On Friday, August 12, Zenyatta was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Team Z attended the ceremony at the Fasig-Tipton sales pavilion, and owners Jerry and Ann Moss accepted the award on Zenyatta’s behalf.
We toured the museum and met a number of fans who were in town for the festivities. Fans watched the ceremony live from our “Belles of the Hall” viewing party that was complete with mini horse versions of Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra. View the “Belles of the Hall” recap here.

The induction video only played for the first hour and stopped right after Rachel Alexandra. I wasn’t able to view the second half which included Zenyatta.

There is more than one video. Keep going. It’s there. Very good speech by Jerry Moss about Zenyatta and her people. Podcast is good too.

Dear Sheena,
This is awful. 15 horses lost in just over 4 weeks at Del Mar — something isn’t right.
Rest in Peace All the Marbles, dear boy. Much too young to leave us.

A big, warm thanks to everybody on Team Z for taking the time and trouble to share these wonderful photos with all of us. Such a treat to see Ann and Jerry and Dottie and John looking so happy….we are all smiling along with you! Thanks, too, for giving us links to the other videos and for putting together the Belles of the Hall party for those of us lucky enough to be in Saratoga that day. Team Z… such terrific people, such fantastic owners.

Amen Dee! Glad you were able to be there. If you wrote about your experience, U missed it. Would love to hear all about it.

Nothing equals the liveliness of a summer morning when the first rays of sunlight sweep a field of wheat ready for harvest. The honey-colored heads bow with the weight of grain and dew. Few of us could miss the peace that comes when the first light breaks through the foliage at the far side of the woods. It beams misty shafts of gold into areas untouched at any other time of day. It passes quickly and leaves the desire to see it again. And so the day begins.
No look of a lover could be sweeter than this deep trusting gaze.

Dear Kathy.Nothing equals a summer morning in Wales with the mist, rain and wind but it IS warmer!!I must turtle-turtle in my sock.Only 3 ospreys left at Rutland now mum,dad and the youngest chick.W7 at Glaslyn or Olga as I prefer to call her looks so fit and well now.Time and nature heal.Monty caught 12 fish sufficient for him and Tegid. They are having a meeting to discuss the nest situation after Monty leaves and to replace the boing perch.I know one young lady who won’t be pleased to find her nest missing next year.Milo is all curled up in his sock and Zoe was remembering Mr Al.It was 3 yrs over the weekend since Sparkle and Homer the cats died and of course Joey’s anniversary on the 29th.It was sad with the number of people drowned over the weekend in the storms but where is their common sense?Allowing a little boy to paddle with waves crashing around him and peeps are still out on the beaches in Cornwall today ignoring the warnings. And that young suicide bomber in Turkey killing over 50 people at a wedding. How low can IS stoop?
Mother Theresa has announced there will be honours for our Olympians. How do you welcome your champions home?I only wanted Valegro’s gold so the other 26 were a huge bonus especially Nick winning the individual gold.
Felix has raised £5000 for the Fairy Brick challenge now she has to run the 5K!!!Loki likes his vet now and has managed to lose some weight. He brought up most of his breakfast this morning though with a huge hairball.Karen has said Hovis’s cuts are healing(no infection)but he will have scars for a while!I shared some pics of mini-mother on her pony. Our autumn programmes are beginning this week sooo excited Poldark is back on Sept 4th.That’s my sunday evenings sorted for a while.I hope your friend is much better.Remember to turtle.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.XOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
I will have to turtle today too whenever I get the chance. It sure seems strange with so few ospreys around. Remembering Mr. Al was so poignant. It always makes us sad to remember those we loved and lost. Very sad those drownings. Where is their common sense, indeed! The bombing at the wedding was just horrible. So heartbreaking…people out living life and then cut down. Our Olympians will probably get a ticker tape parade, also celebrations in their home towns I would think. Probably visit the White House. Congratulations to Felix. That’s wonderful! Good news that Loki likes his vet! Poor Hovis. I’m glad he’s healing but that’s a shame he will have scars. Maybe over time they will heal, too. I hope so! That’s exciting that your new season is starting on TV! Ray is in a lot of pain. The Norco does take the edge off for a while so he’s able to get some rest. He will be seeing an endocrinologist soon. Pray for him when you think of it, also his wife Cheryl. Thank you! I will be turtling. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

Wonderful tribute to Zenyatta by Ann and Jerry. I recently lost my two canine companions and it has made me even more aware of what an important role these animal connections play in our lives. Blessing to the Zenyatta family.

Dear Bobbie,
So sorry about your beloved canines. I know how hard it is to say good-bye and what a tremendous void is left by their absence.
When the time is right, I hope you will find another companion who desperately needs your loving care and affection. Take care and know that we are thinking of you.

Peggy,
How did Night Prowler do? Hope he is safe. Said a little prayer for him.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Shirlee, He finished 6th. He really came running at the end and I was very proud of him. I believe he needed that race. He had not raced since Aug of 2015. He appeared to have come out good. Just always hope he is alright tomorrow. They were talking about Chad Brown today on TVG at what a wonderful trainer he is and that he was taught by the best Bobby Frankel. I am so happy that Night Prowler is trained by him and ridden by Javier. Eases the nerves a little. Night Prowler looked fantastic today.
Thank You so much for asking about him. That’s My Boy.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Thank You so much for the prayer
shirleeinindy
Peggy,
Hope he is okay today. It sounds as if he did well considering that long layoff. Keep us in the loop about him.
Celeste/ Massachusetts
Thank you Team Z for these great pictures of the Induction Ceremony. I was lucky to be there and these pictures surely depict the atmosphere in the room. I was surrounded by many people in the top level of horse racing. They were very happy and proud of themselves, their horses and all the people who helped them get where they are today. It was such an atmosphere of sincerity and humility. Each person who spoke was sincerely proud of his/her accomplishment or the horse’s accomplishment…. being inducted into the Racing Hall of Fame. They all related how appreciative they were to all the connections who worked so hard to help them get to this level. It was so refreshing to be there!
Ann and Jerry, John and Dottie and Kyle and Tyler were so friendly. It was such a thrill to meet them!!! Now I just have to meet the Queen herself, Zenyatta!!!! That would be a dream come true.

Make a point of learning what truth is, for it is what sets you free. Don’t look for truth in all the traditional places, even though it may be there to some degree. You would never pick up bits of shells along a stream and try to fit them together by reason and logic. Reason and logic are of the mind, but truth is of the Spirit. If the spirit is not renewed, it seldom recognizes truth.
Other people cannot give us truth. They can only stir us up to find it for ourselves. We have to receive and perceive and believe-because the time comes when we have to walk by faith and not by sight. Life is really quite simple when we stop believing that money and fame are the essence of truth.
You can’t wake a person who is pretending to be asleep.
