Dear fans,
We are so touched by the flowers and notes left at Zenyatta’s statue during the Breeders’ Cup. The strength and compassion shown by this community never ceases to amaze us.
The 2014 Zenyatta.com Celebration was a huge success, and we can’t wait to share the final results. Auction winners have been notified, and we will be drawing our grand prize and bonus gift bag winners shortly. All winners will be notified tonight. Check your email!
Thank you all so much for taking part this year!

Dear Kathy.A typical dull Welsh day here!Great devotional as always.Poor Mango had to visit the dogster yesterday,a first trip to the new surgery. They all fell in love with her,of course.Marty spilled his milk and had a baff!Shock! Horror! And the massive poop in his litter box!You will have seen Zoe won a Halloween contest and is giving the money to the sanctuary that saved her.Such a kind heart.Did you see that adorable puppy on Joey’s page fallen asleep in his food bowl.It was lovely to see one of Joey’s playtime videos.I haven’t had time to visit the rest shopping day!!!Have a lovely day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
I’m sure Mango was ultra popular at the vet’s office. She is such a dear little dog. Marty getting a bath…that would be a really fun task! He sure has a funny Mommy! So imaginative! Thrilled that Zoe won the Halloween contest. That’s great that she is donating the money to the sanctuary that saved her! Diane really lucked out when she found Zoe! Loved the pic of the puppy in his food bowl. So sweet! Still missing dear Joey. Have a good Friday Eve. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.

Seriously!!! A touching post about a flower tribute and the first comment I see is a personal message about, well, I’m not even going to mention the word. Wouldn’t this be an email you sent to the recipient not a public post on a horse website? I just don’t see the relevance for you posting this here.
Deana Tx
Totally agree. I think it is wonderful fans have bonded but really don’t come to this site to hear about them, continually. It fills an entire page or so. Might I suggest contacting each other on special FB page or on your individual FB accounts? That is how a the majority of Z’s fans communicate.
Cromayne
Please keep post related to Queen Z; this personal message is inappropriate.
LauraJ (Cincinnati, OH)
You must be new here.
The vast majority of posts on this particular blog entry have had to do with the passing of Z Princess–sorrow over her loss, commenting on the flowers, sympathy for the Mosses, and so on.
But yes, the comment thread on every blog entry contans some personal, non-Zenyatta posts. This site has existed for years, literally, and some of the regular posters have been posting for years. They’ve gotten to know each other and have formed friendships. Friendly conversations have a way of straying off topic. They just do. You start with a post about how much Zenny has meant to you, and the next thing you know, you’re talking about your life. And as much as we all love Zenyatta, there’s a limit to how many times you can post a variation on “Zenyatta is so wonderful, I love her!” before it gets redundant.
You are always free to skip any post or subject that fails to interest you. I do it all the time. Or, you can post yourself and leave a comment that you deem is relevant.
As for Facebook, not everyone is on FB. Some simply choose not to, and some have privacy concerns. FB is not for everyone.

Well said, Laura J!

Team Zenyatta:
I was so glad to read this post last night. Glad because it told me that you knew all the love and support you have from people like myself and thousands more.
“…and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make…” (Beatles)
The love you, Team Z, and our Big Girl have made — and make — is like a current in a river or an ocean.
May it continue to return to each of you and to Zenny, Coz, Ziconic and Z Princess always, and especially during this grieving time.
Kathy
Dear Abigail,
Thank you for saying what is in our hearts!
Hugs, Kathy

Thank you for sharing more beautiful words that could have come straight from my heart as well – I do appreciate how you are able to express how so many of us are feeling.
Maggie
No words! just a broken heart for Zenyatta. Terrible loss for all.

