Happy Friday!
Alys snapped these early morning pictures around Zenyatta’s paddock this week. As the weather warms up, we’re counting the days until summer is officially here. The horses at Lane’s End have been enjoying the balmy weather. Z Princess is growing up fast, and Ziconic will soon start his basic training and conditioning at Lane’s End.

Just saw the posting that Tasty passed away last year!!! Huh?? What happened? I recall
a photo of her in the paddock posted here last year….she looked good! Bless her beautiful soul :(

Congratulations to Ryan Moore and Sir Michael Stoute top jockey and trainer at Royal Ascot this year.Hugs Sheena.
Max
Sheena. Moore won number 6 on Pique Sous in the Queen Alex stakes. That horse is trained by Willie Mullins. The race is 2 miles, 5 furlongs. Moosie passed on it last year.
Free the Moose. Power up Danny et al.
Reilly, hope that you and Sir have sweet dreams.
Beast, lights out. Tasty, love you.

Wow, that baby girl is getting so big already! Thanks for posting these wonderful pictures.

Dear Max.I do hope the news about Tasty’s passing are only rumours, surely we would have had word from Lane’s End.I well remember Moosie in the Queen Alexandra last year. His friend Gary was very busy at Ascot this year helped about 40 or more horses into the stalls.Ryan was in top form today.Thinking of Burmese it was when she retired Her Majesty took to travelling by coach. She lived to 28yrs and was buried at Windsor,Free the Moose PU Dan and all sick horses plus Reilly.Sheena.
Max
Sheena. The Queen erected a statue to Burmese at Windsor. She adored that horse, a true black beauty. Very elegant.
Ghastly news out of the Queen Alex. You probably know this. Poor Tiger Cliff, the favorite, died of an apparent heart attack at the end of the race. Tom Queally was riding. This is tragic and brings back memories of Thomas Chippingdale. Very hard to take. Makes the victory somehow a little sad. Pique however is a nice gray with a good pedigree. Mullins must be thrilled for his horse, and Moore.
Free the Moose etc. Reilly, Sir and Beast, hope that you are getting ready to hunker down or are already in bed for the night. Tasty, love you. Always will.

Death of Tiger Cliff raises fatalities to three at Royal Ascot
• Favourite in final race at the meeting collapses at finish
• Two horses were also killed on first day of meeting
Chris Cook at Ascot The Observer, Saturday 21 June 2014
For the second consecutive year, the final day’s action here was marred by an equine fatality when Tiger Cliff, ridden by Tom Queally, collapsed shortly after passing the post in fourth place in the final race, the Queen Alexandra. That brought to three the number of horses that have died here this week, following two that broke bones and were euthanised on Tuesday.

Makes me wonder if Tasty may have died during foaling or health issues related to foaling.
Max
BGG. Last date on the Facebook is actually March 13, 2012, prior to the arrival of her first foal. I’m not accepting anything about this. Vive Tasty.

BGG. I’m not confused. I just don’t believe it. The last two entries on pedigree could be inverted. The RIP might be in reference to her unnamed foal. Vive Tasty.

I am with you, Max. That is for the foal?

Dear BGG, Max, Ann, Peggy and Sandy:
I agree that RIP 2013 is when TT’s Unbridled Song colt passed away. I could never find anything on what happened to the poor little soul. Would be so good to have an update on TT. We have to keep checking for foals born next Spring at Lane’s End (if she’s still there) and maybe we will see TT’s Union Rags foal listed. Hope so. Love and Hugs, JB

I just feel like in my heart that Tasty’s still living. I sure hope my feelings are right. Surely we will find out something.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Peggy:
I’m feeling that way too. It’s possible she’s not at Lane’s End anymore and may have been sold, but I pray she is alive and well. Love and Hugs, JB

