Happy Tuesday!
Ann and Jerry went to Kentucky to visit Zenyatta, 13Z and Cozmic One last week. Ann sent us a few clips from their time on the farm.

Thanks so much Team Z! Such a treat to see the videos of Beautiful Queen Z and the boys! Love you for this. I am more in love with Zenyatta than ever <3 <3 <3

Cozmic STILL needs to grow into those ears! They are large and I have a feeling he will be too. What a handsome young colt. Wonder how many hands he is?
suew/Va
I just love those fabulous ears…I also think he is going to be a big horse. If only we could move time forward so we could get a glimpse of how he looks as a racer!
Susan
I love his forelock!! If I spelled that right. I thought the first pic was Z…..I love Z and the new foal!!!
candi carter
wow they are all gorgeous love ya and be safe Zenny and all
zfansandy
I just had to come back and watch again after commenting this morning. I caught something that I missed earlier–in the vid “more carrots for Z”, after Z eats carrots and gets her nose rubbed, that right front foot is tapping away. SHE’S STILL DANCIN’. Oh my gosh I am loving it. And walking back to the barn with 13Z, she is so obedient and perks right up to Ann’s voice. Just beautiful. Beautiful.
Btw, I am grateful about the new monitoring for comment approval. I was embarrassed at some things written by haters and worried that Ann and Jerry’s feelings could be hurt and that we could lose the updates. I would die!!! So Mr. and Mrs. Moss, I want to apologize for those ugly people and I did speak up on your and Zenyatta’s behalf. We love the site and appreciate you greatly.
LyndaK
Thank you for the videos. All three look great. Zenyatta has so much personality and her colts seem to have inherited that from her. She just always looks like the happiest horse in the world.
sheena.davies(wales)
dear Peggy will definitely keep Jackson Bend in my prayers hugs Sheena

Thank you so much for the videos of Zenyatta and her boys!
I also agree with fellow posters that holding comments for moderation is wise.
There have been a few that some of us were dismayed to see printed.
Every blog, video, photo of the greatest race mare ever and her offspring are treasured by all of us.
To the Mosses, Team Z, Lane’s End: We’re grateful.

I was remiss yesterday in thanking our Team Z moderator for monitoring the blog to insure that it is kept in the spirit of our Dancing Queen. We very much appreciate your diligence.

I think the new idea is great; this site has been a great uplifting site, like Zenyatta, herself. I would hate to see anyone change that, like another site, that I don’t post on anymore, for that reason; this site is here for us to enjoy Zenyatta and her offspring, thanks to the Mosses and Lane’s End, and other connections to her. We all are so grateful, because you have allowed her into our hearts and lives, and she has taken them over, in typical Zenyatta fashion, we love her so much! I don’t know what we would do without her there, to watch the videos over and over again, to smile with her little antics, and amaze over her beautiful sons; they learn so much from her! Coz is so handsome; a little male carbon copy of her. The little Red Prince, as a few have lovingly, referred to, is unbelievable; he has been from day one, oozing with confidence, so much presence, knowing where is body is at all times, and those muscles; what a grand individual he is! Zenyatta has him in training, and I love the video of them running together, he is staying right up with her; she leans into him a little (like saying this can happen to you during a race) and he just swerves too, never losing stride; he is going to be something to be recon with!!
You, and the Zenyatta’s team, has always taken such good care of her, I pray that you don’t sell her children, that they will be safe with you, and the people you pick to care for them, like you have her; I know there will be many who will jump at the chance to get her royally bred sons, but they need your love and
safe-keeping! I feel Zenyatta is not through in the history books; I think she is going to go down in history as a foundation broodmare, giving good strong race horses, and showing that breeding strength, and taking time with these individuals pays off much better for breeders, owners, the racing industry, and most important, the horse (who gives us so much) instead of breeding for speed at all cost. More fans will come to the races, as they get to know individuals, they will follow them, like they did Zenyatta, and still do, and they will follow her offspring. I think it is great what you are doing, and I believe that it can lead to it happening on a larger scale; what a fitting legacy for Zenyatta and the Mosses!!!! Sorry this is so long, but I wanted you to know how I think a lot of people feel, seeing that this was going to go through the new system. Thank-you, with love, gratitude, and respect. Roberta
Max
Roberta. Always appreciate your comments, very heart felt. I certainly agree that Z is the best and gives joy to all of us.

