Had some bad news today. Alex was taking Charlie through his training on jumps and Equitation last Tuesday and after he executed a 3′ jump, he bucked and she fell off. She has a fractured Clavicle and a bone chip in her shoulder. I feel so bad. I will be visiting her tomorrow. She sees an Ortho on the 18th. She’s had falls before, but never with this kind of injury. She will be sidelined for a while; poor baby.
Charlie and Alex have bonded so well and he’s usually into training and enjoying it. Unpredictable redhead. Luckily, she said she still loves him. Love and Hugs, JB
Dear Judy.So sorry to hear about Alex and hope she will recover soon.Reminds me of our jump jockeys.Oh good to hear she still loves him.Give her our love when you see her.Love and hugs.SheenaX
Thanks. I’ll tell her you send your love and healing prayers. Very painful. I’m really upset about it, but unfortunately riding is always risky. The horses can react to something that we’re not even aware of and they are flight animals. I’ll keep you posted on how she’s progressing. Prayers. Love and Hugs, JB
Tomorrow is Z17’s birthday. It’s been such a long time since we’ve heard anything about her. Would love to see a recent photo of her and to know what she will be named and when she will begin her race training.
Praying for Zenyatta and the safe delivery of her foal.
Sorry I missed Jerry Moss’s birthday yesterday. My maiden name was Donna Moss. Hope you enjoyed your day and just celebrated you! You look great for 83.
Anybody know the date Zenyatta is due. Praying for all to be well with her and her foal.
Still on a high about Mike and Justify. Sure wanted Bolt to do better.
I picked it up on twitter like several others from a woman who I follow who is sensible, i.e. not given to circulating rumours. And the entry is indeed on equineline.com. So I wrote to them to find out who sent them this information & they responded that it was Lane’s End.
However, according to other Z Dumplings who see & talk to Dottie, Zenny slipped after her fiirst mating so she was sent back to him. They last saw Dottie @ Karen Gogue’s Memorial Service about 10 days ago and Dottie said all was well with Zenny.
Hi Mods – is it possible to have an update on Zenyatta’s progress? Rumors are swirling. Hopefully all is well and the foal watch will commence soon. The filly’s birthday is today, as well!
A lot of contradictory information is being circulated via social media about Zenyatta and her foal. The Moss’ deserve their privacy and hopefully we will have an update on her condition and the answer to whether she has lost her foal so late in her ter soon. . I’m praying for both of them. Zenyatta means an awful lot to an awful lot of people!
I’m praying too, Lori. As far as I’m concerned information about Zenny is only official when Team Z says it. But I’m not happy with the wait. And I’m pretty amazed that there’s nothing for Z17’s birthday up yet.
Happy, Happy Birthday to Z17 and also to Beholder. I was hoping we would hear today that Z17 has a name and that it was accepted by the Jockey Club.
Z17, I hope that the staff at Lane’s End give you some special treats for your first birthday! If I was there, I would give you the special bran mash I made with treats in it that I used to give to my mare, Pride when she was alive. Of course, I would give some to your very special mom, too.
Momma Z, I pray that all is well with you and your foal to be. Maybe you will become a mom again on Mother’s Day!
Wishing Z17 and Beholder a very Happy Birthday today.I trust all is well with Zenyatta and the foal she carries. As for the comments on social media Zenyatta is a very famous horse and we used to get regular updates so we find the silence strange God bless you Zenyatta and keep you safe.Love and hugs.
I visit the site often, but seldom chime in. Zenyatta hasn’t had the best of luck with her offspring & I pray that the jibberish isn’t true. Often, great race mares don’t make great brood mares, but Zenyatta doesn’t deserve the hand she’s been dealt so far with the loss of two prior foals. Let’s hope & pray that this foal & Zenny get through the delivery process this year with no problems at all. I won’t give in to rumors & am hopeful that the Mosses & Lane’s End will provide an update sooner than later.
Happy Birthday Queen B. I believe all is well with Z and the soon to be new little one. Goodnight. Hope Mendy is back safe in Ireland by now. Love and Hugs, JB, LM and all he Sweeties
Dear Judy.Hope your visit with Alex went well.Hope Z17 had plenty of treats today and we get some news about Zenyatta soon.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
Happy Birthday Z17. Sending love to Zenyatta and her soon to arrive foal until I hear otherwise. I am so happy for Coz and his new life. He is doing so well!
We are all getting to practice patience (I am still perfecting this one).
I have been picturing how beautiful Z17 must now be as she continues to grow.
Happy Birthday to Beholder as well.
My mind is also starting to think about Mike and Justify in the Preakness. He is an amazing horse. Mike is my favorite jockey,
I watched my Zenyatta’s movie again last and some of the past Z baby videos. Praying for a healthy foal (Zenyatta is such a good mother). I am hoping for a mother’s day foal.
