Nothing left to say about these pictures that hasn’t already been said, but I’m still sending a mega “THANK YOU” to Alys, Team Z, and everyone at Lanes End for providing these bits of joy. Still waiting to see a video of our little girl – really need that to make her seem “real.” Does anyone know whether her curly mane is really unusual or have we just missed this in other pictures of foals? Of course, we’ve been concentrating on male foals up until now :-) So glad that Zenny and LIS are apparently sharing paddocks and swapping stories about their kids.
Wow!! Great photos…..thank you SO much :) Z is forever beautiful, and Z princess
is all girl with the awesome curlie mane!! Bet she’ll be a mirror reflection of Mom Z…
she’s getting big already….love those expressive eyes and big ears :) Would love
an update on Coz & Zi too, please!
Z, you’re an absolutely wonderful Mom……remember to teach princess your dance!
Luv & kisses to all your soft noses.
I see from the first two pictures that Zenny has black-lined ears (seen from the back) and so does her little big girl. They match up perfectly, in this way, and in every other. I love the curly mane, too! Wonder who that comes from……
Hi Z’sters,
Just a quick note to say that Reilly is doing well and still enjoying his food, walks and life in general.
My computer(s) cannot get on-line due to a problem with the modem, it seems, so I have not been able to communicate this week — Time Warner will be out tomorrow AM to fix it. There goes my Saturday morning sleep-in!! I am sending this post from the computer at work.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREETINGS to Peggy!! Hope you had a wonderful day. Lots of good wishes for many more to come! Hugs
Trina, thanks for the “Peggy birthday poem”!! Just great!! Hugs
Terry C., thanks for the “50 to 1” review. Sounds good; I will watch for it. Cheers!
Marshall, So glad to hear Reilly is doing well and hope he continues to do so. Hope the wait for TM is not too long. Of course, they will show up at the very last minute after you have waited all morning. Comcast has a way of doing that too.
Dear Max.Sacre Bleu!I hope Hovis isn’t going “all European”on us especially after the election results. The Lib-dems are in disarray wonder how long Nick can last! It’s been a fairly quiet week for us racing fans,we are gearing up for the Epsom Meeting. There were farcical scenes at Down Royal tonight, the stalls appeared to be broken and they were on the 12th false start for the 8.30pm race! The BHA hearing for the Grand National jockeys is on June IIth Moosie seems to be having a relaxing holiday.Nissy used the F-word today Frost!!Mouses it’s the end of May.

Sheena.
Vive Moosie libre! Soyez fort Danny!
Sheena. Frost! I was talking today with my buds about how great it is to be snow free. Driving to work takes less time. We can all do without frost too. Isn’t Nissyland milder because it’s on the sea and moderated by the Gulf Stream? I saw that in a movie about North America going back to the Ice Age, the Day After Tomorrow? For awhile this winter, it seemed to be coming true.
Looking forward to see what the beak does with the jockeys. Is there anyone left for Epsom? Saw those comments by O’Brien about the turf. Is he pulling Australia? Irish horses ought to excel on soft ground?
Free the Moose! Power up Danny!
Dear Judy.I was so sorry to hear Ruby and Diamond have left the farm,I know how you’d grown so fond of them.Hope, maybe, you can see them again someday.Lovely video of Hudson and Amanda.Nissy and Seville were interviewed today for a website ,am going to try and post the link for you.Love and hugs to you LM PC HT Little Cap Hercules and all the Sweeties.SheenaX Goodnight and God bless. http://mousebreath.com/2014/05/nerissa-whisk-tech/

Glad you enjoyed the video of Hudson and Amanda. Thank you so much for the link to Nissy and Seville’s interview. They are amazing. Love and Hugs, JB, LM, PC, HT, Cap, Herc and all the Sweeties

