On Friday, August 12, Zenyatta was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Team Z attended the ceremony at the Fasig-Tipton sales pavilion, and owners Jerry and Ann Moss accepted the award on Zenyatta’s behalf.
We toured the museum and met a number of fans who were in town for the festivities. Fans watched the ceremony live from our “Belles of the Hall” viewing party that was complete with mini horse versions of Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra. View the “Belles of the Hall” recap here.

Dear Marshall and Judy,
Marshall, I responded to you above, not sure if you saw it. Judy, thanks for writing back. As I said to Marshall, many kids now behave in ways I never would have dreamed of. I fear for them and for our society in general. Don’t always make it back around to see if anyone wrote back to me. I post the Devotionals very early in the AM! lol
Hugs,

Dear Kathy,
I did see your response on the previous page, and I agree completely with you. There certainly are no statesmen under the Capitol Dome these days or at least none are visible.
And we don’t have any in state government here in NC either.
I am an optimist by nature, but sometimes it is a real struggle to stay positive. Keep trying though. Glad you are feeling better!

I scanned through and realized all the salutes to many of our wonderful racing thoroughbreds who have passed and recently have passed such as Walter White & Chase. Though I may not have followed them all, I honor who they were and truly feel saddened for those who have recently passed.

September 8 Cherokee Devotional
When everything seems too much, the struggle just to make it through the day is all consuming. Trying to have a good attitude seems ridiculous when the need to give up is so inviting. At a time like this, there are only two ways for us to go-one is up and the other is down. If we choose to do nothing, we slowly gravitate downward. But remember the alternative-up.
Choosing to struggle upward may not be a picnic, but overcoming something can be a great satisfaction. We just have to remember not to languish and fade, but to rise robust and determined. When we decide to do it, we will be able to do it-with spiritual help. Remember to say over and over that all things are possible for those who love the Creator.
The Indian’s night promises to be dark.

Dear Kathy:Many times I have felt like giving up but something always keeps me going. It has turned cooler here today much nicer. In fact I dressed for the heat and felt quite cold.I know it’s a day full of memories for you but try and concentrate on Holly’s wonderful life with you and Steve.I was so happy to hear about Ray’s improvement when is the treatment going to begin.I keep them both in my thoughts and prayers every day.Racing from Doncaster today it’s sunny but breezy there. The ground is perfect according to Ryan.Maya has left Manton Bay at about 8.40am yesterday.33(11)spent most of the day with a half eaten fish looking for her. They are a devoted couple when I think how she mated with 28(10) and then 33 fought to get his “girl”All the Glaslyn family are still there and a cheeky raven stole some of their fish.
There was another video of Chico last night he is having round the clock care and has an enormous appetite.Where there is life…
Mango is flying to CA as we speak and a couple wanted to look at the house again. Not the best time really. It’s all going to be so exciting for her.Faceplace have been naughty with the ratties posts.I got an email yesterday saying “Hai dis is Marty”.It was wonderful to see Monet’s Garden at the RoR winning the Veteran’s choice he is 18 now and nearly died from a infection in his hoof about 6yrs ago.We were all praying for him He was such a brave soldier.Zoe looked to have had a pretty special day too and we will hear all about it.Mother Theresa had a working breakfast with Donald Tusk today. He wants us out of Europe ASAP.The “children” will have to move out of the Palace of Westminster for the repairs may take 6yrs.They say it’s falling to pieces!Have a good day Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Yes, we have to keep going no matter what, don’t we? Sounds like we’re at that point weather-wise where we’re going back and forth between summer and fall. Mother nature trying to make up her mind, I guess! Not a day goes by that I don’t think of Holly. Especially today she is in my thoughts. Your kindness was so much appreciated. Thank you! Love you for that. I was thrilled with Ray’s improvement. They are inserting a port surgically today. It will be used in his chemo and also doing lab tests. Chemo probably won’t start until tomorrow because of that. Thank you for continuing to think of and pray for Ray and Cheryl. I know they are both touched by your love and kindness. Safe trips for all the horses and jockeys at Doncaster. Thinking of all the ospreys on their journey. Shame on that raven! He needs to do his own fishing! Poor Chico. I pray he makes it. It’s always a good sign when they want to eat. Yes, I saw the pic of Mango on the plane. Looking forward to her reports from Hollywood! Absolutely a bad time to be showing the house! I got the e-mail from Marty, too! Tried to sign up for their new e-mails but it didn’t work. I’ll try later. Congratulations to Monet’s Garden! That’s wonderful. Zoe is always a joy to read about. I’m glad I’m not having to work Mother Theresa’s schedule! Wow…a 6-year repair. That’s a long time! I hope the “children” won’t be too inconvenienced! I hope you have a good day as well. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Birthday Girl Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

Thanks to .Sheena, Max, Marshall, and everyone else who tried to help: I’ve found the pared down version of the race card (17 or 18 is still a lot of horses, but a whole lot better than 51!). Also found an explanation for many of the numbers and notations on the race card. OR is indeed the “official BHA rating” for the horse, and our Brenda has enlightened me regarding the stone to pound conversion. Our group doesn’t bet any real money on these horses, but the contest is a good way to learn about possible or probable BC contenders, and it’s fun when your pick wins or finishes in the money. Some cappers are having more fun than others, sigh. ?
Max
Ah yes. The BHA. Known to Mad Moose as the beak.