Dear Roberta:
I think you could be so right about Z being a Foundation Broodmare. Will be so exciting to see her babies grow and train as racers. Love and Hugs, JB

Thank you so much for the update and the wonderful videos!! It always lifts my heart to see Zenyatta and her colts and for Ann to share them with us through her videos makes it seem so special, makes it seem like we have been included in the close bond they share for a while. Thank you from the depths of my heart to Ann & Jerry Moss for being so generous with their wondermare and to all of the Lane’s End Z Team for keeping us in the loop as well as giving Zennyatta such impeccable care. Only the very best is good enough for our Queen.
Sorry I tend to babble and can’t express my emotions very well, but thank you for providing this blog , this site for us to share our feelings for Zenyatta. As far as comments being moderated, that is likely a wise choice. Thank you for giving us these opportunities.
Marsha Baumgartner
Thanks to the Mosses for sharing these gorgeous creatures with us.

Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Just had to come back and look at the wonderful picture and videos again (and I see that I’m not alone in doing that).
Thanks Barbara Wood for the story about Morris. He seems to have the right attitude :-) I’ve heard it said that our friend Hovis also has political aspirations (too bad we can’t vote either place).
Kathy R – good to see you and thanks for the newsy update on racing down under! Will be interesting to hear who the Aussie “first dad” is going to be.
To all of my Dumplings friends who will be getting together at the Hollywood Gold Cup (♞) this weekend – have a super time and take lots of pictures. I know this event will fall into the “bittersweet” category, but enjoy the time together. Safe trips to all (horses and humans). Will be thinking of you ♥♥
Max
Sandy. Is Hovis thinking of being Prime Minister?
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Hmmmm . . . well . . . . I thought that you or Sheena had said as much a while back. It certainly seems like something he might want to do :-)
Max
Sandy. Might have been Sheena? If he runs, as a Clydesdale, he’ll get the Scottish vote. Would love to see Hovis answering in the PM’s question period. Neigh! HRH as a horse lover would likely enjoy his visits as PM to the palace to report on government business.

Just wanted to say thanks and be counted as a grateful follower. Check the blog every day and appreciate all you do to make us feel close to all things Z. So many of us are so happy to be a part of a grand horse story as it unfolds every day. Thanks again.
Harmoni Smith
Cozmic has her looks,13z has her strut. like “oh,yeah. I’m cool” :)
i don’t know about anybody else, but I’m hoping the next foal will be a filly.
and i,for one,am rooting for Coz all the way. i mean,Zenyatta’s first foal by a great grandson of Secretariat and grandson of Seattle Slew and of course we can’t forget Zenyatta herself in the mix,and you’ve got a build-up for this colt to be the greatest thing since Secretariat himself!
hoping to see this guy live up to his build-up,
Harmoni.

Do you all think we will ever solve the mystery of the green tape? Surely it is not something so mundane as repairing a bridle.
Also, it rather looks like Little Red might have inherited mom’s ears.
Keta
Dear Dumplings & Z-sters,
You will not see me posting for several days.
I am sharing this so you will not worry about me during this time off.
In Arizona, we are mourning the loss of the 19 firefighters. This tragedy reached us
on a personal level. My daughter’s friend grew up in that area and went to high school
with several of this crew. There is enormous sadness & grief by our whole community.
Also, this is a difficult time of year for me. Bob, my husband, died on July 4th .
I miss him.
July 4th was my Dad’s birthday. This year would have been his 99th.
So, it is a time of remembrance, reflection, & quiet celebration.
Hugs, Keta

God Bless you Keta. Thanks for letting us know.