Dear Max.Your French is excellent! I hope Nissy’s peep is looking after her plants,we,ve been known to have cold nights in May but again this has been a very wet month .We’ve been promised a decent weekend but another wettish week before the Derby,Aidan doesn’t want soft ground for Australia.I’m sure you are happy to have better weather you have to get to work very early as I used to and it’s horrible during the dark winter mornings. It’s the jump jockeys who are facing the beak except for Brendan Powell because Battle Group did a “Moosie”Free the Moose.PU Dan.Sheena.
Sheena. Yes, I well remember BG acting in solidarity with our Moosie.
I kind of like dark weather and rain. It’s freezing rain that I hate. Had to get these foot claw things from LL Bean to be able to navigate on icy sidewalks.
Had to learn French to get out of prep school and into college, then went to England where they only use words like savoir faire or entre nous and not much else. Speaking French seems frowned upon in the UK, although as you know The Queen speaks excellent French. Churchill also spoke French. I’m certain that Kauto understands it. Same for Quevega. Recall that Mullins had a chat with her breeder who spoke no English and Mullins speaks no French. Mullins still got the gist of it that Quevega was a late developing diva, which in fact all turned out to be true.
Free the Moose. Power up Danny.

Thank You so much to everyone that gave me Happy Birthday wishes. I’m afraid to list names as I don’t want to leave anyone out. Thank You everyone. I know I did post some about my seeing Coz before, but some may not have read it. I did get to see him again when I was down in Ocala.
The thing I like to say most about him is that he is just about the most gorgeous thing I have seen. When he starts to race if there’s any Filly’s around I think they will probably go weak in the knees. He’s that gorgeous.
I see a lot of his Dam’s dad in him. Quiet American. And, I bet everyone knows how I adore Q American. I am more familiar with Bernie’s side than Zenyatta’s side. And OMG, A P Indy.
I read some stuff off a card I had carried him. And, you guys he listened very intently as he knew exactly what I was saying.
They told me that he does bite and I did get to see his frisky side.
He’s a grown up Stallion now. John might have his hands full.
Ann & Jerry I know are so proud. I think I just stood in awe of him I keep thinking he may be leaving soon to start his racing career. I hope so much that they share with us when he gets on the van or plane to join John. I know I am going to cry.
To Ann, Jerry, I am going to keep him in my prayers. So hard praying for him to have a very safe racing career. May God take care of him. Will always keep him in my prayers.
The wonderful and beautiful Zenyatta and Bernie shine so brightly in him.
Just to clarify something. I meant to say I see a lot of Bernie’s Mom ‘s Dad In him. Cara’s Dad “Quiet American” So Sorry I immediately saw this. Q American has such a beautiful face. I see so much similarity. So beautiful. In Coz.
You describe COZ so well, it’s like actually seeing him. He is stunningly handsome in his photos and I’m sure more so up close and personal. It’s wonderful that you got to visit him. Love and Hugs, JB
I just went in and googled some pictures of Quiet American, because I just wanted to see him. There was an article on Thoroughbred Journey. It said that Quiet American’s groom affectionately called him the Sexy Senior Citizen. Those pictures were so gorgeous of him. I bet they will call Coz The Sexy Senior Citizen when he gets there too. They said that it was iroinic that he was called anything Quiet as he was so vocal always. He sure was vocal the day I saw him. My computer seems to be navigating the internet tonight, go figure! While I have access, allow me to send you my sincere thanks for all your good wishes for Reilly. We are honored to have such dear friends on this wonderful blog.
Lots of love and hugs to all!
Thanks, Judy, I have only before seen a few still shots of “bathing time”, from photographers peeking under fence and trees because they can’t get closer (with security tight around CC). These backsiders work hard.
JudyB. Thank you for finding this. Very enjoyable. Recall another of Mario giving Zenyatta her bath. Like watching horses getting a good bath. Also like watching them having a nice sleep.
I remember that video of Mario giving Z a bath. Also, speaking of horses sleeping; the best video ever is JS trying to wake up a sleepy Life is Sweet. Love the way JS talks to her. Here it is. Love and Hugs, JB
That’s one of the cutest videos ever. The other horse seemed really befuddled, but just continued his grooming. The cat and the horses are beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Love and Hugs, JB
It does warm the heart, doesn’t it! Left you a message up top regarding Diamond and Ruby – keeping fingers crossed you get visiting rights (remember, we want to see her grow too!). Love and hugs, KathyR.