Richard Fahey is to take on Lady Aurelia in the Cheveley Park with Frankel’s daughter Queen Kindly. She is improving physically and mentally and is so easy to train.A natural according to Fahey.Sheena
Max
Good luck to Kindly. If Aurelia is in top form, she’s going to need it.
sheena.davies(wales)
Yes she will but one has to try and have a little confidence!!Bless her.
Max
Aurelia has already beaten colts. In fact she has kicked their butts in a major way on English turf. I don’t think Kindly has done that. But horses always can surprise us.
sheena.davies(wales)
One never can never predict what will happen on the day but we know Aurelia is hot stuff.I am pleased about Al I read your post on previous page.I do miss Moosie and his many encounters with the beak.He was great fun.

Dear Sheena,
Thanks for our Hovis update. Poor boy! I hope they can figure out the offending insect! And then add in having to be photographed to boot. The bright spot is Summer. Too bad she kicked him, though! It’s tough being Hovis…Safe trips to all horses and jockeys. TGIF, everyone.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sheena,
Oh my, poor Hovis! What on earth could be attacking him? Hope they figure it out soon so our boy can concentrate on his new book launch and of course, on the new girl, Summer.
Sheena,
I saw an article about Macchiato being euthanized, but there was no reason given. Just that William Fox-Pit and the owners, the Kiers had decided to retire him 4 years ago and that he went to live with Lucy Jones in retirement. Do you know what happened to lead to his untimely demise at age 18? RIP Macchiato, brave boy.
Hugs and Love

September 9 Cherokee Devotional
The earth is sacred to the Tsalagi, the Cherokee, as it should be to all people. Hardly anyone who walks the earth today realizes how important it is, or how it can produce when it is loved and cared for. Ordinary-appearing ground should be treated the way we want to be treated-with love and care. It should be cherished, not destroyed. When it is cherished and used wisely, it produces. Walk on the earth and sense with the soles of your feet the generations of life and blood that have gone into it. And when your heart races with fear, let this holy ground quiet you with peace and joy and patient endurance. Yield to the great loving power of the Breath-Giver, stand still, and rest.
[Arizona] is my land, my home, my father’s land, to which I now ask to be allowed to return. I want to spend my last days there, and be buried among those mountains. If this could be, I might die in peace.

DearKathy. There is so much destruction in the modern world. No one cherishes the earth anymore and it is all we have.Very sad. Some sunshine after heavy overnight rain and we are expecting gales over the weekend then another little mini heatwave. It’s never dull over here!Mother Theresa showed a lot of leg in her meeting with Tusk yesterday!Naughty girl but then she has always been into her fashion.Princess Anne isn’t very well she has had tests and has cancelled her engagements for next week unusual for her.Reports are it is a”very bad chest infection”.
I felt sorry for those tourists trapped in cable cars above Mont Blanc last night I believe they have been rescued now.Very windy and foggy there.
I pray that Ray will not suffer from too many side-effects from the chemo especially as he is recovering from an infection.Keeping them in my thoughts and prayers always.
33(11)didn’t remain very long after his beloved departed 30(05) has practically covered the western Sahara now and the next time we hear might be home. All the Glaslyn family remain W7 is quite a character spends most of her time screaming for food! There was quite a scrum yesterday for the food.
I had a winner in the 1st race televised a beautiful daughter of Starspangledbanner a massive chestnut filly with 3 white socks. She is called Spangled and trained by Roger Varian.Zoe had a great therapy Thursday seems to know someone is in need of some TLC.They have had loads of offers to rehome Chico it is so hard to watch them dressing his horrific wounds but he is fighting!!!Sacha has gone to the best rehab facilities to help her leg.Felix is very floofy today and Larry held a press conference outside no 10 beat that Palmerston!Mango is having a great time in CA the airport was very busy though. The ratties had interweb problems but Mr Fibbs had a new Ethernet cable and they have a new pea tower..Really great ride by Josie Gordon on Wall of Fire right now.First Mohican was 3rd I think. His one claim to fame was he exercised with the the mighty Frankel.Have a great day.Love and hugs to you, kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Gosh, your weather is all over the map, isn’t it? Mother Theresa and her fashion…funny! Sorry to hear Princess Anne is sick. Hope she recovers soon. Sounds like it could go into pneumonia! Gosh, being trapped in a cable car above Mont Blanc sounds harrowing! I join you in praying Ray will not suffer too much with the upcoming chemo. Poor guy has been through so much already. Thank you for your continuing prayers. Awww…33 and 30 are true lovebirds! I wonder when the Glaslyn family will leave??? Spangled sounds beautiful. Congratulations on your win! Loved hearing of Zoe’s therapy visit yesterday. So touching! I’m glad many have come forward to adopt Chico. God bless him. I pray he recovers and has a wonderful life with a loving and caring forever home! I hope all goes well for Sacha. Felix is lovely. Good for Larry. Press conference…impressive! Have really enjoyed all of Mango’s pics. She’s quite a star! Fibbs’ pea tower is very deluxe! Nothing but the best for him! Congratulations to Josie Gordon and Wall of Fire! Better luck another time, First Mohican. Have a wonderful Friday. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