Dear Abigail
I also came on last night to see the new blog.I cried at just how beautiful the flowers and tribute is,reflecting the beauty and spirit of our Princess. Then I felt a warmth in my heart at the deep, everlasting love that has come from Zenyatta and our love for her and all her babies-and how it multiplies and reaches out to us and to the world.
Thanks Abigail for expressing our feelings to Team Z so eloquently. I am happy they know how deeply we care and how much we appreciate them.
Hugs,Debbie
ps a few days ago I was in a shop and there was a little silver tiara with a red ribbon attatched. I brought it home for our tree and will find a place for it after to remember the little filly who won our hearts..
Kathy
Dear Debbie,
Omigosh, thank you for mentioning the little silver tiara. You remind me of a crown a friend gave me years ago from the Sweet Potato Queens shop. I put it away and just forgot about it. I will take it out and wear it in Z Princess’s memory.
Abigail_1849
Debbie: Now I’m the one in tears….your message touches my heart. I love that you found a tiara of your own to honour The Princess (caps on the “The” to say that there is only ever one). Sending you hugs, Abigail
Patti
The tiara just got to me last night and today. You ladies have expressed my feelings exactly. Thank you for that. Hugs.
Kathleen
There have been so many beautiful posts here and I just want to once again extend my sympathy to the Mosses and those at Lanes End. She was a gift and touched so many in her short time here. Even those of us who never met her loved her very much, too.
Kathy
I agree with the posts above mentioning that little pink tiara. It got me, too. Perfectly symbolizes Z Princess. I can just picture it in her beautiful curly mane.

Thank you Team Z for always sharing…Tears of joy & Tears of sadness. Peace to all!

Thanks, Ingrid.

Mary Margaret, Thank you; such a beautiful touching tribute to our young sweet zprincess. I know some of my tears are for Ann Moss. I can hardly see through my tears to type. Love you always adorable zprincess; ( looking more like your mamma Z each day.)

I found this lovely poem in Blackbird Singing, an anthology of poems and lyrics by Paul McCartney, and I think it expresses what we all feel for Princess in the week since her passing:
DAWN STAR
You are
the brightest star
in the blue dawn
Venus
above us
between us
we gaze admiringly
like Jupiter

Dear Max.Where are you?THE MOOSE IS BACK!He’s been cleared by the beak to race again.Everyone is thrilled even those that have lost money backing him.Am not sure what race he’ll be in he’s not quite fit enough yet!Annie, look out Moosie will catch you one day!Sheena. The Moose is free.
Max
Sheena. I have been reflecting on the loss of the Princess. Still in shock. This is very hard to take. Would like to wake up from this nightmare, but no chance of that, sadly. I need a DeLorean to deal with the space time continuum. Oh to go back in time and change it all.
I see that the Moose will return as soon as he is fit. It’s about time. The photo of him in the RP is very handsome. Maybe he will see Annie at the track. The Moose might like a chance to race in Ireland where there are many beautiful fillies. Someone else suggested a match race with Battle Group. Race took take hours.
Sad news that the Panther’s jockey has been taken to hospital. He was not riding the Panther at the time so the Panther is okay.
Moose, start exercising.
Ann NC
Karen- The beautiful tiara and peppermints were precious.
All of the flowers were lovely.
Thanks Team Z for sharing the photos.
Miss you sweet Curley Mane and have been kissing many horses this week to help with your loss. You were magical. Pure love! I smile when I think of you napping in the grass and you having to shoo your buddy away.
Love to all.

Ann, your post has me crying again. I love that video of Z Princess.
Like all of you, I’m having a very difficult time and still grieving the loss of our little Curly Mane. The shock has worn off, but the sadness continues in waves. Love and Hugs to all of you, JB