That was my ERROR, my typo,
You are right–photo is dated 2012
So my premise is flawed.
But, still no answers BGG
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Sandy
When was it last year that you and Debbie saw Tasty in the pasture. I remember you telling us about it., Was it around this time last year?
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Peggy,
Yes it was just this time last year – would have been earlier this past week. The foal she had in 2013 did die, and that’s why she was out with a group of mares and no foals. I think the info on pedigeequery is confusing. I just can’t believe that Lane’s End would have transferred my call to somebody who sounded like a manager if she simply wasn’t there any more. It would be public knowledge if she died, and I would think somebody would have just said so. I guess we’ll find out eventually.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Hey Sandy
I thoughtI remembered what you had said in your email last year. It looks like she must have been OK then for her to be out to pasture. I know were just speculating but sounds like she would be maybe weeks or a month or so away from having the foal that passed. Well, I know were just playing detective here. I agree with you guys the pedigree query is misleading and why would they have transferred your call unless it was someone that was new and just didn’t know. Just trying to think of all angles
We grew to love her we’ve just been wanting to see her.
shirleeinindy
I’m going to give Woodford Racing a call. Again, worst they can say is “No Comment.” They are still listed on the Bloodhorse as Tasty’s owner.

So sad about Tiger Cliff.RIP Beautiful boy.We ask so much of these wonderful creatures in the name of sport.Hugs Sheena.
Max
Sheena. You will recall that Tiger Cliff won the Ebor with Lady Cecil last year before he was transferred to Alan King. Sad news then for Warren Place too. Just read that Pique was supposed to run hurdles with Mullins, but took sick with colic and was off since last September. He missed the entire jump season. Then he runs and wins 2 miles, 5 furlongs, the toughest race at Royal Ascot. Amazing! If Pique can do this over 2 miles, Danny Boy can do one mile.
Free the Moose. Power up Danny! Power up CDA, Chromie and all others who are sick.
Goodnight to Reilly, Sir and The Big Beast. Vive Tasty.

Max
KathyR. Really fine news. Sometimes it just takes a new approach. He is one very handsome looking gray. Never could understand why Black Caviar preferred Saloon.
Hope that your headaches have eased. That is tough on a person. Thought of you when they mentioned Gai Waterhouse at Ascot. How did Australia do overall this year at Ascot?
KathyR
Dear Max:
We dipped out of Ascot with the early injury to Zoustar – rather disappointing, as he had been set really well to cope with the undulating Ascot course. Gai is on her annual buying spree – with the retirement of Fiorente, her Melbourne Cup winner, she’s keen to keep up the supply. This is a matter of some concern to staying breeders who worry about having good stallions unused while owners seek the quick return by buying an already trained horse from either the UK, France or Germany. The worry is that it will result in the demise of the industry for staying types in both Australia and New Zealand. Hoping for positive news on Tasty. Cheers, KathyR

Just a little info. If you go into Lane’s End website, go into boarding and go into cemetary there is a listing of Stallions and Mare’s in the cemetary. There is a horse there as recently passed as last year 2013, Class Kris. Don’t know if this means anything but Tasty Temptation is not listed there.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Concerning the discussion about Tasty–that is very upsetting and a big concern to me as to why the mystery. When stallions die, we always hear about it. Makes me so very sad. Say it isn’t so.
Zenny–love you always. Stay safe and healthy.

KathyR. Sorry that I failed to mention Australia. You are a great supporter of all horses, and our Tasty is one of the best of the grays. Keep the faith going.

June 22 Cherokee Devotional
Habit so dulls the edge of observation that it is easy to pass a tree and never see its beautiful seasons-or be around another person for a lifetime and never see the beauty of the soul. We travel great distances to see something beautiful, and go to great lengths to get a glimpse of a famous person-but our immediate surroundings fade so easily. Familiar faces, a da to la gi, voices, the easy touch of hands-are all taken for granted. With a firm foundation they can be relaxed and confident, but we still need to stay alert to their importance. Even good habits can dull our awareness to things necessary and dear to us.
I know every stream and every wood…I have hunted…and lived like my fathers before me, and, like them, I lived happily.

sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Kathy.I love Ten Bears.I think we all take things for granted until they are lost to us,human nature I suppose.Hope we get some news about Tasty soon ANYONE??.
Marty got done for speeding in Germany last night!!!He’s also going to open a mart in the Birgin Islands a very well-travelled rat!The “bobbleheads” are doing well in this weather Glesni is calling for her sunday dinner though!
Dolly was back yesterday Harry is dealing with a strange cat in their garden and she doesn’t like Klaus the Kitty.I read about a cat called Big Daddy last night a huge tabby couldn’t access his FB sad story was dumped he’s FIV and now has cancer but has found a forever home.He seems to be responding well to chemo.Buddy enjoyed his big day ,lovely pic of the dogs together.I got some chrysans and carnations for my mum,it’s all downhill after the longest day Christmas was mentioned today on the radio!!Have a blessed Sabbath.Hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaForgot Zoe lost one of her friends Rocky.Sad.very sudden I think his mommy is heartbroken.
Max
Sheena. Take at look at this. Pique won the Queen Alex Stakes at Royal Ascot on Saturday, June 21. He ran 2 miles, 5 furlongs. His next race is June 28 in the Northampton Plate. He’s ready to go again. Add to that he travelled back to Ireland last night after the race and will return to England on Tuesday. Makes one wonder about all of the whining about the US Triple Crown being too tough for the horses.

Kathy
Dear Sheena,
I, too, am very distressed about Tasty. We need definitive news one way or the other. Praying she is still with us. I was always a fan. Marty must have been driving awfully fast if he’s banned from driving in Germany. Poor Marty…he looks very repentant in his pic. Birgin Islands…Ha! He is well-traveled, indeed! Glad to hear the bobbleheads are doing well. Hope Monty delivers dinner soon! Glad Dolly has appeared again. Maybe all the cats can eventually become friends. Best wishes for Big Daddy. That’s wonderful that he has a forever home. Loved the pic of Buddy and Boo and all the beautiful balloons. The flowers for your mum sound lovely. Can’t believe they’ve already mentioned Christmas. We are half-way there! Time just goes so incredibly fast. SLOW DOWN!!!Have a blessed Sabbath and a good week. Hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
That was so sad about Zoe’s friend Rocky. I went to Rocky’s page and the mom is just beside herself. Poor woman. Prayers for her.
Hugs, Kathy

Is the Princess going to be a brown horse? Thanks for all the updates. :)
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max.Seems a good time was had by all at Ascot!! We breed them tough in the UK and Ireland and he recovered from colic too.The viewing figures for our channel 4 racing team are shocking. When I think of the “old days” with Julian Wilson and Sir Peter O’Sullevan. These new team are hopeless,I used to enjoy the BBC coverage.Free the Moose.PU Dan and all sick horses plus woofs for Reilly.Tasty please answer Max! Sheena.
Max
Sheena. It must also have something to do with the conditioning. Ireland and the UK have lots of stamina races on the race roster. Pique is going down to 2 miles in his next race. Mullins refers to Pique as “this fellow.” Cool. In another interview with the Irish media, Mullins said that he was very happy for the horse because Pique was very close to death with colic last fall. What a turnaround! I love that photo too. You know who he resembles.
Free the Moose! Power up Danny et al. Woofs to Reilly and carrots for Sir.
Run Voila Ici run. Beast, keep resting. Tasty, staying faithful.

Please “Respond” to us “Tasty Temptation” you’ve got a large following worried about you from a number of Countries.
Max, I know you’ll keep the Faith.
Tasty, just need to hear from you. The Hot LIne Is Open.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
To Tasty, Dear Girl I understand confidentiality issues very well. You don’t have to tell us where you are, who, if your owned by a different person. I don’t have to know that. I understand an owners rights.
But, Tasty, it has just became knowledge to us that it is out there in print that has you listed as deceased. With anyone that you love you just want to know the status of one’s life. In the bible in one of the stories it told of a sheep herder that if one of his sheep went missing he didn’t rest untill he had found all the sheep.
Tasty we just need to know if your still living.
I’m sure one day it will surface of something about you and your foals. Just let us know if your among the living.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Well said, Peggy. When one is missing,it is a concern.

Hi folks,
That Flickr page of mine is not currently listed as “public” which is why people who didn’t get the link directly from me can’t see it. I am in the process of putting together a “public” album of my recent trip to KY and will include last year’s photos of Tasty. I had Patti post them for me last year on her Instagram site (before I knew about Flickr which I am still trying to figure out). Stay tuned :-)

Dear Sandy:
That explains why the photos are not coming up. Thank you so much for trying to make them public and thank you for sending them to me. I know TT is so loved by the Z’sters and Dumplings that they will be happy to see your wonderful photos of her. Thank you again. Love and Hugs, JB
