A part of success is staying power. What seems to be a remarkable idea on paper may be a colossal failure in practice. This is why we have to be more than what we seem, not worrying about what shows but mustering the power to keep on going when everyone says we cannot. Whether our task is building a house or a business, a bridge or a life, we have to have something to back us up-to keep us going when nothing looks promising. Most losses result from investing ourselves in something that looks good but has no substance. We lose more than we realize by entering into situations thinking that if we don’t like it, we can back out later. Strength in any situation lies in seeing things clearly, faults and all. Then when things get to a hard place we know how to handle ourselves. Staying power is having faith in the little things and being willing to change ourselves.
I claim a right to live on my land, and accord you the privilege to live on yours.

Our beloved Kauto Star has been named as the most popular Cheltenham Gold cup winner in a RRP poll.Winner of 16 grade 1 races 5 King George chases at Kempton his last racecourse appearance was in the 2012 Gold cup.when he was pulled up.I don’t wish to recall his dressage career preferring to treasure his exploits on the racecourse,His old friend and stablemate Denman was 2nd and Dessie 3rd.This was all about the people’s champion and you have to be a certain age to remember Arkle who to this day remains the greatest steeplechaser of all time.Kauto Star died in very tragic circumstances last June 29th.Always loving you sweetheart.Sheena

Thanks Judy. Looks as if our boy is beginning to catch on. As many of us have expressed, just think he needed time to mentally grow into that big body. He does look as if distance would be no trouble at all for him.

Thoreau said he once saw a delicate flower growing two feet high between the horse’s feet and the wagon. He said if the plant had grown one inch higher or one inch to the right or to the left, it could not have survived. This flower had flourished without considering its limitations. Like that flower, we can survive in very tight quarters or difficult situations if we have to. At the same time, we may ignore warnings that would be wise to pay attention to. We go on hoping trouble will miss us or go around us. But it”s important for us to be prepared for trouble that may come our way. Wisdom teaches us not to wait until the roof leaks to mend it. Do it now.
Our God gives us the rain cloud and the sunshine.

Hovis is annoyed with the “woman upstairs” weather has been cold windy and snowy on the east coastHe’s still not talking to mini-mother because of her defection to PONIES.The horror when Dolly even suggested one of the furballs could come and live with them!! Safe trips to all our champion racehorses and their jockeys next week at the greatest festival in the world.Sheena.

Dear Sheena,
Thanks for our Hovis update. Poor boy, he’s been battling some horrific weather, too, on top of everything else. Things can only get better, right? TGIF and happy weekend, everyone. Safe trips for all horses and jockeys.

Happy Belated Birthday dear Coz and Happy Fabulous Friday to all. I am so excited about the impending birth of Zenny’s fourth foal! I hope it is a filly, although our dear Z Princess can never be replaced…Anyone heard when Ziconic will run again? Can’t wait for that!!!!
Linda in NJ
Hi Jeanie!
So great to see your post!!! Here’s another Fabulous Friday cheer from one Z’Dumpling to another!
I am really looking forward to the arrival of Zenny’s 4th foal too. And I’m really hoping she has a filly. She had 2 boys in a row so maybe she’ll have 2 girls now.
I’m thinking John may be getting ready to race Coz next. I just read above that he had a fast workout. He’s probably jealous of Ziconic’s 3rd place win.
Are you planning to go to the track this weekend for the San Felipe. I am hoping Smoky Image wins. A CA breed. Maybe he’ll follow in California Chrome’s shoes.
Take care. I hope others will follow.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Linda
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Jeanie:
Our Shirlee posted above that it was noted on the Forum that ZI may go on the 25th in a 1 1/16 mile race. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Kathy.I had difficulty accessing the blog this morning.Oh,trouble always hits me for 6 never goes around me!Poor Hovis can you imagine a furball moving in.We have a dry forecast not the festival but ground still soft. All the furbabies I have visited are well. The ratties hab been busy bisiting Norff Dakota and Wyoming.Mr Fibbs was traumatised climbing 103 floors in Chicago.I had their newsletter yesterday I can’t wait for Mr Fibbs to become President. The sweet story about the penguin I told you about yesterday was on the BBC news last night. It really is delightful.Have a great Friday.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO

Happy belated birthday darling Coz. Torrential rains and local street flooding kept me home. Sad to say there were some fatalities. More rain expected today. Many lives were endangered trying to rescue people that ignored warning barricades. Does anybody know when Zenny will be put inside to keep her from rolling on the ground?

