We all appreciate very much what Dottie has created, bringing the voice of Zenyatta to her multitude of fans. We can also appreciate just how much work went into completing over a year’s worth of daily dairy entries, describing from November 1, 2010 the transition of a tremendous race horse to becoming a broodmare and, today, a successful one with a healthy colt by her side. For all of this we are grateful. Grateful, as always, for being blessed with owning this great mare since she was a yearling. Grateful for the treatment and training she received form John Shirreffs, Mike Smith and the great people at Barn 55. Grateful for all the terrific people at Lane’s End Farm, her current care-takers, doing what they do everyday for Zenyatta.
And certainly grateful to Dottie, our racing manager, who emerged to describe Zenyatta’s thoughts as if she could write them herself.
Well done Zenyatta!
And well done, Dottie!
With this website, we will do our best to continue to inform you of what’s happening in Zenyatta and her colt’s lives. Stories of interest will be published periodically with photos and news flashes as the events dictate. It probably won’t make up for the daily Diary that told her story so very well, but in the meantime, we hope you will continue to enjoy Zenyatta.com. We appreciate how much this community means to Zenyatta’s fans just as we appreciate how much all of you mean to her.
With gratitude,
Ann & Jerry Moss

Hello everyone!
We are constantly hard at work behind the scenes to make sure this website is running smoothly. We will continue to add photos, videos, and new features. Currently in the works is a forum where you can all share stories, memories, horse racing news, and all things Zenyatta. Check back very soon for updates!

“Thank You” does not seem to fully express the appreciation felt for Dottie, the Mosses and all members of Team Z in sharing Queen Z’s story in such a public way. It has been a rare and delightful way to document her story from the race track to successful broodmare. A more private lifestyle is well deserved for Queen Z and her baby. Periodic updates will be appreciated, and well wishes for her continued good health and happy life at Lane’s End.
Cecile
Well done Dottie indeed! Many thanks for all of your hard work helping Zenyatta put “hoof to paper” – your efforts are very much appreciated. Best wishes for continued happiness and good health for all the Zenyatta family! And wishing a safe birth to Zenyatta’s BFF, Tasty.

Thank you does not seem adequate to express the appreciation to you, Dottie, for all of your beautiful and thoughtful words over the last year. It is yard to believe it has been that long – each day you brought so much joy to so many people and we also learned so much from you along the way too. It is time for Zenyatta to go and be a Mom and we will miss her but will watch for special postings and pictures along the way of she and her beautiful boy. Best wishes to you all and a heartfelt thank you! High hoofs and blush, blushes to you all. Your words were loved Dottie. So much fun it was……………………………..because of all of you and our girl Zenny – thanks to you too Zenyatta for sharing your life with all of us – now go and enjoy!

I must tell you Jerry. I had a lousy day at work and wanted to take a chance and go to Zenny`s diary. Thank God I read what I did. Just knowing that there will be SOME communication about her and the baby makes it tolerable. Thank you and everyone else who was a part of this decision not to take her totally away from us….But I really shouldn`t exspect any less from the Mosses and Zennys entire team!!!! You`re the BEST!!! Must always know about Zenyatta (I never call her that) and the baby…Lots of hugs and thank u`s….ALENE

Thank you so much for all you have done to contine to share Zenyatta’s life with all of us. It means so much. I have to believe that Zenyatta was meant to be linked with the lives of wonderful people like Jerry and Ann–it completes the magic package and she might not have achieved the greatness that was her destiny without them.
Thank you to Dottie for being the voice of Zenyatta. I’m sure you all know that without these videos and personal sharing that Lane’s End would have been besieged with crazed fans peering over fences. :-) Our love affair with Queen Z will never end.
Love and hugs–and keep the photos and videos coming when you can, please and thank you!

For some reason, I feel much better now that the Moss family has done such a sweet gesture to formally thank Dottie and Zenyatta in their letter. So it is my turn to say….
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTEM OF MY HEART Dottie!!! As a working mom words cannot describe the inspiration I received from reading the diary. Any of us can have the ZENYATTASPHERE effect in our daily lives if we take more time to be thoughtful, grateful, and generous.
Big HUGS!!!
Below is my post card from the Bronze Contest….had to share it with ALL OF YOU!!!
What Zenyatta means to this
working mom
It’s 6:30 AM and Zenytatta is slow to get
out of the gate. She gets the kids
dressed, dropped off to day care, and
arrives at work dead last. Heading into
the day she is lolloping along. Coming
into the mid-day stretch she is begging
to pick up her stride. Around the
clubhouse turn she is turning it on. She
is bounding along through the
paperwork as she picks up the kids and
heads for home. She is _rolling_ into
the driveway and drags the kids
screaming up the stairs.
UNBELIEVABLE, she is making dinner
look all too easy. How else do you
describe perfection? ZENYATTA has
put dinner on the table!!!

