Lane’s End Visit

Happy Monday!

We had a great time at Lane’s End. Zenyatta and 12Z were happy to see everyone, and there were plenty of carrots to go around.

12Z is now tall enough to put his head over the fence, and he weighs in at 560 lbs! He was in a playful mood and had lots of fun with both horse and human friends. Zenny showed off by splashing in the mud from Thursday night’s rain.

The Mosses also went to see one of their fillies at the farm. She is a little bit older than 12Z, and has recently been weaned. She is turned out with a happy and inquisitive group–some of her paddock mates had been weaned just two days before.

    Those EARS, those Mama Z ears on The Prinz. He is so beautiful and those dapples, so much to adore from the little big man…not a baby anymore.

    Our Prince has been weaned, and I love that term “Zen Man!” Bon chance to our godson as he enters this new phase of his life. Hopefully, we can continue to look over his withers as he grows.

    I have a question, please. Is that green tape on his right side halter to distinguish him in his photos or does it serve another purpose? Sorry if that question has already been asked and answered, but I missed it.

    Mr. & Mrs. Moss, you look truly delighted with each of your horses. Loved the picture of the carrot remnants.

        How many times have you said this! Gotta say this for some reason made me laugh today! I just had to “thank you” for the laughter! It seems like on every page someone asks the same question, and you always have the same answer!

        Did you get your bet fixed? or I should say the payout?

      He can be named anytime. He has to be registered before the end of foaling year, however he can be registered without a name. Most babies are not named, especially if there is any chance they will be entered into a sale, the purchaser of a sales yearling typically names their new purchase. It is highly unlikely that Baby Z would be for sale or be entered in a sale, but it sure makes you wonder what he would go for it that did happen. All Tb’s have to be named by Jan/Feb (there abouts I think) of their 2 yr old year, if that doens’t happen they can still be named but at a higher cost/fines.
      I would expect that when his owners send in for his registration by the end of the year, he will be named at that time :)

      Maybe they will give his fans a x-mas present by revealing his offical name :)

    Congrats to LE , Zenny and her Prince on a successful weaning. Now it’s on to the next phase of his life and some restful months for The Queen as she anticipates having her second. She is the perfect mother…12Z has a leg-up on the next chapter of his life because of the love she showered on him. I hope we continue to get updates on him.

    Thank you so much team Z, for the photos is always a pleasure to see mammy and son together, he is getting so big and he looks so much likes her.
    I came to the conclusion that why Z12 looks so much like Zenny, I think Zenny knows that we miss her in the track and we loves her so much that she give us her replacement.

    Love the photos and so glad the weaning went well. I am always so impressed how Ann and Jerry are always there for those special moments in Z’s life (to now include Z12). Such loving and classy people!

    I, for one, am relieved to hear the weaning is over and Z and Baby Z (gosh I hate to have to keep calling him that!) are both doing fine. I think we all knew she was going to take it in stride just like she does everything in her life but the Little One — well, leaving the nest is always unsettling. I guess the way he handled things is just not only a credit to all those at Lane’s End but to what we can expect from him in the future as well!

    And I will never cease to have my heart touched EVERY time I see a photo of Ann and her beloved Zenyatta — that mare loves Ann every bit as Ann loves her and that is just something you don’t see every day in the world of Thoroughbred horse racing between an owner and the horse.

    Can’t wait to see everything unfold as Queen Z progresses with her next foal and Baby Z heads into the next phase of his MOST anticipated life!

    Thanks to everyone involved for allowing US to continue to be involved with our wonderful Zenyatta!

    Hi – wow, what beautiful pictures. So happy to hear that the weaning went well. I like Zen Man – too cute. He is sooooo gorgeous! What a wonderful picture seeing Ann and Jerry Moss there for this special occasion. Cannot wait to see pics and get updates as to Baby Z’s next phase of his life and to watch our Zenyatta with her new foal. Cannot wait to see everyone at the Breeders Cup.

    You can’t imagine how great it is for me to see Zenny and 12Z so close up. They are great looking together. I feel the Moses are so very lucky to have two great looking horses. God bless them both.

    . I can’t believe how much he looks like Zenyatta and if he ends up with her personality, WOW. I will always watch to see how Zenyatta is doing, I just love her so much. I will join the crowd at Santa Anita on Breeders Cup Day To rejoyce Zenyatta’s Breeders Cup win there in 2009. That was unforgetable. Love you Zenyatta anad also Z12 who is looks so much like his MOM.

    Now that baby Z is weaned, how about letting Zenny receive some visits from her fans? While the west coasters got to see her plenty, us on the east coast didn’t. I will always treasure seeing her at Keeneland, and if that is all I ever get, it will remain the biggest thrill of my life. That being said, how very much I would love to visit with her face to face, if only for a few minutes!!

    the pics are absolutely lovely. i think the Queen is the most beautiful horse ever. you can see her gentle spirit in her eyes and just the way she stands. never saw a horse with more ‘presence’ in her demeanor. it’s like she is so conscience of where and who she is.

    Diamond Z (as i call him) is just a carbon of her – dapples, ears and all. cant wait to see how he trains and whether he is a duplicate in all ways!

    please keep the pics coming and would love to see video of him running in the field with his friends.