Keta,
So sorry for the loss of your husband and dad, what a great hole in your heart it must have left. We certainly understand your need for remembrance and reflection…….our hearts are with you.
Also the whole nation mourns with you and the devastated families of these brave, brave men……..such a tragedy it is………one loss would have been too many, but 19 young men gone is beyond comprehension.
Praying for all of you. love and hugs
Rosemary McCauley
Wishing you well during this holiday, which is particularly difficult for you.
I am in California but I have a lot of family Arizona, and I along with my family are also very saddened by the tragic, tragic death of these brave firefighters.

Sorry – I didn’t mention the above message was in response to Keta’s message.

Keta, I’m glad that you let us know. So sorry that this holiday will be a tough one for you. I understand your pain and sorrow and your need to reflect. I do that every year on November 9th, that’s when my Father passed at a young age of 53. It’s been 23 years but, I always remember him and reflect on that day. I also mourn the loss of the brave men who died such a tragic death in that fire. God bless them, the community and you! Hugs and love in dumplinghood.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Keta–I am so sorry. I lost my mom 7 years ago yesterday. She left us almost at her 94th birthday and left a huge hole in my heart.

Barbara, Iost my mom just last January. She was one month shy of 94. Miss her so much! Feel bad for the families of the Arizona firefighters. New pictures of Zenyatta and her babes helps.

I understand just how you feel. Hugs.

Keta-Good for you. I am sure that your dad appreciates the good thoughts. We should all remember to recall the memories of those who have passed on and keep them near and dear.

Just wanted to say thank you to Ann and Jerry Moss for allowing us access to these wonderful photos and videos of my favorite horse ever, except for my late Peanut. He had just as much personality and heart as Zenyatta but was about half her size. He lived a long and enjoyable life. The neighbors behind us grieved as much as we did when his time came. He was twentyfive.
Have a wonderful 4th of July and be safe.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Hugs, Vicki for your devastating loss.

Vicki-See my post above directed to Keta. It applies to our animal friends as well.

Thank you to the Mosses and Lane’s End for the update on the Queen and her two boys. All three are beautiful and the picture of health and happiness. The only way to describe the three of them is:
Three Generations of Greatness.
Terry Crow
Queen Z and her foals are truly awesome in the best sense of that word. I hate to break the reverent tone of the blog but it is time for another Lone Ranger joke. An outlaw gang under the leadership of Butch Cavendish, the man who ambushed the Ranger’s troop of Texas Rangers and killed all but him, became aware that the Lone Ranger was still alive and was being aided by his faithful Indian companion, Tonto. Figuring to cut the odds, the gang decided to ambush Tonto and do away with him. The gang knew that Tonto came down to the river every morning to water Scour and waited in ambush for him to show up. When Tonto did arrive, the gang took him prisoner and went back to their camp. Discussion were held among the gang members about the best way to get rid of him. “Killing him is too easy,” said Cavendish. “Let’s make sure he suffers before he dies.” Agreeing that this was best, the gang tied Tonto head to foot so tight that he could not move and put a gag in his mouth, securing it with tape. They then proceeded to an outhouse that was about five miles away. Laughing, they stuffed Tonto into the hole and left him there. The Lone Ranger had been frantically searching for Tonto for about three days when he came upon the outhouse. By this time, Tonto had managed to loosen up his gag. Hearing a rider approaching, he yelled. Recognizing his friend’s voice, the Ranger put a rope around the horn of Silver’s saddle and pulled Tonto out of the hole. The Ranger then said “Tonto, I have been searching everywhere for you. It is pure luck that I just happened to come this way. How long have you been down there?” Many moons, Kemo Sabe,” Tonto said.

Eheheh. I get it. :-D

TC. Excellent. Early reviews of that new LR movie say that the horses are great.
Terry Crow
That’s like saying- other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the show? Hope someone on the blogs gives us a review.
Max
TC. So far I have yet to read a review from anyone who liked any of the acting, except that of the horses. The horse playing Silver is handsome. Haven’t heard any details yet about Scout.
Terry Crow
Sounds like the equines are playing the front end of the horse and the humans the back.
Max
TC. Very funny. It sounds like something our favorite Mr. Ed would say. He had all the best lines. Neigh!