Mr. & Mrs. Moss, thank you so much for welcoming us in and being so gracious. You’ve allowed us to b a part of a once in a lifetime experience and we hope you were as blessed by it as we’ve been.
No matter what this little baby does or does not accomplish, he will always have the love of many. The photo of him & Zen on the last of Zen’s (Dottie’s) blog is my wallpaper on my work computer. He looks like he’s smiling and it’s so easy to picture him bouncing around with her looking on being his solid security.
Many blessings to you!

Dear Ann and Jerry, Dottie and John and Team Zenyatta:
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful journey of Zenyatta’s amazing career with us. I recently had surgery and as I was recovering read her diary post every night. Dotties spirit and Zenyattas seem to blend seamlessly together to create these very special diary posts that make each day seem worthwhile and bright.
As someone who works as a strategic planner for non profits I truly apprecite your efforts to assit horse organizations. They really need your support and you have become such an example for others. There is a right and wrong way to do things but the team you have put together have done things the exceptional way, just like Zenny. Please know that along with all of her other fans the way you have shared her is truly appreciated and admired.
I am involved in the world of purebred dogs and we have many of the same challenges that the racing industry has – we need more examples like this.
They are so important to help educate and inspire others.
In appreciation and admiration

To the Mosses and Dottie, thank you so much for sharing Z and keeping us informed. Thank you for caring like you do, for all the time invested. You certainly did not have to. That you saw (see) the magnificent gift that Z is, well, speaks volumes of your heart. That you shared her, that is generosity. Wish the world were more like you. Blessing to you all.
ellen
Thank you Mr. and Mrs Moss for sharing Zenyatta with us. Dottie, I do not know how you do it. You have a wonderful gift of writing. You explained so much to us. I thank you very much. Being a racing manager, plus the voice of Zenyatta is alot of work.
Am sure this website, diary information, pictures, etc takes on a life of its own.
Thank you everyone at Team Z for all you do for us fans.

What else can be added to all of the above? To everyone on Team Zenyatta, and quoting the great Neil Young, “Long May You Run.”
My fondest wish is that I might someday see Zenny in person, even at a distance across the paddock. It is not often that one spots perfection here on earth, but we all know that’s what Zenny represents.
I am now doubly glad to have attended the party at Churchill Downs in November..
With the greatest love and respect to all of Zenny’s connections and high hoofs to Dottie, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Linda in NC

I think you could have avoided the terrible uproar and lots of pain and fears on the part of fans to have published this letter first before having “Z” (aka Dottie) sign off as if there would be no more from Z at all!
That said, what a gracious bunch of people you all are… thank you to Jerry and Ann Moss for your kind care of Zenyatta, for raising her slowly, racing her just enough, retiring her to a wonderful place to ensure her best care, and to Dottie for your hard work in writing for Zenyatta which brought so much joy and laughter … “TOO CUTE”… just how we could hear Zenyatta talking!
A billion thanks to the Mosses and Lane’s End for being willing to continue, at least periodically, providing us with pictures, videos, and updates… That’s so wonderful!
THANK YOU!!!

Though we’ll miss the daily diary, we are so grateful to Dottie for all her wonderful and informative posts, and to you for sharing Zenyatta with us. My husband and I have been privileged to see the Queen race in CA and have followed her amazing career for years. Thank-you so much
for all you have done for her and for us, her devoted fans. :-)

