Just have to give another thank you for posting the videos. EVERY time I watch them makes me happy. Happy to see how well mom and boys are doing. THANK YOU
and big high hoof to the Mosses.
Anne from Paramount
Thanks, Ann for these wonderful videos of Our Queen and her heirs (ears?) :-) :-) So wonderful! Thanks also to LE. Ditto what everyone else said. LOVE seeing the family!
We also saw The Lone Ranger and liked it, but it was too long, especially in the middle. But, for much of the time we were LOL, as were others. Mr. Depp looked very much like he was having fun and we loved the very ending of the exchange between L.R. and Tonto. Might have to be of “a certain age” to appreciate it, but it cracked us up. Over-all, much more entertaining than the reviews have indicated.
Sweet dreams, Zenyatta and Sons!

Sue frederick’s link to the statute of Sgt Reckless really brought back memories. I saw her at Pendleton in the early sixties. At the time I remember thinking that she was really old, but in retrospect she was probably about 14 or 15. She was really small, and really sweet. She was usually out with the other horses, and would always come to the fence to be petted. A very special horse. Thank you Sue for bring that to mind.

@Kathy R.–thanks for the link. It seems to me he was taking care of business. The owners of the horse “next up” would have been left stranded. Hugs.

Janet,
Many kind thoughts and mental hugs to you and Sassy this sad morning. Know that your Z friends are thinking of you.

@Anne from Paramount–thanks for the movie review. You have echoed what I have heard from others–too long and slow in places. I’ve also heard it is not for young children (not that we have any–lol!) But we still plan to see it.

Found this wonderful head shot of Eblouissante. Think COZ resembles her somewhat? Same beautiful head, eyes and ears. What a beautiful combination of Z, Bernie and V they both are. Hugs, JB

dear Max Al Kazeem wins the eclipse lot of interference at the end but am sure he will keep the race.Think James Doyle will get a bit of a holiday!!! huge congrats to the british and irish lions winning the series out in earlier today Sorry Kathy think we deserved it after all these years my dad would have been ecstatic!! God rest his soul hugs Sheena
Max
Sheena. Only just read about his win. Al’s doing very well for a horse who was out of action for so long because of a pelvis fracture. He is very tough and determined. Reminds me of Paynter in the courage department. He might go to the Arc, if all goes well for him. He’ll be a real threat in that race. Hope that the Big O is doing his homework.

Carol, Stay strong with the hubby. All the nurses at the hospital tell me that men are the worst patients. Don’t want to stay and don’t want to do what they and the doctors tell them. Hope you husband does better. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Carol
Soo Happy seeing these girls, I know Brass Hat’s probably missing Groupie Doll though. Isn’t he such a good boy keeping her in training. They sure did look happy running around their pasture together.

Dear Carol
So glad hubby is improving
Marty R / Colorado
Dear Carol,
I totally empathize with you. I hope your hubby continues to improve and can stay home. Those hospital visits are no fun and hard on both spouses. I also want to thank you for your continued support through the candle site. It is so appreciated.
I saw where Ebby may be headed to the Shuvee Stakes at Saratoga later this month. John must be pleased with her recent workouts,
Love and prayers for you and your hubby, Marty R

Huge Congratulations to Mike Smith, Customer Base, last night winning the Lucie Manet Stakes. Great Race. Huge Congrats to this Lemon Drop Kid Filly. Also Congrats to Midnight Music coming in 2nd and running (IN Foal) these two were stable mates. This was the first time I had seen a mare running in foal. Sure hope she stays alright. She seemed to be fine.
I almost missed these races last night. Didn’t realize they were on untill late. Love Hollywood Park. Oh its sure going to be Tear time the end of this year.
Wonder if any of our California Dumplings were there.

I saw a race at Saratoga once where one of the mares was in foal. Always makes me nervous to see them race. Love and Hugs, JB
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Judy,
I know I was nervous for Midnight Music. They announced it before she ran that she was In Foal. . Sure hope she’s OK. She sure ran a good race.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Peggy:
I guess it’s not a problem for them to run while in foal; it’s just that racing is so unpredictable and so many risks involved every time they race, it makes me apprehensive. Glad she came through fine. Hugs, JB

oh, there were a couple of us there,…LOL- out in force. Couldn’t go anywhere without seeing a Z dumpling or fan yesterday!

