Happy Friday!
We wish all Zenyatta fans a happy Valentine’s Day, and we’re sending extra love to those of you who put a valentine in the mail for Z. She enjoyed each and every one—particularly the peppermints!
What’s better than to celebrate with some new photos of 13Z in the snow and an up close and personal view of Zenyatta eating her peppermints? Thanks Alys!
Enjoy!

March 5 Cherokee Devotional
It is sad when our children have not been able to rely on us to build their self-esteem. The Cherokees call it qa lv quo di. Even those of us that have come a long way have memories that need a loving touch. Parents teach only what they know to teach. But we are not set forever in one direction. We reach an age when we must teach ourselves. We learn to forgive and to understand that when we get to the fork in the road we will know the right way. Why go the wrong way because someone before us did? If our self-esteem has been damaged, feeding it more pity and more ill-treatment is not healing it. Criticism is passed to us the same way blue eyes and dark hair are inherited. But criticism can be changed and replaced with love. This is a decision that changes our lives-and those who follow as well.
Civilized people depend too much on man-made printed pages. I turn to the Great Spirit’s book which is the whole of his creation.

Dear Kathy.Happy Ash Wednesday!Marty had a busy day after the Oscar win and now he’s on twitter! Is there nothing that rat can’t do!I haven’t been able to access Zeus recently,he hasn’t been too well but is improving.Fubu looked a lot brighter yesterday but he refuses to eat wet food which would be a lot easier on his mouth!
Little Daniel grows steadily worse, fluid on his lungs now and keeps on shouting ‘no no no’ in his dreams can only imagine how his parents feel.Thinking of Audrey and hope she is recovering slowly.Hugs to You,Kisses for the Puppy Pack.Sheena
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Happy Ash Wednesday to you! Marty was sure enjoying that ice cream. He’s a rat with very distinguished taste. Zeus, Zoey and Baiey are leprechauns. Looking very cute! Glad for Fubu’s improvement. I’m heartsick about poor little Daniel. His parents are literally going through hell right now. Audrey is improving. She has been able to go out a little bit. I know that’s so important so she doesn’t get cabin fever having to stay in. Have you found Stewart Stanley? He’s a very cut, very funny wire-haired dachshund. Hugs from me, kisses from The Pack.

It looks like Russia will be in the news for awhile so here is another Russian joke. Why did the man who shot at a government limousine in Red Square miss the target? Because citizens who happened to be next to him tried to wrest the gun from him and shouted “Let Me Shoot!”

Darn, Muchie got the 2 post, is high weight and the favorite for the Big Cap. At least the dratted Johnny V doesn’t have a mount, yet.
Terry Crow
Post position 2 is not great but it shouldn’t bother him that much. He has speed to escape being pinned to the rail, should get position. And, Gary Stevens is riding.

So exciting. Thanks to all of their connections for giving this to the fans. Incredible racing spirit, wishing them all safe trips.

Ann-You are correct. Good to see the better horses actually going up against each other. When horses of this caliber meet, it will only prove who is best on that day.

Remember when you do anything, there will be someone that will find fault, no matter what you do. The pleasure of an unhappy person is to find something wrong in others to salve his own discontent. The Cherokees believe that tests sharpen their wit and help them a s qua dv, win or triumph over opposite powers. It would be beneath them to accept criticism as something they must overcome. The Cherokees flick it off like to si, pesky mosquitos. We all try to understand our differences of opinion, to care what effect we cause in other people. But the bane of anyone’s existence is ignorance-our own. We want more than anything to correct what we know is wrong. And what we find wrong in others may be a reflection of our own wrongs.
May the white man and the Indian speak truth to each other today.

Dear Kathy.Have you seen Marty’s portrait? Very cute! He’s got about 59 followers on Twitter not bad for a rat!Valentino had a pawsome 1st birthday no baffy either Only lots of treats and cuddles.Loved the Zoeism today so glad her mom is better.Boo and Buddy look adorable in their carrier bag, think he’ll be hitting II million before long.Great to hear Audrey has been out hope she continues to recover well.
I haven’t been on Daniel’s page yet,he was having seizures yesterday and isn’t taking fluids now. They are planning to fly the flags at half-mast at his funeral and have an honour guard, he still has a tremendous will to live though.Hugs to You,Kisses for the Puppy Pack.Sheena

Dear Sheena,
Marty is probably the only rat out there with his own portrait. Very cute, indeed! Valentino and Zoe are so great. Boo and Buddy ready to go somewhere again. Looking very chic. I’ll keep you posted on Audrey. Thank you for the prayers. I’m so heartbroken about everything little Daniel is going through. I’m so glad they have tributes organized for after he has passed. Prayers for him and his parents. Have a good day. Hugs from me, kisses from The Pack. Kathy

Max
Sheena. I apologize for these questions, but I have to ask. Are you currently in servitude to a feline? And who is this rat who wears couture suits and of whom you and Kathy are so fond? Is he white or a rat of another color?
vicki
Could I have some help with a question regarding pedigree? When I go on True Nicks and find a stallion that is A++ with Zenyatta does that mean he is the perfect choice? Do other qualities carry more weight? I am sure Mr. and Mrs. Moss want the very best match for the Queen but how do they decide?

sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max.No,you needn’t apologize, sadly we are not allowed to keep cats in the block of flats I live now but have had many in my lifetime.A “crazy cat lady”!!The rat Kathy and I love is light in colour and his name is “Marty Mouse” he’s on FB and twitter.Such a cute boy!Have been enjoying the crufts dog show tonight, one of my favourites the Samoyed won the pastoral group.BTW Tom Queally was riding Stand Guard at Southwell today when he created a new all-weather record of 26 wins.Neigh Sheena
Max
Sheena. Cats can charm most people. I prefer the large kind as in panthers or leopards.
I am however personally well acquainted with rats. My brother had one as a pet. Her name was Hortense. She was named after Napoleon’s stepdaughter. Why I do not know. That rat was the center of attention. Sounds like your Marty.
Congrats to Tom. Still no word on Lady Cecil?

Hi Zenyatta and all other Dumplings! We had a great time in Vegas, but my review will have to wait as we have BIG news–some of you may know this by now: Cowtownmary is in the second race Saturday, Big ‘Cap Day!! Woo Hoo!!!! All of these great horses and we will be amongst them—wow! One mile turf, MSW, Maldonado jockey. Don’t know much yet about our competitors, will need to scan the Form tomorrow eve.(it is still Thursday here.) A column in local paper today said this is perhaps the most anticipated Big ‘Cap since 1988 when Ferdinand and Alysheba ran with Alysheba winning. Wowie, what a day, then and now.
It’s been a busy week–we did stay an extra day in Vegas so that was nice. Will try to catch up soon. Go Cowtown!!!!! :-) Crossed hooves to one and all!! :-)

@Max-I don’t know where to post these days, so I will leave this one here. You will probably be able to tell the original origin of this one, but I have reworked it in to a talking horse joke. Two horses, a palomino and a chestnut, were talking to each other in the field. The chestnut said to the palomino, “Which do you think is father away? Florida or the moon?” The palomino turned to the chestnut and said “You dummy. Think about it. Can you see Florida?”
Max
TC. Great joke. These horses are so good. This one is as good as the horse ventriloquist. I’m still laughing about that one. Keep them coming!

Terry, how true! Thanks.
Marshall (NC broad)
Dear Terry C.,
Thanks for these wonderful talking horses! Love’em!
Take care and have a good Sunday!
