    Hope you and Vixana are enjoying some pleasant days free of bad weather. Weather has been very mild here in NC and quite wet. We did have sunshine today, but tomorrow may go into the 70’s again — abnormally warm/hot. If this keeps up, I will have to get the lawnmower out, but the ground is too wet!

    January 25 Cherokee Devotional

    Giving up robs us of drawing up gold from our own depths. Imagine having a well, a very deep well, that is topped off with several feet of tainted water. But deeper down, the water, the a ma’, is clear, and down even farther it is a spring, a spring that bubbles cold and pure through deposits of gold. Should we give up because of what we saw in the beginning? Or would we want to tap the depths and clear away the polluted water and get down to the very best? If it is true that we only know five percent of who and what we are-then, it is possible that we have untapped depths, where our being is pure and free of contamination. Should we give up such a rich experience because of what we have seen on the surface?

    Dear Kathy.The clouds have cleared over here and it’s sunshine all the way but still cold.A very Happy Burn’s night to you.Such disappointing news about Annie’s injury and she will be out the rest of the season.She is a delicate flower.Mullins said she worked well yesterday morning.She will be sorely missed at the Festival.She should visit the Moose he will help her recover!I hear Winx may visit Ascot next year Waller is planning an international campaign for her.There was a discussion on RP FB last night about Arrogate being named best racehorse in the world many thought it should be CC or Winx someone said he should come to Dundalk on a wet Friday night and see how he would cope.Serena and Venus are through to the semis 3 women over the age of 34 are through Federer and Nadal are through in the men’s.

      Why would a glorious monster of a dirt horse like Arrogate want to run at out of the way Dundalk? Baffert has already said that his owner bought Arrogate specifically to run only in the US. He also said that Abdullah’s interest is in winning the Breeders’ Cup Classic again with Arrogate. These Euros must be just out of sorts that the top two race horses are US born dirt horses.

        That’s an Irishman’s point of view from FB they even thought he should take on Douvan!..I know Prince Khalid wanted Arrogate to run in the US.We don’t get out of sorts.We appreciate ALL champions. These are just daft FB opinionsI have watching a tribute to the Fly will his record of 22grade ones ever be beaten?

    As I told Kathy Annie Power has sustained a suspensory injury which rules her out for the rest of the season.There were rumours of retirement but Mullins has reported today he will not be making any hasty decisions.Rawnaq is also injured and will not be making the trip over to Cheltenham in march.Get well soon Annie you will be missed at the FestivalX

      Will be something to see if a duel between he and Chrome develops in the Pegasus. Rooting for CC; but I do love this boy too. Want to see CC win his outgoing race and there will be, hopefully, plenty more races for this Glorious Gray in the future. Love and Hugs, JB

    Sad to hear of the passing of actress Mary Tyler Moore at the age of 80.She was taken off life support last night and died surrounded by friends and her husband of 33yrs Dr Robert Levine.Her only son Richard died from an accidental gunshot wound in 1980.Mary became famous in the 60’s for the “Dick Van Dyke Show and carried on with her own show in the 70’sA diabetic she underwent brain surgery in 2011.RIP

      Mary Tyler Moore racked up scores of fans as Laura Petrie and then as Mary Richards. Many roles in the movies. Such a talented actress whom we will dearly miss. RIP Mary.

      Yes, I heard this news and am very sad. I grew up watching the “Dick Van Dyke Show” and was a big fan of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”. She was a very talented actress with excellent comedic ability, too. I hope she and Ted Knight are enjoying a nice reunion. She is with her son now, also.

      Condolences to her husband and her dear friends. Thanks for the millions of smiles and laughs. Rest in Peace, Mary.

    January 26 Cherokee Devotional

    There are in every life both sunshine people and rainy-day people. There are giving people and there are those who take, but how so few in number are those who understand. To have someone understand why we cry or laugh, why we feel downcast for no apparent reason, is to have a friend. A friend accepts our changes of mood without telling us to snap out of it. They know if we could so easily handle tears we would have done it already. All our loneliness and worry and fear seems to fade in the presence of a friend who never judges but stands alongside with loyalty. “My u na li, take my hand and walk with me until you can go alone.” It gives us what we need to be a friend as well.

