On Friday, August 12, Zenyatta was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Team Z attended the ceremony at the Fasig-Tipton sales pavilion, and owners Jerry and Ann Moss accepted the award on Zenyatta’s behalf.
We toured the museum and met a number of fans who were in town for the festivities. Fans watched the ceremony live from our “Belles of the Hall” viewing party that was complete with mini horse versions of Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra. View the “Belles of the Hall” recap here.

Dear Judy:Monty and Blue are still at the Dyfi.It was a beautiful evening there and someone posted Blue must be thinking “all this is mine”!A very sad story in the newspaper tonight about a 12 year old big game hunter!!!She is from Utah and posts her kills on her FB.How sick is that? What hope is there for our majestic wildlife with people like her inhabiting this planet.Even well-known hunters have criticised her.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank Bentley and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaXOXO

Guess Blue and Monty are not in any hurry to begin their journey. I have read about this little girl too. Needless killing. Love and Hugs, JB

Don’t complain. Complaining ages us. It also wastes time and gains nothing, not even honest sympathy. Begin to see the light-stop entertaining dark thoughts and worrying about unfairness and fear. Consider the fact that we have everything it takes to change our attitudes. If someone else is disagreeable, let them be, but don’t react to it. We need to be true to ourselves and to the good nature of things and people and circumstances. Stop looking for things that are not right. Stop complaining, stop manipulating, stop saying “poor me.”
Sleep no longer…in false security and delusive hopes.

Dear Kathy. We are well-known in the UK for complaining! But we are good at queuing. The Dyfi are closing on sunday for the winter and LS is shutting down.We will gets news on FB about an ambitious new project and,of course, the nest will be moved. What will Blue have to say?.There will also be renovations to the main nest.Monty slept on the boing perch last night He and Blue are still there. The pair at Rutland are very loving.
I heard about that Jyranna on the press preview last night. How on earth can a child be so happy at shooting a giraffe?she should be interested in pop music and clothes where is her mum ?It disgusted me and I felt sick.Seems her dad loves hunting.I went on her FB and the number of people congratulating her but she has had death threats too.Live by the sword you die by the sword.
My gosh there was trouble at the Notting Hill carnival officers hurt over 400 arrests and a young boy disembowelled. What is the world coming too?
I heard about Gene Wilder’s death as I was going to bed.The ratties were paying tribute to him and going to eat chocolate.Ziggy was naughty over the weekend and Ali grounded he ran into the neighbour’s garden. We have a new series about “Queen Victoria” on this week it clashes with “Poldark” on sunday but I can always watch on plus 1.I am afraid Rufus Sewell is far too handsome to play Lord Melbourne.I pray all goes well for Ray tomorrow Keep me posted,Seven Heavens is about to run at Goodwood.Keeping everything crossed.Have a good day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO.Hurricane Katrina did make landfall in SE Louisiana on august 29th.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Good at queuing! lol It’s good that your new television season has started what with the ospreys leaving and the Dyfi closing. A child shooting big game is pretty troubling. Must be living by her dad’s example from the sound of it. Hadn’t heard about the story out of Notting Hill. How dreadful! Was sad to see that Gene Wilder is gone. He was immensely talented. Wasn’t aware he suffered from Alzheimer’s. RIP, Mr. Wilder. The ratties have the right idea. Chocolate is always a good solution! Ziggy is such a beautiful cat. Just love that beautiful star on his forehead. Ali, stay out of the neighbor’s garden if you know what’s good for you! That’s good you will be able to enjoy both of those series thanks to Plus 1! I remember growing up if there were 2 things you were interested in you had to watch one and then hope to see the other when they did reruns! lol I covet your prayers for Ray. I will indeed keep you posted. Good luck, Seven Heavens! Thanks for clarifying Katrina! I could have sworn it was July. Not sure if you saw that I posted to you yesterday later than usual. Had to go to the store for my aunt. Have a wonderful Tuesday. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko, and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

Dear BGG,
Thanks for posting these links. Congratulations to Mike Smith! He has such a love for Zenyatta also. We’re supposed to get ‘rain’ again today. Rain is a ‘celebration’ in New Mexico. I love our weather ~ lots of sunshine and some rain, but not too much (usually). Baby RR was already roosted last night, when we arrived on our bench to spend a few minutes watching the sky. We heard a bit of baby-bird mumbles about our ‘late’ arrival (it was almost dark and a bit stormy). The bunnies were still all munching seeds, but not for long since the sky was rumbling some. Our neighbors horses were back at the barn (we were relieved to see). They don’t usually stay out on the mesa when the sky is ‘talking’ rain, but occasionally they stay out late to graze. Hope everyone has a good day today. with love, Elizabeth

by Press Release | 08.29.2016 | Paulick Report
Jockey Mike Smith made the most of his trip to Saratoga as he won the Grade 1 King’s Bishop aboard Drefong and followed that win up with an upset in the Grade 1 Travers Stakes aboard Arrogate. That grade 1 double led to him to him being named the Jockeys’ Guild Jockey of the Week award for August 22 – August 28. The award is voted on by a panel of experts for riding accomplishments by members of the Jockeys’ Guild, the organization which represents more than 950 riders in North America.

