    I can not believe it is two years ago since I paced, paced, paced praying for Z and a healthy foal while I was away from home, running to a library to get on a computer, having my BFF calling me to keep me posted. I still have my Z and Coz plushie near my bed. I may be two years older too and my body getting older, but thank goodness I have my memories of these wonder times!!!

        I wasn’t happy with that 2 post and the weight but you can’t take anything away from “The Dude” and WTC. Glad Blingo got up for 3rd. Just hope Muchie is okay and will be back to fight another day. If they send him straight to the farm, it would be fine. He has done so much and brought such joy to his fans. It has been quite a 3 year ride since the Risen Star when I first saw him. Wish now I had not cashed that ticket I had on him in the Derby.

        • shirlee. It’s early days. A fourth in one race is no reason to send Muchie for a rest or to the farm. The Dude has been soundly beaten several times and he has risen again in fine style today to win impressively. These horses are always surprising us. Don’t give up on your Muchie yet. There is always another day and another race.

        • Agree – big congrats to Blingo!!! (as well as The Dude and WTC). I think he may be the real deal!

          Taking nothing away from Game On Dude, Will Take Charge or Blingo; they were all great today. Muchie has been on quite a campaign since the Risen Star in 2008. In 25 starts, he finished out of the money only 4 times. and earned close to 6M. As Max said, he may continue racing or his connections may elect to retire him to stud; either way, he’s one of the best. Hope he came out of the race OK too. Love and Hugs, JB

        • JudyB. Their goal has always been to take him to a Breeders’ Cup win again, and to seek a Horse of the Year title. If the plan stays on track, this loss is only a small set back on Muchie’s way forward Too many horses retire too soon these days and deprive racing of horses who can race at their peak. Muchie is coming into his own and this season may yet be his best. We’ll have to see what his people decide. Kincsem raced 55 times.

          What you say is so true. MMM may just need a little RR; hopefully nothing else is going on with him. He’s had a great season.

          The connections may opt for Stud duty only because early retirement, as you said, seems to be the route taken by many lately for financial reasons or injury. He is one of the few of the Triple Crown Class of 2011 who is still racing. Would be great to see him continue racing safe and sound. Love and Hugs, JB

        • Max-Words of wisdom. Although I am a big MMM fan, I could see that the makeup of the race did not favor any runner except Game on Dude. No need for a rest. In fact, maybe he should have had another start before this one. In addition, the track had a definite speed bias. Just check the fractions of the other races run on Saturday at SA. If horses were sent to the farm after each not so good race, there would not be enough to fill the races. MMM will be back. All this race proved is that GOD was best on this day.

        Ann NC – I noticed the pat on the head Dude received from the outrider too. I agree it was very special. In the HRTV interview after the race, Bob Baffert was very emotional when speaking about the cheers from the fans for his trainee.

    Dear Sweet Cozmic One my class and I sang Happy Birthday to you on Friday. We then ate ice cream Dilly Bars to celebrate. I have your birth announcement poster framed in my living room and I have pictures of you in my house and classroom. Happy Birthday and May God Bless you always.       I was gonna bail out after watching the 8th, but when I saw the Mosses had Protocol in the 9th, I stayed and glag I did — he won going away, very nice! Protocl paid 31.60 to win. Jockey Gryder had a good day.

        • TC. From what I’ve read, Protocol is no one’s pony. He’s more like Big D. Training and riding him must be a challenge. However he’s definitely talented. Hope that he continues to win well.

    Dearest Coz…we were among the thousands who paced the floors in anticipation the night you were born. We, like many others, shed a few tears at the sight of your Ann holding you just minutes after your birth. We heard Zenny squeel of absolute joy when you were nestled in the straw next to her. What an amazing journey you have had so far and we are beyond blessed to be sharing your life. You, our sweet Prince, are destined for greatness just because you are the first born of our Queen. Regardless of your success on the track you will be treasured because of who you are…the Prince of our Hearts. Yes, sweet Coz, you belong to all of us, and we to you, because of the circumstance of your birth. As years pass…we will always remember who you are and what you mean to all of us. We pray you have your mother’s swiftness of foot, soundness of body, intelligence of mind and the sheer determination to be the best you can be.
