Oh I am so happy Ann and Zenny had a Christmas visit. Wonderful! I love these photos. Zenny is always smiling when she is with her Ann. Merry Christmas to all. Zenyatta, my angel, I love you forever.
Zenny part of time sleep in warm stall in deep soft straw slowly drink enough amount of clean not cold water green light hay support horses in 30F 22F im afraid of jumps over high wooden fences will be heavy injuryes no health no fillyes no foals not honestly in direction to him all was taken nothing to him
I realize I’m a bit behind, but I did finally get a chance to read about the Retraining program that Coz is going into. Cross your fingers, toes and nose. You never know, but I would probably have to agree that the hunter discipline might be a good one for him. It remains to be seen however if he has any talent or desire to be a jumper. Hm! Just a thought but perhaps considering the fact his Mom was the dancing queen maybe he could take a crack at dressage. Best Wishes and Good Luck to our Boy!!!
Dear Judy. Still no news of Hermes. We got some snow and ice in the UK today.Gosh 5ft in parts of PA Chepsow was abandoned but we had racing at Kempton and Wetherby also Leopardstown. It was good to see a grey Politologue win the Desert Orchid chase.Glad you got to see the Royal photos.goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
Check out this article to find out what a real winter is like. This is a reason why those elite Canadian thoroughbreds at Woodbine fly to Florida until spring.
Thank you so much for the wonderful pictures of Ann and Zenyatta. They look so happy together. Can’t wait for the other pictures. Merry Christmas again to Ann, Zenyatta, Coz, Ziconic and the little princess.
Happy New Year to beautiful Ann, Zenny and her babies.
Happy New Year Team Z. Thank you for all your efforts and time in keeping us posted this year. May 2018 be a year full of Hope, Love and Peace in these uncertain times.
Such sad news from Leopardstown as Nichol’s Canyon has been euthanised after a fall in the Christmas hurdle.Only 7 and trained by Mullins he has raced in the US and was well known for beating Faugheen.I have just found out and don’t know the details Henri de Bromhead has also lost Montana Belle Much sympathy to all connections but my heart is always with these brave chasers. RIP
Very sad and extremely upsetting news. He was one of my favorites, small but mighty. He has however never raced in the US. He travelled last summer to race here, but was injured in a freak accident on route. Great loss to the Wylie’s, Mullins and all racing fans. RIP Nic.
I had forgotten about the accident.Little grey cells not working too well these days. The hurdle had been dolled off in the previous races but was deemed fit to jump in the Christmas Hurdle Mullins said it was the shadow that caused the fatal fall.He just didn’t deserve that The short guy paid tribute to his toughness and he was such a happy horse. But as we all know racing goes on and it’s Faugheen tomorrow in the Ryanair. One of those out of love with racing days.
Max
It’s very hard to accept these losses. Each time that it happens I remember all of the horses who have died tragically. I’m sure that you do too. Very unsettling when it happens, and, as they leave us, these friends take a little piece of our hearts with them.
The mare Apple’s Jade (formerly trained by Willie)went on to win the race.Nichol’s Canyon was the reigning stayers hurdler and had won 8 group one races.A great loss not only to his connections but racing in general.Nos Dda cariad bach.
Reigning Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Sizing John is soundly beaten in the Christmas Chase as Gigginstown horses fill the first 3 places.Road to Respect the winner Sizing John has now drifted in the betting and Might Bite the King George winner is clear favourite.
Dear Judy.So very sad to lose Nichol’s Canyon. We lost 2 in the UK today and 3 in Ireland.Maybe the ground after the bad weather I don’t know>It upsets all except the hardened punter,
Expecting rain and gales tomorrow. Our weather is never boring.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
I just found this update and the fabulous pictures of Ann and Zenny. What a glorious connection they have…so sweet.
I do wish many of us would have the opportunity to visit Zenny … all these years after her retirement she still takes my breath away.
Saw a blurb in the newspaper stating that Jack Van Berg passed away in Little Rock, Ark. The Hall of Fame trainer of Alysheba was 81. He ranks fourth all-time among trainers in North America. He had relocated his training base from Southern California in 2013. The wonderful Alysheba won the 1987 Derby and Preakness.
RIP Mr. Van Berg. Thank you.
Condolences to family and friends.
A huge upset in the Ryanair at Leopardstown when favourite Faugheen was pulled up when well beaten possibly injured?.Looks as if there will be no clash in the Cotswolds with Buveur D’Air.Sizing John is reported to be fine after yesterday’s poor run.He has thoroughly examined by vets and will have more blood tests in a few days.Mick Jazz won the Ryanair.
Let’s Dance won her race today in a Moose like fashion. She was reluctant at first to jump off, but then decided to win. She fell on the short guy her last time out and he ended up with a broken leg. She’s fine.
Mullins thinks that Faugheen is just off. He might be developing a cold. Bad week for the Mullins yard especially with the loss of Nic.
Ah the Moose how I miss him.The vets at Leopardstown couldn’t find anything wrong with Faugheen. We shall see what his vets may find.Thank goodness Paul pulled him.A good jockey with the horse’s interests at heart.
More sad news from Rebecca Curtis Irish Cavalier a grey died today after a long battle with injuries he hasn’t raced since June.He was a fine winner of the Charlie Hall and will be sadly missed.RIP
Max
As time passes, the Moose is looking to be the smartest of them all. But then he is a chestnut.
