        Thanks for the marshmallow alert, Ann!
        I think I will be lucky to see a flake or two; after all, it is already May isn’t it? What an abnormal season it has been, and now I get to lose an hour of sleep. Bummer! Why can’t we just continue on natural time year ’round? I read some where that energy savings, if any, are minimal.

        I guess any marshmallows that may fall will be toasted! :-)

    March 11 Cherokee Devotional

    Can you see the wind? Can you see the fragrance of flowers floating on the breezes? Can you see thought or what it is that changes a tree from bare limbs and brown leaves to lush green? Can you see love or joy or peace? We can only see evidence of these invisible things, and it is enough to make us know they do exist. The substance of life is so evident, so real and beautiful. Why is it that we ever question the existence of our Creator, who set all things in motion? Are we so base, so grounded that unless it gives us momentary pleasure, feeds our starving appetites, we cannot recognize the greatest help available? It is Galun lati, the Great Holy Spirit, invisible but more real than all we see that is tangible.

    We see the changes of day and night…the seasons, the stars, the moon, the sun. Anyone must know it is the work of some one more powerful than man.

    Dear Kathy.Are you getting your extra hour’s sleep this morning?Beautiful day at Sandown and Finian’s Oscar is out the festival now.They always bet on how many winners Mullins will get on the first day this year it’s will he have any but I am sure he will have something up his sleeve.Rutland is open and the Egyptian geese are back.Let’s hope Maya is on her way back.Thank goodness Felix’s mass is not cancerous it’s a fungus and hopefully they can remove part of it it is called Aspergillosis.
    The boys went missing sneaked past the secret serbice and are in Spain having ices.I am sure mum will a word with the SS.Lots of Cheltenham memories today especially Sprinter’s comeback last year.Little Mouse looked very cute today still no news from Fubu.The hound group at Crufts tonight a little Japanese Yorkie won the toy group last night.
    There was a very arrogant woman from BC on Coolmore last night.Someone just asked if Ginger had foaled oh this Andrea went off saying why ask me and going on about her mare that died and they had medicated the other mare to produce milk,So my FB pal Liz put in a comment and Andrea told her to stop spouting off and accused of having no experience so I told Andrea Who do you think you are with your arrogant replies that Liz owns horses.Why are some peeps so unpleasant.My new friend in Portugal doesn’t understand that there has to be an international women’s day.It’s a quirk of nature to be born a man or a woman but a choice and achievement to be a Lady or a Gentleman and sadly there are many around these days.

      Nope…up early as usual. Enjoy all the racing festivities. Egyptian geese! That would be something to see! That’s really good news about Felix’s mass. But a fungus sounds pretty serious, too. The ratties are very gourmet! I love the pics of Mouse. She’s an adorable little girl. I’ve been enjoying your links to Crufts. I saw the little Yorkie. The lady was so proud of her little dog! I loved the link of the dog running the obstacle course really fast. The arrogant woman sounds like a real jerk. People like her make our lives miserable if we let them. Yes, there was real sadness in Zoe’s mini miracles. But as you say having that sweet little dog visiting you would definitely brighten you day. I will look for the interview with Zoe Cadman and John.     Disappointed in Gormley’s race. Perhaps the fractions were a bit fast for him. Here’s hoping Royal Mo does well next weekend.

    Does anyone know when Dortmond’s race goes off?

    Sounds as if Mastery is not seriously injured. Praying that is the case. We loose so many of them in the chase for the Derby.

    Mastery off Derby trail with front-leg fracture diagnosed after San Felipe win
    Jay Privman , Santa Anita , 2017-03-11 – DRF Live
    Mastery is off the Kentucky Derby trail after being diagnosed with a condylar fracture in his left front ankle following his victory on Saturday in the San Felipe Stakes at Santa Anita.
    He was pulled up after the race after jockey Mike Smith felt he was off in his left hind. But after getting back to the barn, Mastery showed signs of discomfort in his left front and was X-rayed, which revealed the fracture.
    Trainer Bob Baffert said he would likely have surgery on Monday.
    “What a game. We went from the highest highs,” Baffert said at his barn. “What an amazing performance.”

    Shaman Ghost won the Big Cap. Like this horse. He’s a real character with lots of quirks and talent. He threw his exercise rider this week during training at Santa Anita because he wanted to spend more time with his pony. He really likes that pony.

    A hard day at the races. Mastery won the battle but not the war. It seems he has a condylar fracture and is off the Derby trail. Gormley was 4th I think. I couldn’t tell and one place said 3rd and another said 4th. Dortmund had a rough run and was 6th. Better Luck next time.

    Perhaps it is for the special Moss’s that I have wished for Gormley to win and be in the top contenders for the Derby. Certainly there are some awesome horses with the Derby . Nothing is ever easy for these horses.

    March 12 Cherokee Devotional

    It is too easy to believe we are at the end of the line when it is only the beginning. One more step, one more effort may be all that is needed. It would amaze us if we knew how close we are to stepping past an old barrier-and it would shake us to know how close we came to quitting. Some would say it is too late-that too much has happened, we cannot go back and recapture what was lost. We have destroyed too much, bent the twig too far. And so it is true in some things. It is true that we have hurt and been hurt. We can’t go back, but the spiritual basis on which we stand can lift us up. Sometimes we have to sift our own lives to see what is worth saving, and then we find the Great Spirit made us. What He made is good and we should not let it go to waste. It is the time to turn over a new leaf to rediscover Divine connections.

    Martin Luther King said, “I have a dream.” But we Indians didn’t have a dream. We had reality.