To all who have been sending their prayers and thoughts for my Sassy.
Today was the day and for whatever reason, I could not go ahead with it.
The vet told me it is a difficult decision and I have to be 100 percent sure.
Looking at her this morning she was alert and bright, calm before the storm maybe.
I know many will think I am selfish, but I prayed hard for the right answer.
The only thing I kept hearing was you will know when it is time, you will know..
The vet told me that very thing, you will know and today is not the day.
She told me with the senior dog, it is a day to day or week to week.
Even with the diagnosis, she told me I will know when it is time.
Pati-College Girl
And we can respect that decision. Sassy felt extra good and wasn’t ready to go, so be it. She will tell you, and there is no rush to make a decision. It’s great that she was feeling perky though. It will be a good day for you and she.
Pati-College Girl
Oh my goodness, Team Z technical team, pretty please remove the extra comments. My phone is being rediculous and the extras were a complete accident. My apologies for the mess I have caused.
Pati-College Girl
And we can respect that decision. Sassy felt extra good and wasn’t ready to go, so be it. She will tell you, and there is no rush to make a decision. It’s great that she was feeling perky though. It will be a good day for you and she.
Pati-College Girl

Pati-College Girl
I can respect that decision. Sassy felt extra good, and wasn’t ready to go today, so be it. She will tell you when she’s ready to leave and head on to the big lawn in the sky, abd today wasn’t the day. There is no rush to make such a big and important decision.
It’s great that she was feeling perky. It will be a good day for you and she.
HeidiK Vallejo,Ca (In Awe)
Awww, Janet. Like you said and you’re vet said: You’ll know when the time is right. It’s such a hard decision to make how it is but, Sassy will let you know when her time is up. So happy that she’s feeling perky today. Also, I don’t think you’re being selfish because, it’s obvious that she’s just not ready yet and wants to be with her mom a little bit longer.
I do have a question for you… Are you going to have her cremated and in an urn or are you going to bury her? Our last cat that passed away in my partners arms on the way to the vet was cremated and buried at the pet cemetary (don’t know where it is). So, I told Cindy, next time, I want the ashes in an urn so that we can still be with that family member instead of having it sent somewhere that we don’t know.
Sending hugs to you, you’re hubby and to Sassy!
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Janet:
Your vet is right. Sassy will let you know when it’s time. Hugs, JB
Louise Castello
Janet, I so agree with what you are doing. You will definitely know when it is the right time and if you do it before you are both ready, you will definitely regret it. I feel so much relief for you today. Just enjoy Sassy while you can. She will let you know when the time is right and you will know. Hugs!
shirleeinindy
Blessing and thank God for one more day with your sweet Sassy. My vet said more or less the same thing about my 20 year old cat. As long as they have quality of life it is the right thing to do to keep them with us.

Dear Janet,

Judy, Looks as if Jackson Bend did pretty well in his race. Finishing 3rd to that bunch after a 9 month layoff is something to be proud of. Have not seen anything yet about how he came out of the race but he looked okay.
Did see on the Bloodhorse website that Alpha through a fit before his race.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Shirlee:
I hope Jackson came out of the race well too. I will check out Bloodhorse for the story on Alpha. Hope he’s OK too. Hugs, JB
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Shirlee:
Couldn’t find the Bloodhorse article on Alpha, but the race notes say that he thrashed and banged both sides of the gate and broke through it before the race. The stewards examined him and he appeared to be OK and was allowed to race. I hope he didn’t hurt himself. Hugs, JB
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Sure hope Alpha is OK too.

Dear Carol,
So glad to hear that your husband is home. All the best to both of you. Now get that much needed nap any time you possibly can.

Thanks for this info, Carol. Congrats indeed to the Mosses and John Shirreffs. Mentor Cane is a Moss homebred and he’s a gray. Glad to see him win.
Hope all goes well with the patient. You’re the expert, and the hubby needs to take your orders.

Sheena. Saw that. I was not exactly certain what it meant because I do not know the person. I love it that Moosie is still tweeting. Now he’s a tv critic.
Excited to see photos of Kauto’s outing. He looks fabulous, and he’s always on the lookout for mints. He’s really enjoying being with Laura. Clive Smith seems to have made the right decision, and he gets to visit Kauto because he’s closer.

@ HeidiK, We have chosen in the past to cremate and keep the ashes.
We do not have enough land to bury and there is no way my pet is going to the landfill or an unmarked grave in a pet cemetery which we do not have up here.
It is understood that the ashes of my babies will go with me when I leave this earth, whether I am cremated or buried, which I am leaning more to cremation.
To all who have posted in response today, thank you for the support during this past week. I feel like a lead weight was lifted from me. Whatever time we have left with Sassy will be cherished. My 7 year old granddaughter going on 30, told me that God did not need her yet because we needed her more.
Feeling so blessed today!

Dear Sheena:
I don’t know, but I’m starting to think this terrible heat we’re having is playing havoc somehow causing glitches in the system.
Just heard about the plane crash; two deaths, 130 injured and 60 unaccounted for according to the New York Times. Just tragic. Prayers for all.
