Zelda hsas sure grown up, and looks like she has already started her New Years Party. Whishing everyone a Happy New Year, and Zenny a safe and easy delivery.
I love the photos! Thank you so much.
Its so fun to see Mario with Zelda. Wouldn’t it be fabulous if she had her Mother’s speed and, of course, those famous dance steps would be fun:)
Congrats to Hard Not To Love, JS, Mike and all connections on your big WIN.
How wonderful.
Way to go sweet girl. Read today she also races with one eye.

Hard Not to Love is partially owned by both Dottie and her son. Congrats to one and all! Mike is so humble. So happy for OB and his connections. Happy New Year! Lindal
Dear Mama Z,
Your jockey, Mike Smith set a new record of winning the most Grade 1 races today ! First he tied Jerry Bailey’s old record and then he beat it ! Mike set the new record while riding Omaha Beach in the Malibu Stakes.
Mike rode in 5 stakes races at Santa Anita today and won 4 of them. The race he didn’t win, he placed 2nd.
Congratulations to Mike & the horses he rode today!
Merry Christmas with love Zenny and to Zellda and your boyz.
Loved all the pictures from John S. as well Alys of Lanes End. Zellda is gorgeous. Good to see Mario again! A beautiful and sad moment watching the touching video of Zprincess. She is forever missed.
Glad I came here to wish all a Merry Christmas!!

I have some very sad news to share with everyone. Our beloved Sheena has passed away. I knew she hadn’t been feeling well and I suggested she should maybe see the doctor. She wrote back to me that the doctor said it was a virus. I am in shock and I know everyone else will be, too. RIP, sweet Sheena. We will never forget you!
I am in total shock and grief. This is such tragic news about such a good friend and a huge loss to our Z family. I am so sorry — devastated. I thank you, Kathy, for letting us know.
Rest in Peace, dear friend. You have left us with broken hearts, and we shall miss you forever. A million tears and a million more.
Oh no dear Kathy,
how this happen, she was that old because to died like that is terrible.
What lost for all of us she was a wonderful lady, I will miss her a lot.
RIP dear friend! Thank you for let us know
I am in sadness and shock Kathy of our friend Sheena. She spent time on fb too and we were friends there as well with hugs and messages sent.
I will truly miss Sheena; such a wonderful soul.
Sally B
Dear Kathy, I just learned today about Sheena. She and I had been corresponding about horses and Ospreys for many years- ever since Zenny’s blog and website began. Can you tell me what happened?? I am devastated!!!! Pls email me at braudrim@aol.com or on this website. Thanks
I just don’t know what to say. I read through all the posts and was feeling so merry and happy and then read of Sheena passing. I don’t post often but always read the posts. Sheena will be terribly missed. RIP Sheena. My thoughts and prayers will be for her and her loved ones. Love Darlene
She loved the jumps and all racers, especially Franklin and Kauto Star. She was a staunch advocate for horses and all animals. Will miss her so much. Love and Hugs, JB
A lovely tribute to a lovely woman. She loved all animals. She is holding her beloved cat, Katie now. She always ended communications with XOXO’s. Such a sweetie.
Just reading these posts now and am in total shock. Thank you, Kathy, for sharing this sad news and Judy for the lovely card. Sheena introduced us all to British racing and was the champion of celebrating anniversaries – both happy and sad. We will miss her terribly.Did Sheena have any family? It’s just so sad.
Sandy
Thank you for this beautiful card — a perfect sentiment and expression of sympathy. How Sheena loved the spirit of horses. There are welcoming nuzzles from Kauto Star, RedRum and all those equine heroes Sheena adored so much. I am sure she is smiling.
Endless thanks, Sheena, for your friendship and for all your interesting informative posts here. You had a positive influence on Z’s blog, and we are forever grateful that you touched our lives. RIP dear friend.
Judy, I just saw this news on FB, and was shocked — I got used to seeing you and Sheena regularly here, saluting each other and “all the Sweeties”. It always made me smile. People we don’t know in any other way, still seem familiar, and affectionately expected and remembered. Sheena had a unique style to her Brit. equine postings, that I thought I would enjoy for many more years. I am sorry for her, you, and all of us, at this loss.
