Dear fans,
As we make our way to the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, we’re remembering Zenyatta’s incredible career and the memories that were made. Here’s a look back at some of these moments.
Watch the ceremony live at 10:30 am ET at drf.com or racingmuseum.org.
Thank you to the fans who have been there every step of the way.

History being made & being watched at the same time.
Congratulations to the “Belles of the Hall” especially our
beloved Zenyatta.
Followed you every hoof print of the way and what a trip it has been.
Thank you Z and , most important, thank Jerry & Ann Moss and all the folks they gathered who became Team Zenyatta. Each was a part that helped you to be successful.
Gratitude to them also for their generous sharing of you during your racing career and even now.
There has been laughter, joy, heart-stopping finishes, and even loss and pain and grief.
Worth it? You bet. And, love reliving each special moment.

Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful pictures of Zenyatta. I will always love her.

What amazing pictures of the greatest mare on earth Team Z has always shared her life with us and this is such a tremendous honor for all them. Every hand that touches her does it with such love. Of course she is deserving…but taking this walk down memory lane reminds us just how spectacular she was (and is).

Just saw on Victor Espinoza’s schedule that he will be riding Ziconic in Race 4 at Del Mar on the 14th, Maiden Special Weight. I know many are anxious for him to race.
The very best of luck and a safe trip to him and Victor.

Thanks for the info Donna. I just looked at the entries and saw that Zi’s race is a turf race. Kind of surprised me but you never know. Hoping for good things.

Unfortunately, Mike has a mount in the same race! Nothing against Victor but wish Mike was in the saddle.

Team GB have won silver in the dressage at Rio.Valegro made some uncharacteristic errors. We have come to expect perfection from this wonderful twosome but Valegro is flesh and blood like us all and allowed some mistakes.Typical of the Germans to win.Looking forward to the freestyle where Blueberry excelsSheena

Congratulations to Zenyatta and to all of Team Z! Zenyatta’s induction into the Horse Racing Hall of Fame is very exciting and well deserved. I’ve followed horse racing for many, many years and no horse has touched my heart more than Zenyatta. She’s amazing and I’m very thankful that Ann and Jerry still allow us to share Zenyatta’s life. It means the world to me.
I wish Ziconic much good luck on Sunday!
Thanks again Team Z!
Hugs to all,

Emotional Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony Honors

In a Hall of Fame year bringing in two of the most beloved race mares of modern times and one of the sport’s most controversial trainers, it’s no surprise that Friday’s induction ceremony was fraught with emotion.

Hello Everyone!! I am still on cloud nine since returning from Zenyatta’s induction ceremony into the Racing Hall of Fame. It was a fantastic experience to be surrounded by such great people in the horse racing world.
When they played the video of Zenyatta’s races, I had tears streaming down my face. She was so amazing and still is!!
I met Jerry and Ann Moss, John Shireffs and Dottie and Kyle Acebo and Tyler Matson. They were all very generous with their time and they signed my Zenyatta cap for me and posed for pictures with me!!! I mentioned all of us who so appreciate the Zenyatta updates and told them how grateful we are for their efforts to keep us included in Zenyatta’s life. They were so happy to hear about Zenyatta’s fans.
I was so excited when I first met Ann (she is so sweet) and Jerry that my hands were shaking. I told them what an honor it was to meet them and how much I love Zenyatta. It was unreal to actually meet and speak to Zenyatta’s owners. They are so, so nice.
John and Dottie were so nice also. Kyle is so sweet; she and I had a lot of fun talking. Tyler is a nice young man; he was fun to talk to also. What a day!!
As you can imagine, there were many people gathered around trying to talk to them, but they were very kind to me and did not make me feel rushed. The whole team truly cares about Zenyatta’s fans.
I am overwhelmed with excitement, so I don’t know what else to say. If you have any questions, just ask and I will answer you!!!
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Celeste,
So happy to hear that you had such a great time at the induction celebration! How will you ever get to sleep tonight? You are on cloud 9! Getting to meet and talk with the Mosses, the Shirreffs, Kyle and Tyler is something you will never forget — how totally exciting.

A memory that will last a life time!
Was Mike Smith there? I didn’t get to see the live stream
so don’t know who was in the audience.
Sending a HOF hug,

Mike Smith was not there. John Shireffs said that he was not able to make it. I would have loved to have met him too!!!!

Dear Celeste:
Thank you so much for describing your day at the HOF ceremony today. Thank you for letting Team Z know how much we love them and how we appreciate they’re sharing Z and her babies with us. Must have been wonderful to meet all of them. What a thrill for you. Thank you again for sharing with us. Love and Hugs, JB
Celeste_in_TX
How wonderful you were able to see the entire ceremony and to actually meet Zenyatta’s team!! I think I would still be shaking from the excitement of all of that – Wow!! I really do appreciate how you expressed to them how much we all still love our Queen and how very much we appreciate their efforts to share so much of her life with us now. Thank you so much!!!
Anne from Paramount CA
Celeste, I am so happy for you!!! Thanks for this terrific feedback! Bet you won’t forget this day ever!!! Hope you find yourself on Cloud nine for some time. My question: where did you sit? I tried to scan the crowd when the cameras did just to get a feel for it all, so I have a picture of the place in my mind. Enjoy!!
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Anne,
I just read your post to Celeste. Great minds think alike.? I promise I didn’t steal the cloud 9 idea from you — honest! This is a bit like attending an elegant party and finding you are wearing the same dress as the host or some other guest. Embarrassing!!
Hope you can unwind enough to sleep well with lovely dreams of Z.
Hugs and Love
Celeste/ Massachusetts
Anne, I sat in the balcony facing the stage straight on!!! I was in the second row; it was an excellent seat. I became a member of the museum right when they announced the induction ceremony several months ago. They said that tickets would be offered to museum members, so that is how I got a ticket. In early June the museum sent an email to the members offering them a ticket. I rsvp’d right away and was ale to get one. They were gone quickly as you can imagine. The first floor seats were reserved for the inductees and their connections and families and the media. The second floor was for members. It was handled very well by the museum.

Rachel-Zenyatta Rivalry Ends in Dead-Heat
Steve Haskin Hangin’ with Haskin The Blood-Horse 10 August, 2016
It has been called the greatest rivalry that never was — two magnificent fillies, as different as two horses can be, destined to never meet on the racetrack. The rivalry between Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra in reality was not between the horses, but their passionate and often zealous fans, who did everything but take up arms against each other. This was a feud settled by verbal warfare, often rooted in geographical differences. Some might even be upset that Rachel’s name comes first in the above headline, so let me assure you it is strictly alphabetical.

It is such a great read.

Congratulations and thanks to Team Z! Wish I could hug the Queen in person. Can’t wait to see Ziconic race again.
Also, bravo to the grand dressage teams. It baffles me that horses aren’t THE most popular things on the planet.
I don’t get it.
Anyway, at least we can watch on the computer now! Hooray!
