Happy Thursday!
Our favorite colt has new paddock-mates this week. 12Z and his two best buds joined five other horses in a 40 acre paddock. All are the same age and from the same barn. There are two fillies in the group, and they both like to hang out with the new guys.
Alys sent these pictures for us. She says 12Z is just like his mom, always coming over to check out the camera!
We also wanted to share this video from our visit earlier this month. It was shot early on a gray morning, right after turnout.

Good luck to all cappers in the Travers.
Jan S. / Houston
Yeah… That’s him alright. Big Ham & his posse. LOL.
Donna Heim
Z12 seems to be doing very well. Glad he became so comfy with his humans, too. How is Zenny doing without him? Any recent pictures of her since he was weaned?
tbpartner43
Thank you Lane’s End and Alys for the lovely update. Still get a charge out of a 40 acre field being called a paddock. Thinking Zenyatta might be a tad glad to get some tim off from her rambunctious offspring.
tess
Comparing Zen’s yearling picture and 12Z now they look identical. Even the ear flop :)
Thank you LE for the updates.

Dear Tess:

Dear Z Fans and Cappers:
What an upset in the Travers. Alpha lost by a whisker to long shot Golden Ticket. GT ran a very good race. Street Life (part of my Exacta with Alpha) never fired. Hope he is OK. Congrats to anyone who handicapped Golden Ticket. Wow. GT paid $26.80 to win. Hugs, JB
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Z Fans:
So sorry for misinformation in above post. Just discovered Alpha and Golden Ticket were in a Dead Heat for the win in the Travers. Both ran great; would have been a tough loss for either one. Hugs, JB

Judy,
Re: Street Life
DRF article said “soft tissue injury to left front pastern” and “not a life threatening injury” according to his trainer.

Dear Maryp:
Thank you. So hope he recovers well. Hugs, JB

Hi Everyone, just back in here tonight after a very busy short week., First love the pictures above. The weather was horrible in Florida this week but I enjoyed the sale. Only got to stay one day this time but enjoyed it very much. The best word I could say is my favorite I could just lose my mind and thats so true. Such Beautiful Yearlings. I am always attracted to those secretariat look a likes and there was one there that was so beautiful. OMG. AP Indy was represented by some (I will call them Grandkids) Flower Alley had some coming up in the open sale. I was wanting to see them but had to get on back.
What was so nice as you walked in the front door to the sales pavillion, Guess whose picture had just been added to the Celebrity line up of horses selling from there. Our wonderful I’ll Have Another….He was the first picture on the right side wall. Just love him.
I did not see many Japanese there this time. I think I have seen more of them at the 2year old sale. I think the March 2year old sale is my favorite because you get to see all the celebrities there as well as the great horses. I think this past March I saw about everyone you could imagine. Everyone but D. Wayne Lucas and he was on the phone one time but lost out on the sale. So much fun. It was of course one of AP Indy’s last off spring and Mark Casse got him. Wayne might have got him if he hadn’t lost connection on the phone. Everyone that lives close to Lexington are so fortunate, I would love to go to the Keenland sales one year too. Only thing about that is you have to chose because most of the farms want let you visit them as they are working the sales.
Dear Sis Dawn, so glad to see you positng. I went back to work Friday and they had a wonderful party for me. It was wonderful. Lots of former employees and my customers were there. Was just wonderful. My picture was in the paper, Oh my, but it was wonderful. I walked into church last Sunday morning and My paster walked up to the pulpit with a newspaper in his hand and I though, Oh no, yep he did. He said he asked the choir if I would mind his showing this and they told him I wouldn’t. Well he showed everyone and read the caption. I was very honored. I told them at work that they shouldn’t have done all this but it was very nice..
So wish Dawn youand everyone of you could have been there for my party. I worked as normal Friday afternoon and I said O.K. now back to normal. My actual anniversary of 4o years is Tuesday Aug 28. Doesn’t seem like that long.
Love to Everyone
Love Ya Zenny and Z12

Dear Peggy N.:
Glad you’re back posting and thanks for sharing your visit to Florida with us. Happy 40th Anniversary on Tuesday. My Russ worked at Narragansett Electric here in Providence for 45 years. I know he would want to wish you a Happy Anniversary too. Hugs, JB
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Thank You so much Judy and Russ. I hope to make 45. It was such a fun day. We get to pick a gift from my company and I just did that today. It was fun. The time has really passed by very fast. I just watched Dullahan win. I was pulling for him. Even though I do like Bob Baffert alot and his runners. So happy for Dullahan today. Hugs, Peggy
Sally B. (cherish Z- Wi.)
Peggy (N), I am very happy to learn you were at the sales in Fla. You mentioning this brings back my memories at the March sale last year!! (Beautiful horse memories for sure) Glad to see some AP Indy grandkids. My grandchild, Colton, always asks me about Secretariat, because he likes the male horse, whereas my granddaughter thinks Zenyatta is the coolest mare. haha
Congratulations on 40 yrs! You sure deserved that party!!!!
hugs, Sally B
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Thank so much Sally. Still so sorry I missed seeing you in March. If we go to the same sales again we will have to pick a point, like maybe at the picture Of I’ll Have Another or Lit E Tee and get to meet each other. Oops not sure I spelled that right….
Thanks too for the Congratulations. Hugs Peggy
Oh please tell Sue there were some of Indy’s Grandkids there.
Jo-An
Why haven’t we heard anything about Zenyatta? Since the Weaning
Maribel
The ZZ Top looks wonderful as usual …. how is Mom doing ? She has been in my thoughts so often during the last couple of days. Thanks for the pictures ..enjoyed Mike’s video immensely…love to ALL at LE :)
sheena.davies (wales)

Ann
That is a very cleaver name. I like it. If our little guy wins…..we will be Dancing in the Street!
Eileen
Great name……
Ann
Cleaver, guess I was thinking of June……..clever.
Sally B. (cherish Z- Wi.)
Cute clever name! I still love Momma can dance, that someone on the Diary suggested way back.
Sally B. (cherish Z- Wi.)
Lane’s End Team Z, You sure brightened my day on this dreary Sunday in Wi.!!! Absolutely loved the pictures and the video. I think 12Z would have worn our Zenyatta out if he was not weaned from mom!haha He is full of life and a handsome dickens. How is our sweet Zenyatta?? I would love to know and look at some pictures of our beautiful mare. I could never get enough of her.
Sending love n kisses on Z’s soft nose, and to 12z too, Auntie Sally
Thank you

Dear Judy, if you hear anything about It’s Tricky please post. Hope she comes out OK after that bad stumble. No, they didn’t say anything was wrong. But you always worry when you see a stumple like that. She looked like she came down hard. Just love her.

Hey Judy, left you a message on the other side at Ask the Experts.

When will 12Z be named, or is his official name 12Z?
suew/Va
Hi Z’sters…check out some new pics of 12Z in the photo section. They’re great.

I love little z… I think they should name him Secreking. Cause his daddy has Secretariat, and well he will become a king soon! or Heir To The Throne. Love them both.

To all Z’sters, Queen Z and Prince Z,
Have a good rest and sweet dreams!
Thoughts and prayers for all in Isaac’s path. Hope the hurricane will move on very soon and carry that rain to dry areas. If we could only re-direct that excessive precipitation to the states in severe drought. I wish!
Sincere best wishes to Paynter! Wellness prayers in abundance are sent your way.
Please hang tough and know that we are pulling hard for your recovery, sweet boy!
All the very best wishes!
