Judy: I know! A bunch of serendipity that leads right up to December 26 of last year. Who could have known that a bunch of interesting photographs would lead me there, right? Certainly a life lesson but I need to think about all it taught me a little more. Love & hugs, Abigail

Dear Abigail,
This is a fascinating article, and I became thoroughly engrossed in your account which unravels the mystery. These photos are gems — what a talented photographer Mr. Gray was! All of these bits of information came together with perfect timing for you. Totally amazing when forces in the universe converge, and pieces of the puzzle fall into place.
Another outstanding article, Abigail! Thank you for the New Year’s gift, dear friend.
Happy New Year to you!
Hugs and Love

Marshall: Thank you so much and I’m so pleased that you & Judy B. enjoyed it too. At times, it felt like I was living in a movie, you know what I mean? And what continues to blow me away is exactly as you state it: “…when forces in the universe converge.” It reminds me that the world and our experiences are so much more sometimes than we perceive and it reminds me, too, of Carl Jung who talked about “synchronicity” which he defined as two seemingly unrelated events that come together in significant ways. Jung attributed this to “a greater essence” that kind of knits our universe & ourselves into it. Talk about Time + space being curved….living this was like being blasted by a beautiful & loving boomerang!!!! Sending you my very best for the coming year, my friend. Love & hugs

A lovely video of Frankel and some of his offspring winning. He earned over £13 million in stud fees during his first season.
http://www.facebook.com/frankelwatch/
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Sheena:
Wonderful video. Love the parts of Magnificent Frankel in his paddock. All the babies are beautiful and some of them really have the “Frankel” look.
Nor sure of the stats, but I don’t believe there has been a sire with this many winners in his first crop of offspring. Sir Henry and both Bobbys must be so proud. Thank you for sharing. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
There is someone close to home with better stats. According to Ashford, Uncle Mo has 19 SWs from his first crop and a Classic winner of the KD with Nyquist.
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Thank you for that info on Mo. I was not aware of his first crop success. Good for him and for Frankel too. Wonderful legacies they are creating. Love them both. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
Uncle Mo is a huge success as a sire. His fee has skyrocketed. As you may recall, Mo was always interested in the ladies. He’s now a success, except with Awesome Maria. She was always immune to the Mo charm.
Max
JudyB. You might remember this video of Mo and Awesome Maria. He’s in love. She? Not so much.

I do indeed remember this video; love it. Poor Mo. I guess we don’t have to feel too bad for him anymore. He’s a very successful and proud Papa now.
Maybe Maria might want to reconsider. Love and Hugs, JB

All in the Sherman Racing Stables barn at Los Alamitos Race Course were dreading Jan. 6, when their big horse leaves town for the last time.
California Chrome will depart for Gulfstream Park Friday to run his last race in the Jan. 28 Pegasus World Cup (G1), but his double-wide stall at the front of Art Sherman’s barn won’t be vacant for long.

Check out the video for race 7 at Punchestown on New Years Eve. This winning filly is something wonderful to see. She’s huge and she’s a chestnut. The other horses are desperately trying to win. Not her. She is totally in command over the entire 2 miles, 2 furlongs. She was ridden by her owner, an amateur jockey, who only rides occasionally. Trained by Willie Mullins, this was Redhotfillypeppers’ first run and win on the flat in Ireland. It was Mullins’ 24th win since Christmas. Mullins says that Redhotfillypeppers is a great jumper too. The Mullins army is back.

sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max. Good to see you back here.Mullins has indeed had a fantastic run of winners over the Christmas period.I am waiting to see Annie Power and maybe Faugheen soon.Hope you have had a Happy New Year.
Max
Redhotfillypeppers had a 232 day layoff from her last run before this race. Looks like she’s another Quevega. She doesn’t need any prep races. Redhotfillypeppers and Quevega along with Sir Des Champs share the same father, Robin des Champs. Mullins thinks that accounts for her stamina. Two miles looked like a workout for her. I predict that the Moose will be inviting her to York. She’s his kind of filly. Resembles him too but with a very different attitude to racing.
Happy 2017 to you, too.
sheena.davies(wales)
Oh, the Moose is on his holidays right now.Sophie will be keeping us updated in the New year.I knew about the sire Robin des Champs.Redhotfillypeppers is young and looks to have a great future.
Max
Sheena. Did the Moose go to Ireland for this vacation?
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
My gosh, she made it look like a stroll in the park. She’s gorgeous and I love her name. Love and Hugs, JB
Abigail1849
WOW! What a great filly! I just researched her further and guess that after her lay-off this was just to stretch her legs. I’m sharing it on FB because there are many new jumps fans there who would love to know about her!!! Thanks for this Max, Love & hugs
Ann NC
Thank you, Max.
Exciting, thrilling, she is gorgeous!
Love her name, too. Team Mullins….wow, Happy New Year. Another jumping bean to watch.
Ann NC
Flat jumping bean, haha!
Max
I think that the idea is to go for the jumps as she gets more experience. As to that name, she could be a firecracker in personality. Mullins will have to watch his back.

Spell for Oscietra after debut defeat
Posted by: AAP 2/1/2017
If David Hayes can take a positive out of the debut defeat of Black Caviar’s daughter Oscietra at Flemington it is that he won’t have to push her to run in the rich two-year-old races during the autumn.
Instead the filly, who was beaten into third place in the New Year Plate on Sunday, will head to the paddock for a month and be allowed to develop and grow.
“There’s one good thing about her not winning and that is you’re not tempted by Diamonds and Slippers,” Hayes said.
“She’s bred to be a great three and four-year-old and so we’ll take that view now.”

This is interesting. Might be able to buy these on line as souvenirs?
sheena.davies(wales)
I am wondering who the others might be.I wouldn’t know if they will be online,Acapulco is joining Ballydoyle to race at Ascot this June. She may already be in foal to Galileo by that time.Oh,the Moose would have had a great time in Ireland.Sophie received a beautiful pastel of him for .
Max
I read that Acapulco will be in foal at Ascot if the breeding takes. However mares often run better in the early stages of pregnancy. A few years ago a mare won a race in impressive style at Woodbine while in foal.
Saw that pastel of the Moose. He’s handsome as well as wise. It’s uncanny how much he resembles Redhotfillypeppers, although she’s bigger than him. Size however did not stop him in relation to his admiration for Annie Power.
