Happy Friday!
Mario Espinoza, who was Zenyatta’s groom throughout her racing career, was recently featured in TVG’s “Good for Racing” segment. It’s a must-see for Zenyatta fans!
We’re so grateful for Mario and the role he played in Zenyatta’s life before retirement.
Enjoy!

June 25 Cherokee Devotional
Every morning, liquid gold slips under the trees and pours down the slopes to puddle against the purple locusts. Shafts of sunlight caught in crystal dew light each blade of grass and splash color against the trunk of every tree.
The Sioux told their white invaders that they were digging in their Black Hills for gold to get rich-but the Sioux were rich by simply watching the Black Hills. And so it is with the morning sun. It brings a wealth that no material thing could give. Joy is gold and peace of mind cannot be evaluated. These things draw long-term interest.
I am grateful the Creator made me an Indian, because it is natural for a Cherokee to pray and believe in the supernatural.

Dear Kathy.Such a beautiful devotional today.I had searched for the petition last night thank goodness Zoe posted the link so I have just signed.Loved the trailer to the film “Max” looks to be very good.Thank goodness Angel is better. We had some good news from Edinburgh Zoo Tian-Tian the panda may be pregnant!!!
Exciting times for the Dyfi they have been short-listed for .this years National Lottery awards they need votes though. The link is on their FB.Glesni is leaving the bobs more often now. They’ll be outgrowing their nest soon!We are expecting a mini-heatwave next week it’s very hot in Spain temps 111F so some may blow our way!Judy has had a rental car while her truck is repaired and it wasn’t a corvette!!Too warm for the dogs to go out and they get a lot of storms this time of year. The ratties are on the road with their bikes!!!Wimbley has stayed home with mum .Thanks for the beautiful pic on my timeline.Am late shopping day!Hope you have a great Friday eve.Love and hugs to you, kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Yes, I saw you were able to sign that petition. I’m so glad! That guy needs to pay for what he did. Sadly it won’t bring precious Mason back, but there is some comfort in there having been consequences. I want to see “Max,” too. Zoe would like to see it…they could dress her up in one of her dresses and if they wrapped her up just right the movie people would think she’s a baby! lol Wonderful news that little Angel Rose is improved. Congratulations to Tian-Tian! I’ll try voting for the Dyfi. I always feel sorry for the bobs when their parents start leaving them more and more. It must be very bewildering for them. I hope you’ll be able to stay cool enough. Get one of those spritzers like people use at the beach. I saw the rental car. At least it was red! lol Haven’t visited the ratties yet. Will do so next. You’re welcome for the pic! Have fun at the store. Have a lovely day! Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

@Judy-My comment under BGG was meant for you. Not that I don’t like BGG, you are something special. As for being close to Z, the closest I ever came was during her final retirement party at Hollywood Park. She was paraded in the walking ring several times and fans were invited to get up close and personal. Wish you all could have been there.

I am sure glad Coz and Taco (Jess’s Dream) can’t read. Lots of “put downs” for both of them on various facebook pages. People need to realize that when you have a TREASURE, you handle it very very carefully. They both will hit the track when their teams feel they are ready. So happy that all the comments here on the blog are positive about our First Born Prince.

Perhaps some of you horse people can help me. Texas Red is listed as a bay but as the name implies and as well as his pictures, he looks red. Not chestnut. Is this what they mean by a Blood Bay?
Donna Z
Shirleeinindy,
In reply to your question, a bay horse has a black mane, tail & lower legs, with the main body color anywhere from red to brown. A blood bay is a red horse with the mane, tail & lower legs being black. They can have white socks or stockings, too, but the black needs to be there as well. Chestnuts & sorrels do not have the black markings. I hope this helps.
shirleeinindy
Judy B and Donna,
Thanks for the explanations of the bay colors. In some pictures TR looks more of a golden red and in others not very red at all. He does have the beautiful black mane and a nice long black tail! He is a beauty and looks more like Afleet Alex than Materiality does. Don’t think he, or any horse, could have beaten American Pharoah but it would have been interesting to see them go against each other. Could happen later on this summer or at the BC. If Red is as talented as his father, he will make his own legacy.