Judy,
All of us are very shaken with the sad news about Sheena. She kept us informed about so much and I always looked forward to her posts. RIP dear Sheena your friends on the Blog will miss you and think of you often. Hope you have now met all those horses you loved who went on before you. Blessings and Peace to her family.
I feel such a loss. Sheena was such a wonderful “blog friend” and always a delight to inform and share such interesting things. I am not feeling well myself and this is not helping. I know that sounds selfish but this blog is such a comfort to me that I feel I have lost another very dear friend. I share in all the others comments and hope her family and friends know how much I appreciated all she contributed to our Z family. Nancy
Nancy,
We all are still feeling the loss of Sheena. I took great pleasure in telling people about the Blog and that a friend who posted was Sheena from Wales.
Hope you are feeling better soon. I don’t know where you live, but here in Indy it is cold and gray and makes winter very hard to get through. And getting older makes it worse. Hang in there girl. The new babies will be arriving soon and before we know it, it will be time to pick a Derby favorite.
I am.so sorry and shocked to learn of Sheena! I felt she was a friend through this board and a real loss to all of us. Life is short and precious. Much sympathy to her family.
To read this sad news, was so shocking. I am so sad. She was a beautiful addition to Zenyatta’s blog and knew so much about the horses. I will miss her immensely.
Rest In Peace dear Sheena and my heart goes out to your family and all your friends.
So very sad to hear this news. My Dear Sheena will miss you and your posts so much.
I have been crying for the last week. About the horrific tragedy with the horses in Peru, and now this. I know Sheena was so saddened about this as well. I heard two sermons in this last week that I think that unknowingly was speaking straight to me. Christmas Eve I was at the Chapel of my mom’s assisted living. Pablo was the Pastor, speaking from Luke, then this Sunday at my regular Church The Pastor was speaking from Luke as well.
He said that this life is most of the time not like a Hallmark Movie with always mostly Happy Endings. In Luke it tells of the little boy baby’s under 2 that were slain. Jesus was taken to another Country to survive. Part of a plan but God is still in charge. I have to remember that.
I feel that Sheena is in the presence of some of her favorite furry friends gone before her. And I know she is smiling. I feel she is in the presence of our dear Karen and Keta, who i sure miss so much.
I do believe there are animals in heaven. I sure believe I will see my Quiet, Holly and others that i love forever. The Spirit of some of the horses and animals in general is something that I just can not describe but its so real. In that stall with me the last time I saw my Quiet in person i know that the good lord was there with us.
One horse i never saw race in person, but saw him a year before he died in person was John Henry. The spirit of that horse, the way he acted, I can not describe. He was in complete control. Just an Aura about him. The next year I was back to visit him again but he passed away the day after I got to Lexington.
In Honor of Sheena, Yep I’m talking horses
My dear friend love Ya dearly
Hope we all meet again one day. We Will
What a heartfelt post! Yes, I believe we will be with our beloved creatures too. Even the unloved will be there for our Lord loves them all so much more than we do.
I loved John Henry, too. I was fortunate enough to see him run. He covered the ground so lightly that it seemed his feet never touched the ground.
Maybe Sheena has even met Zprincess and Z16. Or even John Henry and Forego and the donkey that carried Jesus into Jerusalem. So much we don’t yet know. Maybe the sorrow is only ours and not hers.
I haven’t been on the blog for ages but remember all of you fondly and like to read about Zenyatta, and her youngsters. Sheena and I kept in touch by email and I loved hearing from my friend over the pond.
I was in shock when I saw the news tonight, still sinking in.
Sheena was a kindred spirit in her love of the horses and all animals. She felt their spirit and appreciated them so much. I sent her a Christmas card full of kitties in stockings- it is hard to believe she is gone. I too can see her smiling with Kauto and her favourites and with Katie and her family again. Her big spirit will be felt in heaven.Miss you Sheena, the card was beautiful Judy.