Hall of Fame racemare Zenyatta’s run of bad luck as a broodmare continues as, according to Equineline, the mare aborted her pregnancy to the cover of successful sire Into Mischief and thus will not have a foal in 2018.
Since being retired in time for the 2011 breeding season, Zenyatta has had only two foals to survive to racing age thus far, neither a winner on the track. Her first foal, Cozmic One, by Bernardini, went unplaced in five starts. He is now training as a hunter-jumper, aiming for the 2018 Retired Racehorse Project Thoroughbred Makeover. In 2013, Zenyatta produced Ziconic, by leading sire Tapit. He currently sports a racing record of 12-0-2-6; he last raced on Feb. 9, and last had a published work on March 13.
Zenyatta produced a filly by War Front in 2014, and was not bred back for the following season. The filly suffered an injury that proved fatal in a paddock accident later that fall, after she was weaned. Zenyatta delivered a War Front colt in 2016, who aspirated meconium during delivery, and survived only a few days.
Zenyatta delivered a Medaglia d’Oro filly on May 9, 2017 before being bred back to Into Mischief. The filly, now a yearling, has been reported to be in good health. She is boarded at Lane’s End, where Zenyatta also resides.
My heart is breaking for Z and for Ann, Jerry and Lane’s End staff. It’s been reported in The Paulick Report too. I linked the article below. I was hoping with all my heart that it wasn’t true. Now, my hope is shattered. Tears for our Queen and Z18. RIP little one. Oh, how very, very sad. Love and Hugs, JB
Lanes End, Team Z, Ann, Jerry, someone of authority, please give us an official word. I don’t want to believe anything for sure until it comes from you.
Ann, Jerry, & Lanes end team – We are so sorry for your loss. Praying Queen Z is ok. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. RIP baby Z.
As I read the latest news, my heart is breaking for Zenyatta, Ann and Jerry. I know both are devastated as well as Lane’s End. I was hoping and praying the reports were wrong, but with so many agencies reporting the same news it must be true. When the time is right and on their own terms, I am sure the Z nation will be officially informed. Until that time, my prayers are that Zenyatta is healthy and physically well. Big Girl you are so loved by so many! Z18 RIB sweet one.
All of these agencies are basing their assumption on the equineline report, which, admittedly, is usually highly accurate,. But—-mistakes happen! Where are the quotes backing up the story from any member of Team Z? Lane’s End? Until we hear officially from them, I refuse to believe it.
Praying all is well with Zenyatta. She is a champion and loved by so many. I know Ann, Jerry and Team Z are caring for her and will always make sure she is safe and happy. God Bless.
What tremendously heartbreaking news! I had read it on the Paulick Report and could hardly believe it could be true. How can so many things happen to our precious Queen? I truly hope she is alright.
My deepest sympathy to Ann, Jerry and all of Team Z. Also, to all of her fans it is such a blow.
We love you, Zenny girl, and pray you are recovering well.
Donna, my thoughts exactly,. When I read the article last night I was filled with sadness.
To Zenyatta, Ann, Jerry, and Team Z my deepest sympathy goes out to you. I am praying for you all
I know your first concern is for Zenyatta. May she be well.
There is such love and support here for Zenyatta, and all of her babies. She is such a wonderful light in this world.
To those on this website, please keep this a judgement free zone. Let the Mosses and Team Z grieve. I am grateful to the Mosses for sharing Zenyatta and her life with us. They are not obligated to keep this site open. Let’s respect their space, and their need to grieve. Again my thoughts and prayers are with the entire Z family including everyone on this site. We all had such hopes and excitement for Z18. We are all grieving. Let’s be kind to one another.
A deep sadness fills my heart for Zenyatta. She has carried her precious load for months.I pray she has recovered.Thinking of the Staff at Lane’s End too and Team Z.God bless you my darling always.Love and hugs
So sad to hear this. Since several reliable sources have reported it, guess I have to believe it. Please don’t you all get mad at me but I was thinking that if Zenyatta is healthy and producing milk, perhaps she could be a foster mama to a little orphan foal. She loves being a mother and this would maybe help with her grief over the loss of her baby.
So sorry Ann and Jerry and all the team. We will await what you decided to tell us about this.
Thank you for this post. I woke up thinking the same thing that Zenny could be a nurse mare for another foal who has been orphaned and that it would heal her sorrow at the death of her own foal. Who knows what team Z is thinking now. God bless Zenny and all of team Z.

So sorry if it is.

Many thanks Abigail.

Great clarification. Thank you so much for the peace of mind!

So since Dottie said everything is fine with her, and she was sent back to him we should still be getting a Into Mischief foal this year correct?
Teresa
Zenyatta has miscarried????