Dear Shirlee:
You’re so welcome. Yes, will be wonderful to see TR back in form. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Shirlee and Donna Z:
Donna, good explanation of Bays and Blood Red Bays.
Shirlee, I think Texas Red may be a Light Bay and not a true Blood Bay. He’s beautiful for sure whatever.

Thanks Judy. It’s a lot easier to see the black in his mane and tail than on his legs :-)

Dear Marshall, Sandy, Tizgood and Diane:
You’re so welcome. It is amazing the different colors of Chestnuts, Bays and even the Grays. All beautiful. Love and Hugs, JB
Tizgood
Shirlee,
Texas Red looks like a light bay to me. Bay’s have black on their legs and it
can go up to their knees or higher. He also has a black mane which makes him a bay.
Chestnuts, brown and any solid colors do not have two colors. Their body tail and mane are all the same color, what ever it is.
Love and hugs

June 26 Cherokee Devotional
Make a quality decision to put aside anything that makes you worry the first thing in the morning. Keep morning as putty in your hands-that time to pray when your mind and spirit are rested. And if they are not rested, it is more important than ever to insist on morning freedom.
Lift your arms and give thanks that you are you and a new life is pouring into you this very moment. Bow down and be grateful for the freedom to do it. Keep fear out by rebuking it. Keep joy in by cultivating it. You are not helpless, you just forget to be blessed early in the morning.
Get a little further, lest I tread on thee…

Dear Kathy.Early mornings are just the best in spring/summer!It’s rather damp and drizzly here today .It just HAD to rain for Glastonbury!!!Great news about Fubu he’s put on weight and his mouth is a little better! The Lady in Country Cottage Garden hasn’t posted in over a week so I got the cat video then.Had to laugh I mistook Mason for Seville last night. She’s a lighter marmie and a very big girl!!Abby has found the car!!!!She wants to go shopping. You must be so used to huge cars in the US calling it a Hamster car. Has no one seen our minis??The “bobs” should double their weight this coming week.Mum is finding it awkward in the nest to say the least but the Manton Bay male loves his chicks lays in the nest just watching them.Of course Monty and Glesni are old hands at this parenting lark now.Dexter looks like a gentle Giant with the poms!Pee-Wee is getting a special cart as a gift from Faith the Chihuahua.Poor Hovis he could give his mum a fit and pretend to be lame again!Have a wonderful Friday.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Too bad for the rain for Glastonbury! That’s really good news about Fubu. Plus he’s in that contest. Fingers crossed he does well. That was a wonderful video. Thank you again. The Mason/Seville mix-up is funny! Glad Abby found the car. You’re right, we have good-sized cars over here for the most part. I have seen your minis. I would worry about feeling secure! That’s amazing that the “bobs” will double in weight in just 1 week. Poor Glesni! That’s tough when the babies are almost as big as you! Would love to see the Manton Bay male laying in the nest watching the chicks. The contrast between Dexter and the poms never fails to amuse. Love the bond between him and Sprout. They seem to be best buds. That’s great that Faith is providing Pee-Wee with a special cart. Hovis and his mum…they are so funny. So entertaining! Wonderful Friday to you, too. And enjoy your weekend ahead. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

1/12!!!! Way to go Coz. Think about Zenny and the boys every single day. What a blessing they are to me. I know many people don’t care for TVG but without them I would never have found Zenyatta and all the wonderful people here. Prayers for all the victims of today’s terror attacks around the world. Sitting at the red light in front of the county courthouse and a big pickup truck ran into my rear end. Meant the cars rear end. No damage no injury. I do miss the days when cars were made of real metal. About CC’s foot injury, how do they not know a bruise from an abscess? Why wouldn’t CC run in the Classic? If he were my horse I would want to run against the very best and try to take him down. AP will be ridden by VE so Mike Smith is an obvious choice for CC. He is the leading Breeders Cup rider. Just saying.
Tizgood
I sure would like to see CC ridden by Mike Smith. The horse bruises his foot and leads to an abcess, which causes pain and if left long enough lameness. In CC case just tenderness, have to soak it and get the pus to come to the surface in the hoof and burst
and drain, once it all drains out they can put a shoe on. Tender the whole time it is draining, though.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Tizgood:
Just the word abscess, after what Dubai went through, just scares me silly. Hoping CC will be well and fully recovered soon. Love and Hugs, JB