Dear Kathy R:
If Jackie sends me photos of Diamond from time to time, I will post. Love and Hugs, JB
Thank you so much for posting the pictures and the updates on how Zenyatta and her babies are progressing, I think I speak for all of us saying “we miss her” and “love her so much.” Thank you.
As you know, I went up to Sydney (Warwick Farm racecourse) to attend the funeral for the wonderful Guy Walter. It was a gorgeous day all round – the stands were packed with around 2000 people. Guy entered the track escorted by two clerk of course greys, and through a guard of honour of fellow trainers and jockeys. We heard heartfelt comments from his brothers, sister, longtime vet and another trainer. But we agreed that the closing comment from his brother was just perfect. He asked us all to stand “while a gentleman leaves the track”. That he may have done, but he’ll always be in our hearts. Thank you all for your prayers for Guy and his extended family. Hugs, KathyR.
beautyfull Zenny i always like you, Zenny have rest in paddock, drink clean water, in photos good weather at you, green grass, green trees, Coz i watched your video, i like how you neigh and frolick, when you were lil foal, Coz in now time you breeze well, breeze on clean soft course, walk near half of hour after travel, care of legs and back, Coz, belmont park races usually are heavy, watch one quiet race on wet belmont course, youtube ” 2014 poker stakes horse racing ” , tell to California Chrome ” use full gallop speed only on wet course, on dry course carefully feel condition of legs, if will be need, alow to herd of horses to choose quick horse by theirselves ” , i want to be like life is sweet foal for to kiss soft noses of Zenny 14z ziconic Coz and their mates
In this age of defending and demanding rights, we are often faced with the question of who holds us back more than anyone else…and in all honesty we must admit we are the ones. We narrow our vision and develop helpless and hopeless attitudes to defeat us. And yet, we are the ones who speed us on as well. Our good attitudes keep us moving and active and able to do everything without reacting to the smallest incident as a barrier in our way. We are willing to work, to initiate and set in motion the good of life, and do it by not stepping on others. We keep a constant vigil over our thoughts and action. In this way we follow our lo qui si, star, and reach up that we may lift others up with us.
Misfortunes do not flourish particularly in our path. They grow everywhere.

Dear Kathy.Just can’t believe it’s June tomorrow, this year is flying by only a week to go ,our Derby and your Belmont!!Fubu is getting his prezzies early,he’s a lucky boy, hope he will eat a bit better though. His girly Lucy Lu is worried about him and her sisfur,. she also lost some friends this week.Loved Boo sticking his tongue out!Saw that pic of Ray and Jack O and that large tick hilarious!!
Glesni is showing signs she is about to become a mum very subtle changes in her behaviour about a week to go!!I do hope Blue 24 doesn’t cause any disruption!
Marty was lucky to get that lovely bag to hold his bizness licenses and he had a visitor too!Chip’s girly is helping with the refurbishment of their new home LOL she has a beautiful coat!Hope you enjoy your break in Silent Valley next week.Have a great Saturday.Hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
The time is really flying. Remember when you were a kid…it seemed to take FOREVER for Christmas, your birthday and summer vacation? Now the months and years are just flying by. And a decade? That’s gone in no time! As an acquaintance of mine used to say, “We’re racing to our graves.” A bit morbid but I guess there’s a grain of truth to that! All the furbabies are as adorable as ever. Chip’s girlfriend is gorgeous. I think one of them needs to move!!! Fingers crossed that Blue 24 leaves Glesni alone. Really looking forward to a break. I intend to get a lot of reading done and a lot of relaxing. Have a great weekend. Hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.
Remembering the mighty Arkle who passed away this day in 1970 aged 13yrs…….It fell to James Kavanagh, who accompanied the miserable Maxie Cosgrove to give Arkle his last injection. The great horse went down in his box and went to sleep forever. You remain in my heart always. Beautiful Boy.RIP. Hugs SheenaX
Wow, he’s quite thrilling to watch! Lots of Youtube videos of him. He was a Super Horse. I see that they have his skeleton on display at a museum in Ireland. Also a nice bronze statue of him. Looks like he had a following kind of like Secretariat over here. RIP, Arkle.
Kathy. The first contemporary US horse to garner the same kind of publicity and following as Arkle is Native Dancer. A common factor between the two is that Arkle is a grandson of Nearco. Northern Dancer is also grandson of both Nearco and Native Dancer. Native Dancer is the sire of his momma, Natalma.
The skeleton is on display at the National Stud in Ireland. Don’t like the idea of the skeleton of a great horse being on display. Prefer the Duke of Wellington’s
approach of saying that he did not know where his war horse Copenhagen was buried, notwithstanding that he had presided over the burial and had commissioned a marker to be erected over the site.
Free the Moose! And power up Danny!
Kathy
Max,
Interesting connection between Arkle and Native Dancer. The study of the bloodlines of the great horses is fascinating. I have to agree that Arkle’s skeleton on display turns me off. At any case, I sure enjoyed watching his ’64 Gold Cup win. Glad to see there are so many Youtube videos of him that I can watch.
Free the Moose, Power up Danny and Go California Chrome!