King Congie saved from Slaughterhouse.
If this has already been talked about on here so sorry, but I am just so Thankful he was found. On Aftercare on Bloodhorse today led me to learning about Congie from Daily Racing Form The article from Bloodhorse and aftercare hits the heart so hard. The statement that your not a horse owner untill after your horse has raced and he’s placed in an afercare program.
I worry so badly about all the beautiful horses that race and you can’t keep track of them. They just seem sometimes to dissappear. They were talking about Micro chiping all race horses in 2017. Think they might have said registered with the jockey club.
So much work needs to be done in this area. Glad they are having meetings on it.
Love them and want them all cared for during races and after racing.
I think i’ld probably go to the ends of the earth to find one.
Thank You Judy Berube very special friend, I know you’ld go to the ends of the earth to help find them too. Thank You for helping me find Leroi’s little girl. With all the tracking thru the Us to Mexico. We at least know where she is.

Arrogate’s Travers victory earns Brisnet.com’s Highest Rating Ever

Arrogate won the $1.25-million Travers Stakes on Saturday August 27, at Saratoga Race Course. In doing so, he not only defeated the top 3-year-olds of 2016 but also all other horses who have raced since January 1, 1990, when Brisnet.com started assigning Speed Ratings to races.

Remember, your words are the measuring cups that catch all the necessary things for good living. You can’t say that something doesn’t count, because every word is tallied on the positive or negative side. In this case, there is no such thing as balancing the negative with the positive-it must be all positive. Sometimes we want so much to say a certain thing that we do not control our tongues, and the bruising effect shows on our lives. We are puzzled about the cause of our trouble, but listen! Listen to your own complaints, your own disbelief. It was Dryden who told us that far more numerous was the herd of such, who think too little and talk too much.
We send our little Indian boys and girls to school, and when they come back talking English they come back swearing. There is no swear word in Indian languages.
-Zitkala Sa, Yankton Sioux
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Kathy.I am afraid I cannot always control my tongue!I like there are no swear words in Indian language. There is so much casual swearing these days and the words have all lost their impact.A lovely day here one of the last for awhile. I hope Monty has heard the forecast for the weekend. He was on the perch with a fish looking everywhere for Tegid earlier.Blue remains keeping him company. No one has left Glaslyn yet not even Mrs G.
You saw my post about the Mexicans I got that from a friend’s page. There is nothing suitable I can say here I’m afraid.I signed a petition.
Mother Theresa held the cabinet meeting at Chequers discussing ‘Brexit’.Larry was discussing the tax bill Apple have got from the EU and said from a country where 1 in 5
children are considered poor Ireland are appealing???I put a few words about Diana on one of her FB’s it’s as if she never existed on the Royal Family FB.The mother and grandmother of future Kings.Only goes to show what they thought of her.
The ratties were enjoying themselves with their staplers. No news of Ripley the cat for ages I pray all is well.Loki looks as beautiful as ever.Zoe had a great day and saw Cooper.Boo continues to lose a fewmore friends what hope is there for us??I will be thinking of Ray and Cheryl this afternoon (CA time). How is your aunt these days ?You said you had been shopping for her I hope all is well.Have a great day.Love and hugs to you, kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
You have to hand it to the native Americans for not having swear words in their languages. I’m appalled at the number of people who think inserting a slew of profanity is the most effective way to communicate! Enjoy the lovely day! Poor Monty, searching for his son. The story of the Mexican man declared dead and then come to find out was just out drinking and begging for money is just unbelievable. As you say, Just leave it at that. Mother Theresa has a lot of challenges ahead. I was glad to see the post about Diana. A total class act. The Royals were totally clueless about her. Haven’t visited the ratties yet. I will check on them after this. I hope Ripley is okay, too. Loved that pic of Loki! Zoe keeps a crazy schedule. Poor little girl must be exhausted come the night. If Boo loses friends we have no hope, indeed! I will let you know when I hear anything new from Cheryl. I picked up water for my aunt. She is doing well, but the water jugs are too heavy for her to manage loading into the car and hauling them in and putting them away back at the house. Have a wonderful day. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Kathy,
I cannot believe the casual public profanity these days. I long for the days when people knew how to express themselves intelligently. I am guilty of using some swear words (not in public places), and they would be considered very mild compared to those you hear in what passes for conversation or comedy these days. Whatever happened to the concept of behavior appropriate to time and place?
I guess I am just a dinosaur, but then, I rather like dinosaurs!
The languages of the native Americans are more highly evolved apparently, and Mr. Dryden was very wise indeed.
Thanks for the devotional.

