Team Zenyatta headed to Lane’s End for the day and spent some time in the Kentucky rain with Momma Z and her colt. Z even gave some flowers to her human mom! We thought we would share a few of our Mother’s Day moments.

    Thank you for making my Mother’s Day a bit more special. Hope Team Zenyatta will decide to make some of the photos from today available for purchase. What about a Mother’s Day collage poster?

    Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Moss and Team Zenyatta for looking beyond a dollar sign with your Zenyatta, Baby Z12, and all the others. You are a beacon for how these magnificent athletes should be treated. The delight on your faces lets everyone know how much you delight in their company.

    Zenyatta, you have a wonderful taste in flowers! I know your non- fur/hair Mother loved them. I am not surprised at your thoughtfulness. Know the kiss from your son was a treasured gift on your first Mother’s Day!!!!

    I have a question:
    Are both colts teething? The Weezee is chewing on his Mom’s halter, and “Rae’s Al” seems to like the paddock fences. Just wondering. Thanks

      MAYBE, RA’S COLT COULD BE CRIBBING; I THINK THAT IS HOW IT STARTS WITH FENCES.

      I THING BABY ZENYATTA WAS JEALOUS OF ALL THE ATTENTION HIS MOTHER WAS
      GETTING FOR MOTHERS DAY SO HE REARED UP AND TRIED TO PULL ON HER HALTER; THAT IS A VERY GOOD HORSE TRICK; TO PULL ON OTHERS HALTERS; IT IS A DOMINANCE MOVE. HE REALLY IS SOMETHING ELSE.

    Happy Mothers Day to Zenyatta and her connections. If there were any doubts about Zenyatta being a good mother, they were erased the minute she started kissing her newborn foal from head to foot. Zenyatta had a great many teachers as Jerry and Ann, John and Dottie, Mike Smith, Steve, Mario, Carmen, Lanes End and countless others loved Zenyatta and gave her the best of care. I also hope that some day I will have the opportunity of seeing those kind eyes close up. Thank you, Team Zenyatta, for sharing these precious moments. Love Ya, Zenyatta. Love watching your “wild child” run. You certainly do have your hands full.

    Thank you so much for posting these pictures!!!! They really made my day to see Zenny, the Prince, Ann and Jerry. Baby Z has his mother’s ears. Just love them! It gladdens my heart that Ann and Jerry make time to visit her so often. Their love for her is a wonderful thing to see.

    What a wonderful way to celebrate Mothers’ Day! These photos are so precious…Ann sure seems to love all the attention the Queen bestows on her and rightly so. Little Z is enjoying putting a big ole kiss on mom, too. It’s a great life on the fam these days.

    I love this cute little lad. Thank you so much for sharing on this Mother’s Day. I miss being involved with the racing community. We were involved with both Quarter and Thoroughbred racing here in the NW. We actually had a few horses that raced coast to coast. It was such a feeling. It is hard to compare unless you have really felt the excitment you feel when the horse you raised from a baby goes wire to wire. We were very lucky and I am sure that Zenyatta’s new offspring will be quite the winner as well. Thanks again for sharing.

    I watched and posted Liza G Fly’s tribute song in honor of my mother today : she grew up near Hollywood Park in the 1930s and was a friend of Seabiscuit : and of course she would have loved Zenyatta : the big Mama knows how to put on a show !!!