Max, in one of the old copies of, The Maryland Horse, I saw a wonderful photo of, Native Dancer’s stall, his trunk and plaque. Also in the photo, a group of school kids touring his old stomping grounds.
Pretty neat! Glad that farm was saved. Yes, he was the talk of the town.
Terry Crow
Native Dancer only lost one race in his life, the Kentucky Derby. He was the “beneficiary” of one of the worst rides ever by Eric Guerin.
Dear Max.Thank you for that. It’s such a shame there are’nt more peeps around that remember this magnificent horse.I also miss Alastair Down on our racing team, putting Nick Luck in his place huh!!Weather still good here!Free the Moose.PU Dan.Sheena.
Sheena. Arkle was a superb jumper like Rummy. You cannot know about steeplechase without knowing about him. He loved his Guinness. Liked that comment in the video about his mail being delivered to Arkle, Ireland. He also got mail with the address: Himself, Ireland. Real shame that he died so young.

It is my understanding that CC uses glue-on shoes. In my experience that means that the horse in question has tender feet. Hope this is not an issue.

Thanks, Judy, I have only before seen a few still shots of “bathing time”, from photographers peeking under fence and trees because they can’t get closer (with security tight around CC). These backsiders work hard.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Vicki B:
You’re so welcome. Yes, it’s nice to be able to see what it’s like behind the scenes. The backside workers are unsung heroes. Love and Hugs, JB

JudyB. Thank you for finding this. Very enjoyable. Recall another of Mario giving Zenyatta her bath. Like watching horses getting a good bath. Also like watching them having a nice sleep.

Dear Max:
I remember that video of Mario giving Z a bath. Also, speaking of horses sleeping; the best video ever is JS trying to wake up a sleepy Life is Sweet. Love the way JS talks to her. Here it is. Love and Hugs, JB

KathyR. Very interesting friendship. I think that Kincsem’s cat used to hitch a ride on her back too. They were inseparable.

Dear Zenyatta family:

May 31 Cherokee Devotional

Kathy
Dear Sheena,
The time is really flying. Kathy.
Go California Chrome!

Sheena. Something about Arkle.

Dear Max and Sheena:
Max, thank you for this video of Arkle. Beautiful and amazing horse. Remembering him today. Love and Hugs, JB
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Wow, he’s quite thrilling to watch! Lots of Youtube videos of him. He was a Super Horse. I see that they have his skeleton on display at a museum in Ireland. Also a nice bronze statue of him. Looks like he had a following kind of like Secretariat over here. RIP, Arkle.
Hugs, Kathy
Max

He was the “beneficiary” of one of the worst rides ever by Eric Guerin.
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max.Thank you for that. It’s such a shame there are’nt more peeps around that remember this magnificent horse.I also miss Alastair Down on our racing team, putting Nick Luck in his place huh!!Weather still good here!Free the Moose.PU Dan.Sheena.
Max