    We shall not fail…to nourish your hearts…about the renewal of our amity and the brightening of the Chain of Friendship…

    Dear Kathy.It is hard in these modern times to find true friendship someone who excepts you for the person you are warts and all.I see the Donald has been a teeny bit controversial overnight.Mother Theresa comes bearing gifts a hamper including Bakewell tarts for the First Lady and a Quaich for the Donald.She’s giving a speech in Philadelphia today and she will go to Arlington cemetary while in Washington.I hope you look after our mother while she visits.Maybe she will get to see Mr Fibbs too.
    There were a few worried about Love the Chase but she was fine.A lot of us in the UK thought CC deserved to be the best racehorse in the world but it’s not for us to decide,We are down to the top 5 in the fillies/mares now.I read about Thistlecrack’s sire Kayf Tara today he looks superb for 23 and is ready for the ladies to visit.
    It was bitterly cold out shopping today a raw wind but Cheltenham is good to go for Saturday.I haven’t had much time to visit the furbabies I think Milo has a robot army.and Zoe was talking about that film I have the video and the dog was scared.
    Call me Dave was out in Davos the same time as mother Theresa earning £120,000 an hour for after dinner speeches.i would never waste a tear over any politician.Amal Clooney had a chanel dress on worth £10,000 and she had the nerve to tell us to take in more refugees.Such a thrilling match with Federer getting to the Aussie final beating Stan Wawrinka in 5 setsYES!!!!And Serena will play her sister for the first time in a final since 2009.What ever happened to the young players??

    January 27 Cherokee Devotional

    Habit has its beginning in thought. Whatever becomes second nature to us has first caught on in our thinking-only to operate, in time, without thinking at all. Breaking with deeply ingrained addictions is something else again. Since we were old enough to understand we have been bent to a certain thought, molded to act and react until we follow through habitually. If what we did gave us comfort or made us feel good, we did it again. We have to fight habit with habit, deliberately changing one thought, one action, for another. If we simply try to remove a habit without filling the vacuum, we are opening the door for more and worse to come in. It is harder when we let thought drift back to remember how we were comforted. There is more than one comfort, more than one joy in forming a new habit.

    We bury them from sight from sight forever and plant again the Tree.

      As always, wonderful devotional. I hadn’t really thought about the vacuum being ‘filled’ after trying to get rid of negative thoughts or actions. Am printing today’s devotional and putting it on my computer screen ‘frame’ to remind me. It’s such a waste of time to ‘wallow’ in negativity (and sometimes a bit too ‘comfortable’ while staying there). Thank you again for helping us learn wisdom.     Dear Kathy:I have always been a creature of habit I’m afraid.It’s still cold here that wind yesterday has given me a headache.Mother Theresa has been to Arlington.We call them the “odd couple”.Huw Shakeshaft and someone called Adrian were having a big disagreement about Trump on Rupert’s FB.Nigel(the MP)said he wasn’t getting involved in their fallout but Huw no fallout just a difference of opinion.I like people with strong opinions who can argue but still be friends.
    I have wondered how Theresa manages her diabetes with all the travelling and different time zones.The press conference will be on tonight over here.I hope Larry has advised her.
    The secret serbice leaked some photos of the real President(Fibbs)eating his breakfast I told him considering what other Presidents have got up to No worries.Have you seen they have well over 60,000 “likes” now.I donated £30 for Brutus’statue they have raised nearly £2000 so far.Claire has arranged a get-together on Thursday think 15 are going and 40 are interested.Have seen Dolly in her bridesmaids dress?I told her Pippa Middleton came to mind!Rafa has just won a 5 set thriller to make the men’s final on sunday.It’ll be like the “good old days”Serena said the thrill for her was to see Venus so much better.The Stronach’s are thinking of having a Pegasus turf race too to attract international champions.Poor Hovey if only he stopped scratching his leg it might have a chance to heal properly.I am sure you will enjoy your break from work.Have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXOXO

      Forgot to tell you how I found out about Mr No Ears.I saw a photo of him in my memories and tried to find him on FB.There was a group I came across and I saw the RIP.So I sent a request they had announced on January 11th he was dead.The animal cruelty laws are useless out there.They are still looking after his colony but don’t make their FB public anymore.Such a sad end for a much-loved cat.RIP

    beautyfull Zenny :-) i lil worry about health of horses in pegasus stakes , course look to be more dry hard than soft , my old fashioned wishes to horses , Chromy :-) more think about your health mares :-) and lil foals :-) and fillyes :-) , Chromy :-) breeze with low using of whip on your own speed , Chromy , Semper Fortis , he alternate Ralis , Arrogate , Eragon ( arg ) , Prayer For Relief , War Envoy and Stanford , Sea Raven or Madefromlucky if you will alternate somebody of main horses, dont stumble in gate , keep safe distance to forward hind horse and to horses at left at right , dont breeze near left fence , there are low free space in front of nose of horse , horses rest first row near left fence for hind horses that have no free space in front of their noses , on back stretch breeze in middle of herd at right side , keep quiet mooving in second turn , see how you feel your health and all four your legs , if something is not well with health or legs dont wait very glidely decrease speed , if all is well breeze with low using of whip on your own speed on home stretch , horses after race slowly and very glidely decrease speed , if you will cool with water , cool croup neck and lil lil head , dont drink , only wet soft nose , walk with groom two hours , and then when you will be not hot have bath , slowly drink clean not cold water , eat green light hay apples pears , for some chance eat lil lower amount of oats two days after quick breeze ,, ,, ,, ,,