Thank you to all the Zenyatta team. So glad to hear the sharing will continue. Ann and Jerry Moss are such a class act. Dottie thanks for you tireless efforts. High Hoof to John, “The horse whisperer”. Mikey, I will never forget the skill you demonstrated at the 09 Breeders Cup, when you saw the Jockey in front of you on the right, raise his whip on the right side of his horse. You anticipated he would veer left, and block Zenny’s path. You veered away from him to the left and Zenyatta showed great Athletisism bouncing to the Outside. It was Magnificient! I re-watch that Video from this site all the time. Thanks to All the bloggers. Many of you have shared and healed thyself from lifes road blocks and pot holes by sharing on this site. Good luck to you all.
BLOODLINES: Looking for something Zennified to do? http://www.pedigreequery.com Track blood lines of Zenyatta. Did you know Zenyatta has Man O’ War in her Breeding? Movie buff? SeaBiscuit is related to Man O’ War. Zenny also has Princequillo! Think Secratariat’s Grandaddy. Track Bernadini and you will find Native Dancer , Bold Ruler, Secratariat. You will find several TRIPLE CROWN winners and Almost Triple crown contenders. Both track back to Eclipse and St Simon. Just for fun I have been doing web searches to see if I can match Baby Z’s Star shape to horses or their foals of these bloodlines. It’s Hard to find front on pictures but it is fun trying.
Also, If yall are coming down I95 on the east coast in Virgina, Check out “The Meadow” Event Park. Birth place of Secratariat. They still have the foaling stall as well as Riva Ridge and Secratariat’s stalls on display. Penny Chenery Tweedy will be there March 31st.
Thanks again to Ann and Jerry for demonstration of charity, humanity and the selfless giving of Zenyatta’s world to us. The continuation of Zenyatta’s Saga allows me to relive the thrill of watching her beauty and majesty as she circled the track (and the other horses). Please maintain the Video section of this Web site. It can give anyone a boost if your having an off day! I can still hear the track announcer ………” AND ZENYATTA”S COMING TO THE GRANDSTAND SIDE….”

Thanks to Dottie and the entire Zenyatta team and a special note of thanks to owners Ann and Jerry Moss for being such a rare breed – horse racing needs more like all of you!

Thanks to your entire team, and especially Dottie for her time. Most especially to Zenyatta, such a great champion. Those associated with her are surely aware how very special she is… And now a strong, balanced colt… The very best of luck to him and those around him. May the Gods bless him, keep him well and safe, and see that he excels at all he endeavors.

A HUGE thankyou to Dottie, Team Zenyatta, and the Moss’s for inviting us into Zenyatta’s life and sharing her story of transition, and now motherhood with us all.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Moss,
Thanks so much for this update! What a relief to know we’ll still get occasional news of Zenny and her foal. Thank you for understanding how much she means to all of us.
How I wish all horse owners loved their charges as much as you love yours.

Thank you so much for posting for so long on the diary! I have been checking here since before the breeders cup! I’m going to miss having the daily updates. Its so sad to see it go so shortly after the foal is born. I was looking forward to see how he would progress over time with Zenny! But, I understand how much work is put into this and on a very tight schedule. I’m going to miss hearing from the thoughts of Zenyatta, Queen of Racing!! Good luck with everything and thank YOU for keeping us updated on Zenyatta for SO long. We ALL appreciate YOU for EVERYTHING!!!
Best of wishes,
Sheri ♥ : )

To my dear sweet Z, horse of my lifetime, best horse friend one could ever have, your voice Dottie, Ann & Jerry and John; You have truly blessed me with the most wonderful ride of my life!!! I love you all. I have just read post 457 and Ann & Jerry’s letter. I may be in tears, but I know when you love some one, human and animal, you place their needs before your own. I can not selfishly complain as Dottie has given of herself Zenyatta’s voice since Nov, 2010. What a remarkable journey you have had Z and continue to have. I got to share in all of that!!! I will ALWAYS love you Zenyatta and will want what is best for you and your colt. I love your family Z and wish the best for them. I WILL NOT forget you and WILL KEEP LOOKING for any NEWS and pics, ENJOY MOMHOOD Z!! YOU will always be the one and only QUEEN OF DANCING and the greatest race horse mare ever in my life!!!
Thank You for everything. I’ll hear from you later. I still wish to also know about your charity things.
Your Forever Gentle on my Mind,

This is the first time I’ve left a comment but I am a daily reader. I am saddened to hear that we can’t keep up with our daily Zenyatta fix…I look so forward to seeing what is happening. Everyone in the Z Team and who writes about loving horses are like a family to me.
I have been a horse racing fan since 1965 and have seen many horses but none so like Zenyatta. When she blew by the field in her first Apple Blossom, I knew for myself then that I was seeing a Champion!
Thank you everyone at Team Z, for making her life so visible that we can share. And for fans who love Z, her baby, Tasty and horses, I wish you wonderful High Hoof days ahead.

I miss Zenyatta like crazy. she was my “Supergirl”, like the song goes, “She’s supergirl, she’s on a roll…”. boy, it’s been a horrible week…i thinkk it was the shock that did it, because i was so excited about her foaling such a beautiful colt. i love you, Z.
