      Thank you BGG for the info! I am elated for CC!! And I pray he stays healthy after the Pegasus race. He has raced so much and they have put him to the test for a while now.
      I love him so much. He reminds me of Zenyatta in heart.

      Seems perhaps that Gun Runner’s connections prefer to sit this one out.
      GR’s health, safety and the safety of all the others are paramount.

      Incredible! 14 1/2 inches of rain since 10 December! Mother Nature goes from one extreme to the other — drought to deluge. Good Luck to all affected by the excessive rains.

    Good news on Bloodhorse.com today.
    Keen Ice will retire to Calumet. He will continue to race this year. Glad he will be Home again in Kentucky.
    Suddenbreakingnews is entered in the 7th at Oak Lawn on the 27th. First race in 5 months. Not his ideal distance but he has to start somewhere. Safe trip sweetie.

    Congrats to the magnificent California Chrome for his second HOY! Congrats to the great mare Beholder and the unforgettable filly Songbird for their wins!

        Judy,
        So many of my favs are retiring or have retired. I am thankful that Keen Ice, SBN and Songbird are racing this year. Still not into any of this years 3 year olds.

        I will breathe a sigh of relief when California Chrome steps off the van at Taylor Made! Safe trip to him and all of them.

    Semper Fortis Takes Ralis’ Spot in Pegasus World Cup

    Reddam Racing’s Semper Fortis will run in the $12 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) Jan. 28 in the place of stablemate Ralis, trainer Doug O’Neill said Jan. 22.
    O’Neill said the decision came after the pair worked in company Jan. 21 at Santa Anita Park. Both were credited with six furlongs in 1:11 4/5, but the conditioner said Semper Fortis, a graded stakes-placed Distorted Humor colt, is training better on dirt, so he will get the nod for the 1 1/8-mile Pegasus. Tyler Gaffalione is scheduled to ride.

      Very, very sorry that CC is linked forever to this man. Many thought Coburn was a jerk, but Martin takes the cake. I felt bad for all the others who stood in the background obviously uncomfortable. I will always love CC and only wish the best for his offspring. So sad this horse has to pay the price. I am hoping I can develop amnesia where his primary owner is concerned.

      Thank goodness Chromie can’t read and does not have a TV. How awful for the rest of the team! That man needs an “Off” button! We all know that things turned around for CC after Taylor Made became involved along with Art’s help and wisdom. They put the horse first.

    January 23 Cherokee Devotional

    As a child, I wanted to sing at the supper table. It seemed the logical place to let the hoy of life flow freely-since it was our habit to share happy experiences at mealtime-never grievances. But E li si, Grandmother Essie, expected manners, not singing. The food at our table was not as important as the stories. Some were farfetched yearns so typical of the Cherokee. When we came together, laughter and joyful bantering took my mind off the ever-present greens that I had to close my eyes to eat. Grandmother said greens were a part of making-do, but it seemed to me that I was making do when I sang at the table. Food should never be eaten when the throat is constricted and the spirit aches from hurt. Joy makes the most common food a feast-and it would not surprise me that E li si is sitting at supper in heaven-singing!

    Dear Kathy.Oh,I never had trouble eating my greens even loved cabbage and brussel sprouts!A cold sunny day here.Poor Summer got her paws wet going out yesterday I hear CA is getting fed up with the rain now.Treve is no 9 on the list all my favourite fillies/mares have been named so far except Goldikova and Dawn Run.
    Thinking of daddy today and wondering where 26yrs have gone.Both my brother and sister were stillborn my brother would be 75 now and sister 74 this march.They were called James Anthony and my parents liked Celia for the little girl.She was the image of my mother small and blonde.
    I hope you roll out the Red carpet for mother Theresa on Thursday.I wonder how they will get on.She is typically British very formal.A cabinet meeting was held in Cheshire today.I thought Mr Fibbs would have cancelled Monday and told us to eat doughnuts all day!One of your friends Karen Selzter send a friend request yesterday and I accepted she is friends with Cheryl too.Poor Johanna Konta has to face Serena next Nadal is through to the quarters.At least we have new champions this time.Ray has lost a lot of friends lately.Poor Mango is complaining about the rain 3rd wettest winter since 1972 in NM.Such a beautiful goodnight message from Zoe last night and Duke had a box load of treats delivered to the clinic.Poor Viktor had his car fumigated because of fleas!Hope you have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXOXO

      I like greens, too! Even if it is cold at least you have some sun, too. Lots of cats and dogs hate having their feet get wet! Nikko hates it. I dry him with a towel when I bring him inside. Sugar isn’t as fussy, but she gets dried too! Yes, we are getting water-logged! Treve is a wonderful horse. Fingers crossed that we see Goldikova and Dawn Run on the list! Hugs to your daddy in heaven today. Stillbirths…that would be horrible. Your poor parents! Yes, our red carpet will be rolled out for Mother Theresa.     Arc heroine Zarkava is to visit Sea the Stars this year for the 2nd time.Her colt by the Derby winner tragically died in a training accident,She in now in foal to Siyouni(sp) and has a 2yr old filly by Frankel.Treve,of course,will visit Shalaa this year and her mum Trevise is to visit Galileo.

      Mullins often likes to throw out those ideas to rattle the competition. Unlikely however. Ricci would not want his two prize horses to race against each other. There are plenty of other opportunities for both of them to be winners.

        • It sounds like whoever is in the best position to win is the one who will run in that race. Mullins always enters many names in advance and then decides these things at the last possible minute. Best for the horse and it also drives the opposition crazy.

    January 24 Cherokee Devotional

    Other people have no more power than we do. They may have a knack for making us think they can do anything. A little adjustment down in our minds will stop the thought that we must cope and compete with those who have greater advantages. If we believe anything holds us back, limits our ability, we can know beyond a doubt that more ability resides in us than we will ever have time to hone and develop. When we are doing something we love to do, it comes naturally to mind our own business and to polish our own skills. Love for the right work takes it out of the role of labor and competition and makes it into a work of art. Then, the little competitive self is dissolved into a powerful giant that didn’t realize how much he was growing.

    Dear Kathy.This devotional could be made for us today as the government lost it’s appeal about triggering article 50 in court.Now it will be debated in parliament but the Judges said Mother Theresa doesn’t have to consult the devolved governments and Ms Sturgeon is annoyed.
    It’s milder and cloudier today looks good to go for racing over the weekend.Maybe Willie will wait to see how Faugheen performs before he makes final decisions about the Festival.He has been off a year after all.President Fibbs has had the key of the door he said it’s very nice but they may only use it for bacashuns.He was working hard keeping everyone up to date with the weather so much rain and hail.Our winter has been more on the dry side this year(so far).We had a good crop of berries which the waxwings enjoy.Viktor has a new patient called Honey I won’t go into details suffice to say she was hit by a car but is in good hands now.I still get “your cat” magazine and read about the cats who have lived at the Algonquin hotel since 1923.Mathilda is the present cat and a real diva by the sound of it.She is a ragdoll.I believe John Barrymore lived there at one time.Michael Portillo is back in the US on his train journeys this week.He started in St Louis and ends at the Grand Canyon.There is a massive archway in St Louis and he travelled right to the top I just couldn’t look as I have no head for heights!I get to learn a lot about US history.Zoe hadn’t posted when I visited and I haven’t had much time to visit the rest Carl Hester is coming out to New England in the autumn.Valegro will be off to the Netherlands next week.Hope you have a good day.Keep your doughnuts dry!Avoid the puddles.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXOXOXO

    Arrogate Named 2016 Longines World’s Best Racehorse

    With his impressive victory in the 2016 Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at Santa Anita Park, Arrogate secured the title of 2016 Longines World’s Best Racehorse, just edging California Chrome .
    In winning the Breeders’ Cup Classic, Arrogate earned a 134 rating, just edging California Chrome who notched a 133 for his second-place finish. The world’s top two ranked horses of 2016 are scheduled to meet again Jan. 28 in the Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1) at Gulfstream Park.