Yes Judy, the reality of “never seeing her run again” feels like a shock, hard to believe, hard to really accept, given the sadness and the hope that was.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
My Dear Vicki B:
Yes, so difficult to accept. I know we’re all so proud of Z and her babies and we believe they are the most beautiful foals ever, and Z Princess, like her brothers, was just extraordinarily stunning. Really special. Love and Hugs, JB
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
So many beautiful and touching posts here. I started to write replies and realized that I will never catch up and many of them are from yesterday so may not be viewed again. It is heart-warming to read the beautiful words of not only our resident eloquent writers such as Cynthia H, Elizabeth, and Abigail, but also from those whose names I have never seen before. Our community seems to have grown in our time of grief, and I hope those who have posted for the first time (or fort he first time in quite a while) will stay with us as we move forward to create new memories as well as continue to remember our Princess.
Kathy
Taking a break for awhile, everyone. I’ll be back later.
melinda
Love these beautiful posts and the warm wishes. I tattooed Zenyatta on my leg a few years back and I still get excited talking about the Queen when people ask. As for the princess it is heartbreaking…but something SOMETHING good will come of this…..I know it in my heart. We don’t know how to understand what happened or why but God or his creation has ever let me down. You wait and see

Dear Abigail.I left you a post about the return of “Hinterland” on the last page of previous blog.Hugs Sheena.

Dear Abigail,
Hugs back and thanks for your words,as always.
Z Princess will forever be The Princess, you are so right.
There will never be another like her and she will be forever cherished.
Dear Kathy
I am glad you remembered the brooch and happy it reminds you of Z Princess.
Thanks to Karen and friends for the lovely tirara memorial and to everyone for such a loving tribute of cards and beautiful flowers under Zenny’s statue.
Love, Debbie

Dear Max.I often wish I could go back in time and changes things but I suppose I’m a realist. We all have to move on but still remember the PrinZess’ happy life. She was only lent to us for a short time and we have to accept that.It is a cruel world at times and Zenyatta was untouched by sadness until now.We still have her 2 wonderful sons and always the hope of more little ones in the future.
Moosie’s twitter followers have risen after the announcement well over 4,000 now.I would love to see him race against Battlegroup that is if one of them managed to start,There’s been a pile-up at Wolverhampton Paul Hanagan has a broken collar bone 5 horses involved.Hopefully they are alright.AP is off for 2 weeks.I think age is catching up with himTakes longer for injuries to heal. The Moose is Free! unbelievable!!Sheena.
Max
Sheena. I’m just not ready for reality and moving on as far as the Princess is concerned. I tried that with the Breeders Cup and it has not worked out so well. I intend to continue to grieve for the Princess in my own way. That may call for some time thinking on my own. Don’t be surprised if I’m gone for awhile. Thinking of Tasty too and the other horses who have left us too soon. Worried about Danny’s hoof. Always hope only for the best for Zenyatta, her sons and her peeps. Comfort to them in these hard times.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Max:
As Sheena said, will miss you too. Just overwhelming sadness at the loss of little Curly Mane. Love and Hugs, JB

To Dear Max, and all the Zenyatta family who are in such pain
Grieving hurts so much, but it’s an important way of healing: like the wild ones who are in pain and go to a secret place to lick their wounds and regain strength. Don’t be afraid to take all the time in the world, but know the Family is always here to give you love, understanding and a shoulder to lean on. Love and hugs, KathyR

Finally was able to watch your video. Wonderful tribute to her. Thank you.
Debbie S.
Dear Ashton
The tribute you made for Z Princess is beautiful and much appreciated.
Dear Abigail
It did my heart good to see Zenyatta dance again. She LOVES her fans and I am happy that some lucky ones will be seeing her soon.
She would love a visit from Team Z, hope that may happen for her. Mario,Steve and John and Dottie as well as the Mosses were such a big part of her life.
Thanks for the video of our Dancing Queen!! I am still smiling.
Hugs,Debbie.
ps.I just love the pony that accompanied Z on race day,he just did his job so well no matter what was going on with Z-and it was a lot!!! Whether she was going sideways or just doing her high steps he looked straight ahead and was such a reliable companion.
Debbie S.
ps Thanks to Ashton for carrying on your Mom’s work and to Kari for the beautiful legacy of videos of Zenyatta. Hugs,Debbie
