    Sending birthday kisses to Hudson & Charlie, & of course one to Archie. I sent this earlier but I’m not sure it went through, so here I am again. So glad he’s doing better & will keep praying for him. Glad this yuckie day is almost over. We have power, hope you do too. Have a safe night, & look out for ice in the morning & thank you for the updates.

      Good luck to both of them. Seems like Hoppertunity has been around for a long time! Wish I could warm up to Arrogate as I have to other horses. Don’t dislike him, just don’t love him.

    Dear Judy,
    Glad you still have power. We got the snow in upstate NY-they kept upping the accumulations the closer the storm came to us. I think we have about 18″ so far & it’s still snowing & will continue into tomorrow, though not as heavy. Areas south & west of us were nearing 2 feet of snow this evening. The worst part is the winds which are blowing the light fluffy snow & making it hard to see.
    Amy & Cappy did not want to go out because the snow was too deep to go potty. They had trouble walking because there was no path in our back yard. I had to shovel an area for them so they could get outside. I am sure I will need to shovel again in the morning with the wind causing high drifts. The wind is howling strongly right now.
    Prayers for all who the storm has caused hardship as well as the emergency workers & snow plow drivers to stay safe. these workers are real heroes on days like these.

    Why judge yourself by what someone else is saying? They only know what they think. Can we fit our lives into the narrow confines of theirs? We can search our own souls. And most likely, we will find that we have connections uniquely our own-deeper in many ways than those with whom we would like to be in accord. But there’s no way we can whip ourselves into being like someone else. We can only make ourselves better. Regardless of how we have been conditioned to think, we know right from wrong. It is innate and speaks loud enough that if we want to hear it, we will. The only thing that keeps us from hearing is the clamor of voices outside ourselves-and they have no other purpose but to destroy. Don’t dally with trouble. Refuse to be a part of anything you would not look at in the light.

      What a mess; all the cars in our parking lot are covered in ice. Waiting for the temp to rise and melt it away. I tried to break the ice up with an old broom I use to remove snow from the car. Didn’t make much headway. Spring, where are you.!

    The Grade 2 Rebel Stakes has been run annually at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Ark., since 1961. The race is for 3-year-olds competing at 1 1/16 miles on the dirt and

    Kentucky House Unanimously Passes Bill to Define Horses as Livestock in Kentucky Law
    SB 139 now goes to the Governor’s desk to be signed into law.
    FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 15, 2017) – The Kentucky House of Representatives today unanimously passed Senate Bill 139, which would amend the definition of livestock in Kentucky to include horses and equines. The bill now moves to Governor Matt Bevin for his signature. Securing livestock classification has been among the top policy priorities of the Kentucky Equine Education Project since its 2004 creation.

    March 16 Cherokee Devotional

    It seems there is often too much of one thing and not enough of the other. Balance has a way of disappearing when we need it most. But it is our fault for thinking that once we have things all working together it will stay in balance without our having to do anything else. Nothing is so set that it will never change. We should never give in to challenges that throw us off center. Wait a little while. Something may be working that we don’t know about. Don’t accept everything as it appears. It can change in a moment’s notice and swing our way. Very often the law of nonresistance is at work here. Some of our best decisions are based on standing still until we can get a true picture.

    When life is easy, complex patterns of life can develop.

    Normal service is resumed at Cheltenham.Mullins and the short guy win the JLT with Yorkhill.Douvan is still sore this morning and will be getting an MRI.Someone bet 1/2million in cash that Douvan would win the Champion Chase.Oops!

      Good to see one of the Hill brothers win. Yorkhill like Moosie is a son of Presenting. York however has a far different attitude to jumping than does the Moose.

      Ironic too that Mullins wins, given it’s the Ryanair. Un de Sceaux is one tiger of a race horse. He’s fully in charge and Shorty is merely along for the ride. It’s full throttle all of the way for this little horse even in training. Very happy for him and Mullins.
