saying that maybe Charlie could be a fashion designer or hair dresser. I think you’re right; now he’s restyling the other horses manes and tails. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Judy B.,
What a very clever boy! Maybe Charlie just needs a job to give him a diversion. He was channeling Mr. Ed, perhaps, when he let himself out of his stall.
Like you, I hope he doesn’t get hurt again, though. He is a real character!
That is a fantastic photo. Beautiful horses. Charlie seems himself as the leader. He’s great.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Gotta love him. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
Judy. Who are other horses in that photo?
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
I know the Chestnut closest to the camera is Simon. Not sure who the unfortunate Paint (victim) is. The Buckskin in the back wearing blinkers is Storm. He has a sensitivity to light. Can’t tell who the horse on the far right is. Will have to ask Angela. Love and Hugs, JB
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Barbara Livingston was at McMahon Farm the night Charlie was born and followed him as a yearling. She said he was precocious and quite a character right from the beginning. He was always first in the chow line too. Love and Hugs, JB
Very nice photo of him on Stonestreet Facebook. He looks to be a compact fella. Was wondering if he will always race in the Maginer et al colors as he has his past two races or if he will wear the Stonestreet silks at times?
Thank you so very much for this. Bernie is my favorite boy (right after Charlie). What an absolutely magnificent boy he is. COZ, reminds me of him more and more, as he grows and fills out. So beautiful. Love and Hugs, JB

2 horses news anchor bred and co-owned win 3 Illinois-bred titles
February 17, 2012|By Neil Milbert, Special to the Tribune (Chicago Tribune)
Ron Magers didn’t have any visions of grandeur in the summer of 1991 when he ventured out on his own for the first time as a thoroughbred owner and claimed a 3-year-old filly named Lehmi Go for $16,000 at Arlington Park.
“My highest hope at the time was that I might get the $16,000 back,” the WLS-Ch. 7 news anchor reminisced. “I didn’t think beyond that.” http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012-02-17/sports/ct-spt-0218-illinois-horse–20120218_1_temporada-stakes-races-filly

Quiet souls come in shy people. They learn to guide themselves through hardships and through loneliness; they learn to befriend invisible friends-and from these friendships they learn to be drawn into the light. Indian children cannot bear to be observed, to be called to perform. But when the light falls on them by their choice, they stand in it however uncomfortable they may be.
Whenever any man proves himself by his good life and his knowledge of good things, naturally fitted as a teacher of good things, he shall be recognized by the Lords as a teacher of peace and religion and the people shall hear him.