SEPTEMBER

DULU STINEE’
If we aim at nothing, we can never miss. But it’s important that we aim at something, so set a definite goal no matter how insignificant it appears to be. When that goal has been reached, set another. This brings success and starts a trend. Accomplishing something means progress that whets the appetite: do more and more, reach higher and higher.
Little steps cover great distances. Each one prepares us for bigger strides, and every idea acted upon produces another idea. Even though giant steps seem important, consider how the largest building goes up one brick at a time. The small careful steps-one brick, then another-give it strength and long life. Our confidence also comes in small packages, growing little by little.
We need to aim where it counts, but not so high that we lose sight of where we are going. And remember: take it one small step at a time.
Many proposals have been made for us to adopt your laws…religion…manners…customs. We should be better pleased to behold the good effect. ..in your practices.

Dear Kathy.A slightly autumnal start to september in Wales.Monty is looking to the mountains Africa is calling. They are cherishing the last precious moments with him on the Dyfi and so is Blue by the look of things! All the other ospreys at Rutland and Glaslyn are still at home too.I cleaned behind my fridge/freezer last night that was a great accomplishment for me.One big spider and a lot of floof!
What hope is there for us if Boo continues to lose a few friends.I know it doesn’t seem much when you have 17 million but…..It was a festival where bulls gore horses to death I was talking about yesterday in Mexico and we are meant to be the superior race also children watching and the authorities turn a blind eye.I read about that man who “survived”his cremation too.He had been on a huge bender. The ratties were enjoying snacks in bed last night and Milo was doing science stuffs.
I had no idea Jamie Oliver had named his new baby River Rocket!!Oh,dear what are these children going to think when the grow up!!His other son is Buddy Bear.Zoe was talking about bad weather in the states I think I heard about storms in Hawaii.Kate and Will are busy preparing for their visit to Canada. The Trudeaus have a young family so they should get on well. It’s the 350th anniversary of the Great fire of London tomorrow it took 50yrs to rebuild the city with St Paul’s as it’s crowning glory. It had been a long hot summer and everything was tinder dry.The one good thing was the fire cleansed the city of the plague.Soon the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings.
I am glad everything went well at the doctors for Ray and pray the chemo helps him.I will be thinking of him.Have a lovely day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO

Will always remember the view of London from the dome of St. Paul’s Cathedral. Absolutely stunning!!!!!

Dear Sheena,
I saw an article today in People magazine about Jamie and Jools Oliver’s new arrival. They certainly are obsessed with “different” names. River Rocket Blue goes along with the four others: Poppy Honey Rosie, Daisy Boo Pamela, Petal Blossom Rainbow and Buddy Bear Maurice. Odd, but it isn’t for me to understand! :-)
Have a lovely weekend!
Hugs and Love
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
I’m always mystified at how migration is built into birds’ brains. Truly remarkable! Oh my, cleaning behind the fridge! My hat’s off to you! Boo will have some serious work ahead of him getting back those friends. Easily done, though, when Mom can post about Boo and Buddy on a more regular basis. Yes, I saw that horrible post about the horses being gored after I wrote about the guy on a bender. Was afraid I was going to have nightmares all night long. What a horrific practice. Makes me sick even now. Very cute post of the ratties and their bedtime snacks, also Milo working in conjunction with Flat Milo. What an entertaining Mom they have! River Rocket? Buddy Bear? Neither name is a good idea! We’re all worried about the storm heading for FL. 75 mph winds predicted! I’m sure there will be lots of pics of Kate and Will in Canada. A 350-year anniversary seems so long ago, but 950 years…now that’s history! Ray will go through a lot with the chemo, but I’m so glad he doesn’t have to go through surgery along with it. I will keep you updated. Have a great Friday Eve! Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

Dear Vicki,
So happy to hear from you! Sorry you are having to be shut-in and hope you will be better soon. Sympathy to your brother who is suffering from shingles — it’s an awful, painful affliction to endure. I got my shingles shot a couple of years ago, but thanks for the reminder. Take heed everyone! This is something you DO NOT want to experience, and it is now preventable with the vaccine. Dear Vicki,
I am truly, ‘truly’ sorry about your shingles. I had them for 6 weeks and thought I would go batty. The only ‘good’ thing (if you can call it that) is that when I went back to my doctor after I recovered, I asked him if I could get a vaccination for shingles. He said I didn’t need to, since I had already had a ‘heck’ of a vaccination (he used a bit stronger word than ‘heck’), and said I didn’t need one. Agree with you – if you can get the vaccine, I really recommend you do so. Anyway, Vicki, so glad you’re back!