Hi there everybody!
Something new from THE VAULT. Enjoy!

sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Abigail. This is a wonderful tribute to Bear Witness.I remember I got to know him just before he died,I was so shocked that a regally-bred colt could end up half starved in an auction.I actually went on the Lady’s secret FB and they virtually told me to “shove off”as it was a classy page!!I just asked them why it was left to a stranger to help one of her children.May these 2 girls have a wonderful life in South Dakota so much of our wildlife is suffering from the ever-growing human population and it is sad.BTW I got to know Jim through your FB so thanks.Hugs Sheena
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Abigail,
Thank you for this link and for the lifesaving that you do, too. This is such a noble tribute to Bear Witness. Lovely horses with beautiful names to carry on the memory of sweet “Bear”. What a wonderful refuge for our wild horses.
Hugs and Love
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Abigail:
Thank you for this fine work once again. I’m so sorry that Bear Witness wasn’t able to have a longer, happier life. I am grateful, though, that he knew love in the end.
Thank you too for this great coverage on our Wild Ones. They are so beautiful and so precious. They are National Treasures and should be protected. Love and Hugs, JB

Hi Zenny, Team Z and to all Z’Dumplings!
Cheers to a Fabulous Friday!!!
I hope all if you had a wonderful week, and are ready for a great weekend. I am looking forward to tomorrow, Saturday, watching the San Felipe at Santa Anita. I’m pretty sure it’s a Kentucky Derby prep race. I remember how exciting it was when California Chrome raced. Maybe Smoky Image will follow in his hoof steps. Ha ha.
Zenny of course we are all keeping a very close eye on you. I’m sure it will be anytime now.
Love to all,
-Linda

Dear all:
it is so glad to see Zenny’s boys growing into such beautiful specimens. Coz, you had a great workout recently. I think you are getting the hang of it.
I have felt so fragmented lately with basketball season. All these games!
Zenny, I believe we are now T-18 days and counting now. Try to hang on just a bit longer. I hope the internet doesn’t crash when you deliver your little one. Love you always.
Hugs to all.

Happy Friday Dear Zenyatta,
Z you are always in my heart and gently on my mind everyday. I know you must be about to bust with pride for your boys who are both doing so well. I am just bursting with pride for them both. Coz is getting his head in the game now and Zi seems like an old soul to me who has it all figured out already. I love them both. The pacing has begun for your new foul and I wish you peace, rest and warm sunshine on your back. I love you forever my angel. Have a great weekend everyone.

Happy Fabulous Friday Team Z and fellow Dumplings!!
Zenny, I’m anxiously awaiting the birth of your foal. You’re the best Mom ever and I’m sure you’ll be happy to have another little one by your side. And how cool is it that you’ll be going into the Hall of Fame with Rachel!! I love you big girl. ❤️

Dear Zenny,
Hope you have a lovely weekend! It is quite warm (hot actually) here in NC so if it is warm in Kentucky, please enjoy the sunshine but head to the shade for quiet reflection and dozing. Sweet dreams, always, beautiful girl. Kisses on your soft velvet nose!
Lots of Hugs and Love

Hi CoZ. Sure sounds like you have had a wonderful birthday WEEK, LOL. Isn’t it great when birthdays get extended? Sounds like whatever you did on your big day must have helped… not a bad workout, huh? Have you and Ziconic been comparing notes? Now we await news on your mom. Happy birthday CoZ—have fun and stay focused–yes it is possible to do both—your mom taught you that, right? :-)
Linda in NJ
Hi Anne:
Have fun and stay focused. I’ll say it is hard to do both.