Dear Kathy.I have always been pretty shy especially as a child and being the only one had many invisible friends!Woo-hoo Fubu is back and his eyesight is returning!!!Kimberly, as I guessed, has been ill with flu and her RA.She noticed on Christmas day he was plating with the ribbons on his prezzies and was able to follow her finger. The doc is amazed.Truly a Christmas miracle.Poor Wimbley has a back problem(all that trabelling) and is on pain meds and it certainly doesn’t sound good about Oliver. He is returning to the Ruby Ranch.I pray they can help him.Lovely pic of Joey and Theba.Racing at Warwick today and Mullins has had a winner!Great to see Flintham winning with a big weight for the Bradstocks same mum as Coneygree.Gosh Plaid maid was such a bargain buy for the Oakseys.Have heard on UK FB’s that AP is going to cover far too many mares.I know he is young and fit but…I always thank God It was Juddmonte that had the 1st choice when Frankel was born.I dread to think what would have happened to him if he had ended up at Coolmore!Have a great weekend.Love and hugs to you, kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Oh my goodness, I never would have believed that Fubu’s sight would return! A Christmas miracle, indeed! Poor Wimbley, I hope he feels better soon. I don’t feel good at all about Oliver. That poor little dog. And he was so good about taking his meds. If nothing can be done for him I hope they will put an end to his suffering. I loved the pic of Joey and Theba. Enjoy all the wonderful racing today. That is distressing to hear about AP. Pure greed! Today would have been my mother’s birthday. Will take flowers out to the cemetery after Pilates. Have a great Saturday. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
Oh,bless Thomas Hobson got so tired at the last his legs turned to jelly but a Mullins horse was behind although Thomas won.He set such a gallop in sticky ground and Susannah’s colours again. The Mullins bandwagon rolls on.Can anyone stop him??Only 8 weeks to the festival!!!!!Sheena
Mullins sent 3 horses to Warwick and they came home with two wins and a second. Some say that it’s because Mullins has the top horses in his yard. Not so. Min for example never won until he was trained by Mullins. Nichols Canyon has also improved with Mullins. He’s a fantastic trainer. He does all of the training himself without any assistants. He stands out in the field with his dog and watches each horse walk by. He has to be careful where he stands because some of the horses like to take a bite at him when they pass by. It’s just really great.
Dear Max,
Love the thought of Riley as a trainer! Thanks for the wonderful visual picture, will go to look for more pics of Mullins and Riley.
Years ago, when we had our place out on the desert, it was raining cats and ‘dogs’ one day. Someone had ‘dropped off’ a little puppy – he was drenched and shivering when we discovered him. He was the cutest, but most pathetic looking critter. Of course, there was no choice about ‘keeping’ him. On his 1st 4th of July with us, we were setting fireworks off in front of our house. He came and joined us, but he had to put one of his front paws on my husbands foot. He loved watching the show! After that, he would always put a paw on either my foot or my husband’s whenever we were standing still outside. Whether we were walking then stopped, or outside watching a sunrise or sunset – he was holding ‘paws’ with us. We love him so much, and he was the sweetest doggie. We still miss him.
Hope you have a great day, Max.
with love, Elizabeth
Max
Here is a link to a photo of Mullins and his dog, Riley. In photo 6, there are two dogs. The golden retriever in the upper right is Riley. He’s lying down. Mullins says that the dog really does have the life of Riley. The red dog on the other hand is always standing and wagging his tail as the horses pass by.. Occasionally he barks at one of the horses, perhaps as a form of encouragement.
Like your story.
Dear Max.Russe Blanc has just won for Kerry Lee.the only horse to be officially described as white! These horses today weren’t Mullins first string but next week Un de Sceaux is coming over for the Clarence House.Yes,I remember Min wasn’t that special out in France but since he’s been with Willie…Paul is sunning himself in Barbados he always goes in January.Ah Jerry’s got her head screwed on the right way.My mother always said it was better to be an old man’s darling I should have listened!!!Sheena
Not very white today because of the mud. Kerry is doing doing well with her training. Mountainous ran a very good race last week to take the Welsh Grand National.
As for the Mullins crowd, Black Hercules is coming along with Patrick Mullins aboard. Thomas Hobson never gives up.
Dear Max.Danny was aboard Willie’s horses at Warwick today.Shorty was riding in Ireland and won on Sempre Medici.Mullins has 11 favourites at the festival.Did you hear about the robbery at Goodwood House.Lord and Lady March were assaulted and tied up.A 26yr old has been arrested and they are devastated at the loss of family heirlooms worth £700,000.Sheena
Max
You’re right. Danny and Patrick look so much alike that it’s sometimes hard to tell them apart. Everyone seems to ride for Mullins. Didn’t hear about that robbery. Glad that they found a suspect. Is Goodwood open to the public? I visited so many country houses in England and Scotland, that it’s a blur.
Sprinter is avoiding a clash with Un De Sceaux next week in the Clarence House and will head straight to the festival but Sire will fly the flag for the British.Still a great race though and Un could easily trip up…Sheena
Breaking News: Zayat Family Escapes Fire in Hotel Suite
January 16th, 2016 post by redbird | San Diego Horse Race
Bloodhorse.com is reporting Saturday morning that the Zayat family is safe following a fire in their hotel suite overnight.
According to the report, the fire broke out in the living room on the 30th floor of the Diplomat Resort and Spa in Hollywood, Florida where Ahmed Zayat and his wife, Joanne are staying for tonight’s Eclipse Awards. Zayat said it was a “major” fire that “destroyed” the living room.
There was also damage to the bedroom and some of the Zayats’ property, like clothing, from when the sprinkler system deployed. Zayat said no one was hurt but that it was “very scary.”
The cause of the fire has not been determined. http://sdhorserace.com/
Isn’t Dolphus a half brother to Rachel Alexandra? I don’t think that he’s related to Zenyatta. Last that we heard, Z’s full brother was apparently headed to Ireland to be trained at Ballydoyle.
No problem. I wish that we would hear something of Z’s brother. Ballydoyle unlike Mullins doesn’t release much information.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
I keep checking to see if he’s been named yet. So far I’ve found nothing. He does have an Equibase Chart that just notes his place of birth( KY), DOB and his Sire and Dam.
I wonder, since he is in Ireland now, if they will even update his chart (when he is named, if he hasn’t been already). What do you think?
Very tough to find any info on him, unfortunately. Love and Hugs, JB

Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Sheena and Z Fans:
Looking forward to seeing Bei Bei and the return of the Ospreys. So happy to hear that Metro is doing so well.
Well, it’s absolute proven now. Charlie was caught “red handed”. We now know for sure why he was kicked in the face and had a baseball size lump for weeks under his left eye. Angela took this photo today. She said he grabs on and won’t let go. I know I should not laugh because it isn’t funny and I’m so afraid he’s going to get kicked again, but he just cracks me up. I told Angela maybe we should get him a muzzle. Love and Hugs, JB

Marshall (NC Broad)
Hugs and Love
Hugs and Love

Dear Judy.Maybe Charlie should visit Hovis or vice versa!2 naughty boys together.Great pic!Love and hugs SheenaX

Dear Sheena:
Oh, he probably would teach Hovis some of his very “bad” behavior. Don’t think “Mother” would appreciate that. Love and Hugs, JB

Very nice photo of him on Stonestreet Facebook. He looks to be a compact fella. Was wondering if he will always race in the Maginer et al colors as he has his past two races or if he will wear the Stonestreet silks at times?

Magers learns horse game well
2 horses news anchor bred and co-owned win 3 Illinois-bred titles
February 17, 2012|By Neil Milbert, Special to the Tribune (Chicago Tribune)
Ron Magers didn’t have any visions of grandeur in the summer of 1991 when he ventured out on his own for the first time as a thoroughbred owner and claimed a 3-year-old filly named Lehmi Go for $16,000 at Arlington Park.
“My highest hope at the time was that I might get the $16,000 back,” the WLS-Ch. 7 news anchor reminisced. “I didn’t think beyond that.”

Sorry to hear that Bob Denver has died. He brought many smiles and laughs to us, both as Gilligan and earlier as Maynard G. Krebs on ” Dobie Gillis” (some of us will remember that far back, I think). I think that was “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis”, actually.

Quiet souls come in shy people. They learn to guide themselves through hardships and through loneliness; they learn to befriend invisible friends-and from these friendships they learn to be drawn into the light. Indian children cannot bear to be observed, to be called to perform. But when the light falls on them by their choice, they stand in it however uncomfortable they may be.

sheena.davies(wales)

I’m still getting a good laugh out of your comments about Jerry Hall. You are wise.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Oh my goodness, I never would have believed that Fubu’s sight would return!

Max
Mullins sent 3 horses to Warwick and they came home with two wins and a second. Some say that it’s because Mullins has the top horses in his yard. Not so. Min for example never won until he was trained by Mullins. Nichols Canyon has also improved with Mullins. He’s a fantastic trainer. He does all of the training himself without any assistants. He stands out in the field with his dog and watches each horse walk by. He has to be careful where he stands because some of the horses like to take a bite at him when they pass by. It’s just really great.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Thanks for this info. Quite a guy! Gotta watch those “nippers”. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
I forgot to mention that the dog is called Riley. He might be an assistant trainer as he’s always with Mullins.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Too cute! Love and Hugs, JB
Elizabeth in NM
Dear Max,
Love the thought of Riley as a trainer!

Max
Not very white today because of the mud. Kerry is doing doing well with her training. Mountainous ran a very good race last week to take the Welsh Grand National.
As for the Mullins crowd, Black Hercules is coming along with Patrick Mullins aboard. Thomas Hobson never gives up.
sheena.davies(wales)
I visited so many country houses in England and Scotland, that it’s a blur.
sheena.davies(wales)

Be safe today Dolphus, little brother to our queen.
Max
Isn’t Dolphus a half brother to Rachel Alexandra? I don’t think that he’s related to Zenyatta. Last that we heard, Z’s full brother was apparently headed to Ireland to be trained at Ballydoyle.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Shirlee and Max:
Yes, Dolphus (Lookin At Lucky – Lotta Kim) is half to RA; same Mama.
Shirlee, probably have our Queen on your mind. Love and Hugs, JB

Max, I stand corrected. He is a half to Rachel.
Max
